2017 Highlights: Oh the Places We’ve Gone… (and people we’ve met)

2017 was a pretty incredible year for me. I got to be in an Olay campaign with my mom, was profiled in Vanity Fair, danced with the Rockettes, judged Glamour’s Beauty Awards, was on a billboard in Times Square, and meet so many of my idols! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. If I’m being honest the whole year was a bit of a blur. Which is why every New Years Eve, I take an hour to go through my Instagram feed, blog posts and just reflect on all the incredible things that have happened. So here we go, my top moments of 2017 (in no particular order)!

  1. Being profiled in Vanity Fair. I mean… #goals.

2. Seeing my face on a billboard in Times Square! I hosted a Facebook Live with Sophia Bush for Sunglass Hut that was streamed on a billboard in Times Square. It was incredible.

3. Getting this Owl necklace from Iris Apfel’s personal jewelry collection. She hosted a trunk show of her one of a kind vintage pieces she’s thrifted throughout the years and I walked away with this incredible piece.

4. Being in Greece with Patricia Field and Debi Mazar, two women I’ve literally admired my whole life. From cruising around Mykonos in an ATV, to epic lunches overlooking the Mediterranean, this vacation was the definition of paradise.

5. Getting to judge Glamour’s Beauty Awards for the 2nd year in a row.

6. Being in an Olay campaign with my mom and being apart of the 28-day clinical study for the famed Regenerist and Total Effects moisturizer.

7. Got to workout with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and learn their moves thanks to Gillette Venus!

8. Getting to hug Joe Biden!

9. Walking in my first fashion show for Livari during fashion week!

GH Kitchen of the Future with Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcus

Getting back from Greece, I had major Mykonos withdrawal. Being pampered with the great food, beaches (Jackie O Beach is paradise), and riding around on my ATV and spending an unforgettable week with Patricia Field and all of her friends, including Debi Mazar — I was literally living the dream. So when I landed in New York and saw that Debi Mazar and her husband, Gabriele Corcos, who have the cooking show, Extra Virgin on the Cooking Channel, were hosting the launch of the Good Housekeeping Kitchen, I was so there! I’m launching a new venture soon, so being in the presence of strong, ambitious woman, who continue to push boundaries and aren’t boxed in is really important to me. Debi Mazar who in addition to being a mom, author, and having a cooking show (and literally 1,000 other accolades), she also stars on the hit show Younger, which probably the only perk of coming home from Greece was getting to binge the 4th season. Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection 2016 presented by Macy’s

Supporting women’s heart health has become a perennial favorite during New York Fashion week and the perfect way to kick off the season.  This year’s American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” Dress collection presented by Macy’s was no exception. The event is an opportunity for top designers and celebrities to bring awareness to women’s heart health during the month of February. Some of the celebrities that came out to support was actress Alexa Pena Vega in Gustavo Cadile Candace, actress Cameron Bure in Badgley Mischka, actress Fran Drescher in La Petite Robe di Chiarra Boni, actresses and singers Lennon and Maisy in Stella BCBGeneration, Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo in Marchesa, Today Show Host, Tamron Hall in Marc Bouwer and Ballerina Misty Copeland in David Meister.

Katy Perry, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid Stun at Harper’s Bazaar Icons Event

Katy Perry performs at Harper's Bazaar Icons event Last night was something out of a dream. I joined COVERGIRL for the 2nd annual Harper’s Bazzar Icons event at the Plaza Hotel. Hosted by Carine Roitfeld and Jean-Paul Goude at the Plaza Hotel, the evening honored all of the icons featured in the September issue.

We then headed downstairs to the ballroom for the cocktail party which included an imaginative short video featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the Icon’s photoshoot.

Rumors before the party had circulated that Katy Perry would be performing at the event, which all proved to be true. Not only was she included in the spread, she’s also on the cover of the September issue.

It was an incredible performance and evening of fashion, music and epic beauty. I’ve literally never seen so many beautiful people in one room. I also could not stop starring at the beauty that is Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid. The next generation of icons were all in tow.

MAC Cosmetics Announces #MACSelena

The internet is a buzz with the announcement of #MACSelena: the multi-product collection inspired by Latin icon, Selena Quintanilla. Back in February, fans of the late singer started a Change.org petition urging MAC Cosmetics to release a limited-edition collection inspired by the singing sensation. 37,772 signatures later, everyone (including us) is freaking out!

Jackie Collins Latest Book The Santangelos Now on Stands

Jackie Collins book launchIf you’re a Jackie Collins fan, then you’re a fan of the Santangelos. The two are mutually exclusive in my book (pun intended). If you have no idea what I’m talking about, I’ll clue you in. Icon and novelist, Jackie Collins has written 31 books over the course of her career, all of which have appeared on The New York Times bestsellers list. And it’s because they suck you in, murder, betrayal, love, lust all run through the eccentric characters. Inspired by the rich and famous and world of celebrities Collins is privy too, she bases her stories and characters on real life occurrences (well, hopefully not the murder parts), and takes you on a world of adventure with every page.

Top Model Josephine Skriver Stars in New G-SHOCK Campaign

As some of you may remember, last year Casio G-Shock launched the S Series, a collection for women. Coachella Diaries: Day 2 with Patricia Field

After a  super packed day 1 of Coachella (check out the full recap HERE), we decided for day 2 (Saturday, April 12th) we’d take the morning off and start the day with Pandora jewelry. Hosted at the Parker Hotel where we were staying, Pandora did a super cool activation during Coachella in which every day they partnered with a different designer and featured an exclusive runway show. Friday night they kicked off with Siwy Denim, Saturday with Nanette Lepore and Plenty by Tracy Reese and Sunday with WHit.

Coachella Diaries: Day 1 with Patricia Field

It’s hard to believe Coachella has come and gone! James and I had so much fun this season and having Patricia Field as our date is every bit as awesome as you would imagine and more! The three of us hit some miles in our Chevy Trax (which was the perfect travel car!) in our 4 days in Palm Springs (plus two in LA!).

We kicked off Coachella the night before the music festival at the “Not a Pool Party” kick off at Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs. Headlining the event was Elliphant, who unfortunately we left before she went on (had to rest up for the 1st day of Coachella)! We did however catch, PPL MVR, which was by far one of the strangest performances I have ever seen (and that says a lot).
