Talk about the perfect way to kick off fashion week! There’s nothing like opening up The New York Times and seeing yourself quoted in the Fashion & Style section.
Great, now I can check that off the bucket list! Now time to go buy out the issue… Read the whole story on nytimes.com
Lysol’s sanitizing a whole new surface as of recent, your hands! This week we celebrated the launch ofTouch of Foam Antibacterial Hand Wash, a rich, creamy rinse that is soft on skin and hard on germs. It works on contact to kill 99.9% of germs, while moisturizer‐enriched micro‐bubbles leave hands feeling soft and comfortable.
Hosted by fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley, (Sign, I love her!), the duo announced that they are partnering to launch the CYNTHIA ROWLEY + Touch of Foam Label Design Contest on Lysol’s Facebook page. Come March, Facebook fans can compete for their chance to win a trip to NYC Fashion Week and a $5k shopping spree. (Follow Lysol on Facebook to stay in the know!)
I tested out the product at the event and it’s surprisingly foamy! It left my hands so clean — almost too clean and they we’re so soft for well over an hour. And considering I’m one of those people that has the hand soap and moisturizer as separates in their bathroom, it’s super convenient having a 2 in 1.
I know, I know it’s supposed to be #ThrowbackThursday, but considering by then we’ll be back in New York Fashion Week again, I thought I’d take a moment to highlight the top 16 moments that went down during the Spring/Summer 2013 shows from this past September.
1. Miss Piggy making her grand appearance at Fashion Week
2. Delta Rae and Theophilus London performaning at the Socialyte Gala
3. Hanging out at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Week Lounge and in walks Kelly Osbourne (how amazing is those sunnies?)
4. Schutz shoes opened it’s first flagship store in NYC and Tiffany and I got to meet
You know what, I really like hosting events. I mean really, REALLY like hosting them. Last week I was honored alongside D.Brand as part of a monthly fashion series that NMRKT and Mondrian Soho produce. Every month, the duo picks a different blogger and designer to celebrate and lets them host a party. And at Mondrian’s Mister H no less!
So basically, dream venue (if you haven’t been it’s straight out of the 70s nightclub — red lighting, stripper poles — and yet somehow it’s still manages to be classy). What I like most is that it’s a very intimate space so you can actually enjoy your guests instead of having to search for them. I had a ball! Over 150 of my readers, pr peeps, bloggers and friends came to support. I was so humbled by the turn out and felt so honored to host such an incredible group.
If you’re not familiar with NMRKTor D.Brand, lets fix that! NMRKT hosts an incredibly cute site that poses the question, what are you in the market for, and then
9 girls, 1 night, 4 bottles of wine, 3 boxes of makeup… it’s tHERSday™ at chez Pretty Connected. What exactly is tHERSday? Well let me back up — I have been wanting to have a girls night for FOREVER! My schedule has been so completely insane in the membrane I’ve barely had time to call my parents let alone set up dinners with all the fabulous ladies in my life.
I was all complaints and no action, until I got an email from REMBRANDT (yes the teeth grooming specialists) offering a tHERSday™ kit—a bag packed with all the essentials needed to throw a tHERSday™ party (aka girls night). We’re talking
If you have not RSVPed for this event yet, please note the list has closed since we’ve reached capacity. I look forward to see you all tonight!
So get this! Every month the Mondriam Soho and NMRKT feature a different designer and blogger as part of their fashion series, and this month they picked me! And my design counterpart is D.Brand. Check them out! Their denim and puffy jackets are top notch. If you’re free Thursday, come celebrate with us!
If you follow me on twitter or instagram, you’ve probably noticed my not-so-slight obsession with Michael Aram — it runs in my family (all of our homes are healthily stocked with his designs). And if I’ve been to your wedding or if you plan on inviting me, spoiler alert expect a Michael Aram. (I scan all registries for his name.)
This week, Michael Aram has launched a fine Limoges Porcelain dinnerware collection consisting of 5 unique styles Black Orchid, Cast Iron, Botanical Leaf, Silversmith, and Black Orchid. Each pattern is available in a dinner plate, salad plate, tidbit plate, rimmed bowl, serving bowl, platter, breakfast cup, mug and saucer. Modern and refined, the designs reflect the way we are entertaining today — incorporating the ease, comfort and
What a month! A merry, merry month filled with incredible partnerships and features. I have some major THANK YOUS to give to some awesome online publications that I’m so excited to have had the opportunity to work with.
1. The Retail Me Not Insider — you know that AWESOME coupon site you should always check before making any in-store or online purchase (yah, that site!) featured myself, and some of my fav fellow beauty bloggers, Felicia of This That Beauty, Danielle of The Style & Beauty Doctor, and Jeannine of Beauty Sweet Spot and our must-have products of 2012! 2. My first feature in Refinery 29! Sure it’s a small shout out on their site but for a big event! I recently hosted the DIY station with artist, Sarah Reynolds at R29’s holiday pop-up shop, Tinseltown. We had a blast decorating holiday cards with guests and being apart of the event.
3. Fashion New York Magazine — I was featured as the #FNYGIRL of the day, such an honor! Check out the online fashion, beauty, and lifestyle magazine
‘Tis the season to glam up your tresses and Fekkai definitely taught me a thing or two about holiday hair! I recently visited the salon for what can only be described as a complete hair transformation. Fekkai teamed up with hair accessories designer Jennifer Behr for the evening and her collection makes for the perfect accent for any holiday look.
With the cold months ahead one of the first battles when it comes to healthy hair is combating winter dryness. Fekkai recently launched their PrX Reparatives Collection, which is designed to transform dry unmanageable hair into soft silky hair with movement. The collection consists of the PrX Shampoo ($30-$49), PRX Conditioner ($30-$49), PrX Preparative Intensive Fortifying Mask ($49) and PrX Reparatives 3 Day Transformation ($100).
My fabulous Fekkai stylist, Hos Hounkpatin, used the shampoo and conditioner on my hair as well as Fekkai styling products and as embarrassing as it is
Recently I caught up with the ever so delightful model/actress (and new mom!), Molly Sims atBLOWsalon in NYC for a special event hosted byRembrandtandNeutrogena. It was an evening filled with teeth whitening touch ups, hair blow-outs and mini makeovers by Neutrogena brand ambassador Amy Oresman.
While at the event I ran into Shy from the Beauty and the Feast Blog and together we took the opportunity to ask Mrs. Sims a few questions and get the 411 on her beauty essentials (and then of course I saw props and conned everyone into taking a funny pic).
Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! How did your life change once you became a mother?
Molly Sims (MS): My showers got really short! I went from a 30 minute shower, which is terrible to admit, to like a two minute one. I used to have a lot more time on my hands, and now there’s
