Get the Look: Kate Hudson at the 70th Annual Golden Globes

Kate Hudson Golden Globes

Kate Hudson looked flawless at the 70th Annual Golden Globes. The star paired a soft blowout with a nude makeup look to compliment the black Alexander McQueen gown and gold Jennifer Meyer earrings and ring.

According to celebrity hairstylist David Babaii, “I wanted to show off Kate’s healthy, shiny hair in a style that emphasizes her true Hollywood beauty. As the perfect

A Moment with Dr. Oz… health tips you don’t want to miss!

photo-4I admire Dr. Mehmet Oz. Or rather he (and anyone) who’s able to think of life on the large scale, give back and not be limited or held back by time, schedule or any other ‘I can’t(s)’ in life. Or as someone once told me when I thought I could not take on one more thing, “you’re not thinking large enough.” Dr. Oz does.

Aside from his ever so popular show, The Dr. Oz Show, he’s also an active cardiac surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, publishing a new book, YOU(R) Teen:Losing Weight, writes a monthly column for Oprah’s magazine, O, the chairman and founder of the non-profit organization, HealthCorps, and husband and father of four.

This month, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Oz for an evening hosted by HealthCorps, which if you’re not familiar with, is his proactive health movement, focused on fighting the obesity and mental resilience crisis

Talking beauty with Molly Sims

image040Recently I caught up with the ever so delightful model/actress (and new mom!), Molly Sims at BLOW salon in NYC for a special event hosted by Rembrandt and Neutrogena.  It was an evening filled with teeth whitening touch ups, hair blow-outs and mini makeovers by Neutrogena brand ambassador Amy Oresman.

While at the event I ran into Shy from the Beauty and the Feast Blog and together we took the opportunity to ask Mrs. Sims a few questions and get the 411 on her beauty essentials (and then of course I saw props and conned everyone into taking a funny pic).

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! How did your life change once you became a mother?

Molly Sims (MS): My showers got really short! I went from a 30 minute shower, which is terrible to admit, to like a two minute one. I used to have a lot more time on my hands, and now there’s

I confess, I’ve been scrambling this week. I was committed to not working today to give my boyfriend, James a 100% of my attention (he took the day off) for his birthday which could not have fallen on a busier week. In attempting to do so, I pulled my first all nighter since college (the lack of beauty sleep shows in the pictures) and forgot to plan the day! Fortunately, I have the best friends in the world and texted one of my dearest, Shant this afternoon asking if he could give us a private tour at Piers Morgan. (We made a last minute plan to see the “Playing with Fire” exhibit at the MAD Museum across the street) Well it’s true what they say about 12/12/12 birthdays — they are lucky! Piers Morgan himself (right before he had to go on set live) came with our tour!

PC Interviews Lisa Loeb to talk Eyewear, Hello Kitty and Her New Album “No Fairy Tale”

I was in a coffee shop when I first started writing this post and Lisa Loeb’s 90s hit song, Stay came on. When I looked up, half the people around the room were bobbing their heads and a few were even mouthing the words. One of whom was a woman sitting next to me. I turned to her and asked what she liked about Lisa Loeb. “I always thought she was really clever and liked the way she described things.” My sentiments exactly — well that and I loved her style.  She made wearing glasses and not a lot of make-up cool, and had us invested in the whole geek-chic look as sexy, even before fashion magazines deemed it so.

RIP Marty Resiman, legend, hustler, friend.

Lara and marty25_2198567_n

Last night, we lost a great in the tennis table world, Marty Reisman at the age of 82 due to heart and lung complications. He lived life on a large scale. Marty was many things, jetsetter, entrepreneur, legend, famed ping pong hustler (he won over 20 major table tennis titles) and to the lucky ones we got to call him a friend. He was so dapper and the kind of man that could pull off sunglasses and a Panama hat indoors and carried himself in a way, that you knew he was one of the greats. And he was.

I had the honor of meeting two table tennis legends Marty Reisman and Dick Miles.

In 2008 Matthew Broderick was on the David Letterman show and reference the legend and how he could “supposedly put a cigarette on a table and hit it with a ping pong ball and crack it in half, that’s how good he was.”  Lettermand then surprised Broderick with Reisman and a table where he performed the trick — until that moment the two had never met him. Broderick wasn’t the only one to meet Reisman that night.

The evening that episode aired, I was at a party in Tribeca, of which Marty was the celebrated guest. When the Letterman Show came on, the room became still and over a projector we watched together as Marty (always so stylish), triumphantly cut that cigarette in half. Later that evening we were introduced and I remember being so taken in by his very cool and calm demeanor. We talked about

Hilaria Baldwin Partners With PETA to Launch Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Shopping Guide

Entrepreneur, yoga instructor, Hilaria Thomas Baldwin (or as the press likes to call her, Alec Badlwin‘s wife) has teamed up with PETA to to be the face of their first-ever Global Cruelty-Free Cosmetic Shopping Guide. The guide will be the most up-to-date resource for customers who want to buy cosmetics and other products that are not tested on animals anywhere in the world.

Hilaria hosted an event earlier today at The Body Shop in Rockefeller Center to celebrate the launch of the guide, which is designed to help consumers who want to buy products that are not tested on animals the access and knowledge of which brands are truly cruelty-free.

“Since the 1980s, ‘cruelty-free’ has become a mark of distinction for cosmetics companies,” says Hilaria. “But as these companies head into China, the matter gets complicated because Chinese law actually requires animal testing. This is why

Roger Federer Named Moet & Chandon New Brand Ambassador #MoetReveal

17-time grand slam winner, tennis superstar, Roger Federer can now add first-ever global brand ambassador for Moet & Chandon to his list of accolades. “It’s more than just an honour to be Moët & Chandon’s brand ambassador, it’s an invitation to be part of a very glamorous tradition,” says Federer. “Moët & Chandon has always been the champagne of international trendsetters and I’m proud to be part of a brand that is as dedicated to the pursuit of excellence as I have been throughout my career.

Well the hunky trendsetter seems like a perfect match for the iconic champagne brand (which has been around since 1743). Go behind the scenes of Federer’s photo shoot with stylemaking photographer Patrick Demarchelier as he shares his thoughts on his new role in representing Moet & Chandon:

PC Celebrates Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday 24 Collection #Holiday24

There’s no doubt about it, last night Target blew it out of the water at the launch party for the Target + Neiman Marcus collaboration. I was so excited to be invited to this event, all I’ve ever wanted was to be able to shop Neiman Marcus at Target prices.

The collaboration which features over 50 gifts from 24 of the most coveted American designers (we’re talking Prabal Gurung, Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, DVF, Proenza Schouler, Jason Wu, Rodarte, Tory Burch…) priced between $7.99 – $499.99, with most items under $60.

{Live Target model rocking the Alice + Olivia Holiday Collection bike ($499.99)}

The event was to die for! Two floors of designer goods, interactive floor models (on girl was biking in place, while another was knitting the most giant fabric I’ve ever seen in the window), and most of the designers we’re in the house, walking the floor — I nearly passed out — too many of my heroes in one space. The champagne was flowing and the guests we’re taking advantage of the sneak peek to shop the collection before it’s December 1st launch date!

{Karlie Kloss at the Holiday 24 party}

Karlie Kloss, was the face of the #Holiday24 campaign and the first person I saw at the event (looking ever as stunning in a black dress with star sparkles). I wasn’t about to miss the opportunity to ask her who she was wearing and her must-have beauty product for the season. The answer, “I’m wearing

Shopping HomeGoods with Carson Kressley

Of all the places and shopping buddies I’ve had, getting to shop HomeGoods with Carson Kressley was probably one of the most memorable shopping dates I’ve had in a while. First off because, I didn’t even know their was a HomeGoods in NYC — it’s right on 99th St. and Columbus, and it’s massive! Secondly, because Carson is every bit as fun, charming and hilarious as you’d expect.

He took me on tour of the store and even picked out a present for me! Now I’m no stranger to HomeGoods or  their sister companies, TJMaxx and Marshalls (all owned by TJX), which I grew up on. All three are great stops for checking just about anyone off your holiday list, however unlike the other two retailers, HomeKids doesn’t have clothing and instead focuses on giftables in the bed + bath, tableware, gourmet kitchen, home office, seasonal, pets, garden and home categories. From kids, to pets, coworkers, friends,
