Makeda from Glamazon Diaries and I hosted a fun soiree in honor of the big finale and hosted a twitter party where we gave away some of the products used on set (congratulations to our winners @jenniferzeno, @OhLaLaChrissy, and @NJBeachGrl!). We sipped our Tiziano wine all Olivia Pope Style, our friends at Davios did some delicious catering and we tweeted up the products from the set.

Sarah Kugelman’s 8 Tips to help combat stressed skin
Stressed skin is a topic we can’t seem to escape and a trend we’re seeing skincare brands now address. And a woman who’s no stranger to this topic, Sarah Kugelman, a true pioneer in helping women combat their effects and the founder of the skincare line, skyn Iceland (which is formulated to absolve the stress from your skin) has shared her best summer de-stress tips with us!
You may be thinking, what’s stressful about summer? Where to begin… High heat and humidity. Being stuck in the city all weekend with your makeup melting off, sweaty crowds, ouchy sunburn. The intimidation of the ‘bikini’ body… (our list only goes on from there). Earlier this month I hosted an event with Sarah Kugelman and the Skyn Iceland team appropriately themed, Slow Down and Cool Down sharing Skyn’s Tips for a more relaxing summer. Take note!

As summer heats up it’s important to take a moment for a little R&R and pampering and we did just that. And at my favorite store in NYC no less! On Tuesday night I had the pleasure of hosting an event with skincare brand, Skyn Iceland at the private event space at Henri Bendel’s (where you an now purchase Skyn Iceland products). We transformed the room into a relaxing mecca offering manicures by Spa Nail, cold juice pressed drinks from Liquiteria and the most amazing gluten-free cupcakes (arguably the most amazing cupcakes ever) by Kaked, and of course some bubbly to toast summer. Guests enjoyed an eye cooling bar using Skyn Iceland’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, which instantly de-puff eyes in 10 minutes and are everything you need to look refreshed after a night out or not enough sleep. There were also stress tests on hand, which involved putting a strip under your tongue for 30 seconds and it reads your stress level — on a scale of 20 to 91+ I got a 130 which was a bit of an awakening that maybe I need to slow down a bit!
We also showed off the perfect summer products to help you cool off and cool down (the theme of the event) and have healthy, radient skin. October is special month, when brands rally together to help raise awareness and funds to help fight against breast cancer. This year for BCA month, I received a record number of emails by brands participating, so as I weed through (and I’ll try to update this as more come through), here’s a list of how some companies are showing their support:

As most of you know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And to help raise funds for the cause many fashion and beauty brands are donating a portion of their sales to the cause. Below are some items in support!
