Making funny faces with Harry Potter Weasley Twins: James and Oliver Phelps
It’s been two years since the last Harry Potter film was released but fans have far from forgotten about their Hogwarts friends. Clearly a classic, the films are destined to inspire a world a magic for generations to come. Or so is evident by the line that formed to meet the infamous “Weasley Twins,” James and Oliver Phelps at the Harry Potter: The Exhibition at NYC’s Discovery Times Square (the exhibit runs through April 7th learn more HERE). Starting at 4am a line formed that wrapped around the corner to meet the twins. — they we’ren’t scheduled to arrive until 11am.

Upon walking into the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center for the red carpet premiere of the documentary “MAKERS: Women Who Make America”, I immediately felt this a ridiculous fierce energy just knowing I was surrounded by some of the most groundbreaking women in America. Proudly presented by PBS, AOL and Simple Facial Skincare, in walked the likes of Gloria Steinem, Allison Williams, Katie Couric, Amy Goodman, Marlo Thomas (alongside husband, Phil Donanhue) and Tavi Gevinson (to name a few). As part of a sneak preview of the documentary, they let guests view the 1st hour and part of the third. The film is a unique initiative that documents the extraordinary impact women from all walks of life have made in America over the past 50 years. The ladies featured filled me with tears of inspiration and awe.

One of my resolutions for 2013 was to not hold myself back and to say yes to anything that scars me. So when the Glam Network asked me to take part in a mini-webisode for UbyKotex I was up for the challenge.
Lets be clear, my former self would not be comfortable talking about feminine products, or really feminine anything, let alone on camera! But isn’t that in and of itself the problem? If we’re not comfortable talking about our bodies and (gasp!)
Beyonce’s Super Bowl Outfit
Wow! Props to Beyonce on her Super Bowl halftime performance at the Super Dome in New Orleans. Killer outfit, right? Designed by New York-based designer Rubin Singer, the outfit included a cropped black leather motorcycle jacket and a leather bodysuit made with strips of python and iguana, with insets of lace.

This Weekend: Miss America Pageant + Enter for your Chance to win a Christo Sea Treatment
This weekend is the Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA Pageant! Preliminaries are held this Saturday, January 19th, followed by the finals on on Sunday. The pageant can be viewed online at pageantvision.com. I’m not generally one for pageants since I’ve never known anyone to enter. . . until now. I’ll be tuning in this weekend
Virgin Saints & Angels Launches Once Upon a Time Collection
Last night, I stopped by Selima Optique for the Virgin Saints & Angels (VSA) launch party for their new collaboration with ABC’s hit show, Once Upon a Time. Inspired by the fairytale characters of Storybrook, and specifically the rivalry between Snow White and the Evil queen; there’s a clear contrast in the collection between the delicate angelic pieces we imagine on the purest Snow, with the edgier gothic pieces designed for the Evil Queen.
In creating the line, VSA used Swarovski Elements for a touch of color and to create two collections, soft pink and pure white for Snow and deep red and jet for the Queen. The two distinct collections were designed to compliment each other and work seamlessly when layered together.
A Moment for Lucky
My dear friends,
It’s with great sadness today that I announce the departure of my beloved Vespa, “Lucky”. Named after an infamous character in Jackie Collins novels, Lucky was a strong and beautiful LX150 who helped me explore the boroughs of NYC and brought me endless joy throughout our 4 years together. Unfortunately, the salt water of Hurricane Sandy was too much for her and she was unable to recover from the internal water damage. Words can’t describe how much fun we had together and she will be deeply missed.
She was wonderful and I’m grateful for all the time we had together.
