Beauty Queen Gift Guide

It’s easy to classify someone as a beauty queen (or junkie) –we’re everywhere! However it’s not always easy to find the perfect gift for us, especially since we’re so picky. Here are some recommendations to help you get a little more creative this holiday season.

1. Mixer Kit by Geri G ($39) – The all-star in this 5-piece kit is the Mixer Solo (also sold separately, $29), it’s a very cool multi-functional aloe-based product that can be used as a face or eye shadow primer or base to mix your cosmetics. I use it for all of the above. It has a nice silicone type smoothing feel when applied to skin, so I enjoy it as my base product before putting on my makeup. I’m also someone who’s skin-tone changes by season so I often use it as a buffer to mix my foundations or powders to create my perfect shade. Additionally it’s water-resistant, allergy-tested, irritation-free and formulated with Titanium Dioxide for sun protection, The set also includes the M Brush (regularly $14.95), instruction booklet and DVD (11.5min) and mixing spatula.

2. BeautyBlender Holiday Set ($23.95) – This set contains a BeautyBlender sponge and BlenderCleanser bundled a red pouch, ready for the holidays. I was originally turned onto the BeautyBlender sponge by celebrity makeup artist, Jackie Gomez. She raved about it in a class I attended –how great the shape of the sponge was for applying makeup to the contours of your face, how it could be used wet or dry, and that it is

VOTE FOR ME! Ferragamo Launches The W List

Today, Salvadore Ferragamo launched a really cool social media campaign and as a social media consultant I think it’s actually quite brilliant.  Basically Ferragamo invites you to disclose what inspires you and your style. Then through a ranking system, the person who receives the most votes makes it to the top of the W List.  The winner has the opportunity to inspire a one-of-a-kind custom W bag designed just for you by Ferragamo Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti. If you come in 2nd-5th place you will be gifted a special edition Spring/Summer 2011 runway W bag.  And no matter were one lands on the list, Massimiliano will be looking to hand-pick someone he finds especially inspiring to receive one last special edition W bag.

VOTE FOR ME!

When I signed up I was ranked at 60, within minutes of posting it on my Facebook wall I went to 26 (thank you friends for that), so help me move higher up the W List by voting for me (especially before this promotion spreads like a wildfire and I’m back on the bottom!).  Click this link: http://wlist.ferragamo.com/#/1086 then next to my name ‘LARA EURDOLIAN’ hit ‘CAST YOUR VOTE’.  It take roughly 5 seconds and you don’t need to sign up or give any contact information to vote. You can vote once a day –so vote for me once or daily, I would greatly appreciate your support. After all, you’re what inspires me.

Plus the whole theme is traveling and after being on over 20 flights just this year, I think I’m qualified for a jetsetter bag.

Dots Styles & Beats Launch Party

Lara (right) with fellow bloggers Christine and Erika at Dots Style & Beats Launch Party

On Wednesday, November 7th, Dots Fashion and The King Collective held the launch party for Styles & Beats. Hosted by Rocco Leo Gaglioti from Fashion News Live, and beats provided by DJ Reni Lane, the fashion and music event featured “fashion face-offs”, where guests put their styling skills to the test using Dots apparel and accessories.

Style & Beats host Rocco with Gen Art Co-founder, Ian Gerard

Held at 2 Great Jones, the store carried a mix of fashionable finds and labels at all different price points (Dots winning the most affordable vote). I stumbled upon the below (non-Dots) vintage, orange necklace ($79).  Guest of a Guest extensively covered the event (check out more of their pictures HERE) and I woke up to

Armani Exchange Spring 2011 Collection: Travelista

Last night, I attended a special preview of A|X Armani Exchange Spring 2011 collection at Milk Studios.  The theme for the line is ‘Travelista’ merging together fashion and travel.  The collection was built around sophisticated utilitarian style, modern influence of season-less dressing, flexibility and the functional luxury of streamlined urban-chic.

The navy number below really caught my eye! And I love how it’s accessorized with a red purse.

Hercules Magnetic Jewelry Clasp

Hercules Magnetic Jewelry Clasp

Having recently gone through a breakup and all the joys of basically living with someone for the past 3 years, you realize it’s the little things you miss the most. For instance, having someone help put on your jewelry. It may sound silly, but I completely took that comfort for granted. While I’m pretty solid with putting on my own necklaces (unless they are really tight), I have a lot of difficulty with bracelets.

Recently, I discovered Hercules Magnetic Jewelry Clasp. It’s actually really cool, it clasps to any regular lobster clasp at either end transforming your clasp into a magnetic one; making it very easy to open and close. I know that sounds

Zuzana Serbak Shoes

Whoever this Zuzana Serbak woman is, she needs to have her designs come to life so I can own her collection. Seriously how cool are her shoes!?!?

Zuzana Serbak is a recent graduate from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and this is part of her diploma collection. According to her blog, she is currently looking for a job. Someone, please hire her, and email me once you do.

Alfred Kenney Jewelry

I’m a fan of any girl that can do it all, but particularly ones who make it look effortless and do it with style. Which is why I’m pleased to announce the official launch of my dear friend, lawyer (wouldn’t have Pretty Connected trademarked without her!) and now jeweler, Christine Creamer’s new jewelry line, Alfred Kenney. Inspired by movement, Alfred Kenney manages to dovetail simplicity and elegance while still being completely edgy and modern. Which just
