I stopped by backstage at Charlotte Ronson Fall 2013 show at Lincoln Center to see my favorite nail artist/manicurist Simcha Whitehill, aka Miss Pop (check out her blog if you ever need nail-spiration). Leading the nail team for Color Club, she created a “Picture Frame” nail art look — 5 to be exact.

Charlotte Ronson Fall 2013

The Charlotte Ronson Fall/Winter 2013 collection was inspired by British Rock and Roll. There was a definite trend of leather, color blocked florals, and gray wool blends that streamed through the collection. From slouchy grunge

IMG_2309

Infamous for kicking off NYFW, every fall fashion week season, The Heart Truth Dress Red Dress Show premiered this eve at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. With celebrities as models, A-Listers walked the runway in the name of healthy hearts reminding women everywhere of their role in the fight against heart disease. This years lineup included Kelly Osbourne, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Toni Braxton, Jillian Michaels,

What a month! A merry, merry month filled with incredible partnerships and features. I have some major THANK YOUS to give to some awesome online publications that I’m so excited to have had the opportunity to work with.

1. The Retail Me Not Insider — you know that AWESOME coupon site you should always check before making any in-store or online purchase (yah, that site!) featured myself, and some of my fav fellow beauty bloggers, Felicia of This That Beauty, Danielle of The Style & Beauty Doctor, and Jeannine of Beauty Sweet Spot and our must-have products of 2012! 2. My first feature in Refinery 29! Sure it’s a small shout out on their site but for a big event! I recently hosted the DIY station with artist, Sarah Reynolds at R29’s holiday pop-up shop, Tinseltown. We had a blast decorating holiday cards with guests and  being apart of the event.

Wesley Nault Spring 2013 Presentation

Wesley Nault’s spring 2013 showing was a curated collection for the ladies who lunch. Oh, and by ladies who lunch I mean young “it” gals who are feasting at what Nault described as a psychadelic picnic. A serene color story of hues that made you feel like you were floating placed on strong silhouettes by way of pencil skirts, sophisticated blouses, and a cheeky all in one sweater set created a perfect synergy. The prints packed excitement, the touches of iridescence made your pupils dance and the accoutrements of hair, make-up, bold baubles and swoon worthy shoes {courtesy of Christian Louboutin} framed each look in

Nautica Spring 2013 Presentation

Shirtless men can make a rise in the temperature but that paled in comparison to the sun soaked rooftop of the Empire hotel. Nautica’s latest designs took it in stride, perhaps taking a cue from their ensembles imagining their next stop was the yacht club or an ocean front bungalow. The collection built off primary colors had some exciting hits of neon that

NYFW: Backstage at Rolando Santana with Patrick Melville & Aveeno

Backstage at Rolando Santana Spring/Summer 2013 runway show, Patrick Melville created a very pretty, natural 70s beach chic blow-out using Aveeno products! His ultimate power tool being AVEENO’s NEW Pure Renewal™ Dry Shampoo. And best part is it’s easy to recreate at home and affordable (two adjectives not generally associated with fashion week!)

“I chose this subtle, 70’s inspired style that gently swept tresses around the face to give a wispy, natural look,” commented Patrick.  “The dry shampoo literally transforms the hair texture for more a more dramatic look.”

Using Aveeno products, here are 3 easy steps to create a beach-texture hair blow-out:

1.  Prior to blow-drying, apply a volumizing spray at root and smooth a styling glaze through the length and ends of damp hair.

2.  Blow-dry hair straight with

NYFW: Venexiana S/S 2013 Runway Show (+ Video)

There’s no doubt that Kati Stern is a total rockstar. I think anyone that can pull off 71 looks in one show deserves that title. And classically Venexiana, there was tons of embellishment details, sparkle galore with gowns covered in layers of chiffon that hit the runway for her spring/summer 2013 collection. For the silhouettes, she kept it fairly classic — long fitted gowns (either strapless, one-shoulder or halter shaped) at the top with long graceful trains down the bodice.

While most of the collection is too over-the-top for my taste (I can be honest – it doesn’t have to be my aesthetic for me to appreciate it), there were some very feminine and softer gowns I thought were stunning. With this many looks there’s something for everyone and I like that she’s not afraid to play with a full spectrum of colors and embellishments.

NYFW: Backstage at Venexiana Spring/Summer 2013 Show

Backstage at Venexiana was impressive! The hair, created by Philip Pelusi, Founder of Tela Design Studio and Tela Beauty Organics products was everything a runway look should be, exotic, unique and just complete artistry. With Symmetric rolls of hair, spun into a twist and around the sides of the models head, and then braided and pinned in the back out poured this stunning up do. To create the look, the team used Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi DRI SHAMPOO (Organic Dri Cleanser for the Hair and Scalp), COMPOSER (Organic Styling Product for All Hair Types) and HAIR GLOSS (Organic Elixer for Shine and Style).

There are elements of this style that would be achievable at home, however it took a lot of synthetic hair waived into the models real hair to create the volume and dimension.

Inspired by the Venexiana woman (who is not afraid to make a bold fashion statement), Mehron’s key artist Dani Fonseca created a dramatic yet versatile makeup look packing high-impact eyelashes to compliment the new collection’s vast range of colors.

“It was really exciting to work with a designer who loves color and makeup,” said Fonseca. “Mehron’s new iNtense Pro Pressed Pigments were essential for creating a look that mirrored the ferocity and elegance of the clothes on the runway.”

Get the look! Here’s how:
