Thank you haters!

thank you haters shirt

I’m a big Six:02 fan, they curate some of the best workout gear from brands like Fenty, Puma, Ivy Pary, Adidas, Nike and some more indie fitness brands. Their latest campaign “Thank You” — or rather “Thank You Haters!” features actress Bella Thorne thanking “haters” who have motivated her to be her best.

As a part of the campaign, SIX:02 will debut an exclusive line of “Thank You” tanks and hats with a portion of proceeds donated to Step Up, supporting the organization’s efforts to propel girls from under-resourced communities and empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women.

Geared for More with Adidas Golf

Growing up I used to love going to the driving range with my dad. It was one of my most favorite father-daughter activities. Granted I was terrible and no idea the difference between a driver and a putter but I had decent form and if I played my cards right (or had some blind luck) the stars would align and I’d hit a perfectly fluid shot. And it was the best feeling ever! Since then I’ve stayed at a number of exceptional properties that offer golfing but always felt intimidated hitting the course without my dad. Or maybe it was because I’m an adult now and being the competitive athlete that I am, I wasn’t ready to completely bomb at something.

After this week in Palm Springs and some motivation from Adidas Golf, I could not have been more pumped! I’ve been a longtime Adidas fan and I’m so excited to be partnering with them this summer to take lessons and test out their gear. Their Geared for More campaign is all about bringing your A-game to the course and preparing for victory. Between that and visiting the beautiful Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort (located in Rancho Mirage, right outside of Palm Springs) I was ready to bury my intimidated attitude and really take advantage of the property — and at the very least blend in.

I mean, how cute is this outfit? I’m channeling my inner pro golfer that vacations at PGA properties and spending more time in a golf cart than actual car. And speaking of the clothes, the fabric in this Golf Double Stripe Short Sleeve Polo is magic. I’ve been melting in the sun and not a single sweat mark! It’s moisture-wicking makes me look so dry and breathes so well! Also the top is a UPF50, which means it has a protection from the sun (think SPF 50 level), which is so necessary on the course. The Essentials 5 Shorts Women’s Shorts are super lightweight and move comfortably. Topped off with the Climacross Boost Women’s Golf Shoes, which are hands down my favorite, such a perfect hybrid between a golf shoe and running sneaker. Excellent grip combined with side mesh makes it breathable and comfortable to wear. It also features their Torsion System to stabilize feet while walking and swinging. I felt very secure in my stance when hitting and love the look of them!

Made in LA

It’s so great to be back in LA! I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve been back. Usually, I say in Santa Monica but I’ve had a blast exploring some of the other parts of LA with my amazing tour guide and host, Kristi from Currently Crushing. Her partner is an incredible photographer and I’ve had a blast shooting around the city from scenic hike areas to the classic “Made in LA” mural I’ve seen all over Instagram.

Athleisure, temperamental weather, Harry Connick Jr (and it’s only Monday)

What is happening? It’s summer, it’s winter, one minute it’s warm and the next you’re enjoying a sandwich from your favorite local Alidoro spot and then next our server is Harry Connick Jr. disguised as an old man. No really, that happened to me today. Don’t worry I’ll share the video of him peeling off his mask *think Mission Impossible style* to reveal himself when it airs on his show. On the upside I got a blow-out this morning so at least my hair looked good. I was otherwise in my usual athleisure-no-ones-paying attention to me lunch attire.

Life updates, Blogger advice and this retro Lafayette 148 outfit

Happy last day of February everyone! This year is flying by and I for one am ready for a vacation. It has been the most exciting few months of filming and magazine collaborations which I can not wait to share with all of you! Between Health Magazine announcing my campaign with Olay (we have another surprise coming soon!), Redbook featuring my charity and I got to announce my partnership with Vanity Fair, February will be hard to beat. However, March brings some awesome projects with Glamour, New Beauty and Amazon which I dying to see! I started my site 9 years ago because I worked for the best beauty and skincare brands and it felt like no one was leveraging experts or sharing product formulations and information in the way it’s so readily available now! And the fact that this industry (not just in beauty but fashion and travel too) continues to surprise me and push my creativity, it is never a dull moment. What I did with Olay was groundbreaking. I’ve never known a blogger or really any identifiable person go through clinicals to have their skin checked during product testing. It’s always just an anonymous clinical statistic and some number of a percentage of women that saw changes.  I’ll have more to unveil on that soon! I think the best part of working non-stop this new year was after months of being excited but so exhausted from early call times and the hours I spent researching, testing and reading before going on camera is now I get to sit back and see all of these projects come to life. Every collaboration has been so different and I’m so inspired how much magazines are embracing bloggers, these past few months I have been inspired and challenged in ways I didn’t even know were possible.

New 2017 Pirelli Calendar by Peter Lindbergh Unveiled

The 2017 Pirelli Calendar has been revealed and spoiler: it’s amazing. Shot by one of my favorite photographers, the iconic, Peter Lindbergh, this calendar conveys “personality, sensitivity, and the guts to be yourself.” While the photos are incredible so is the fact that Lindbergh is the first in the industry to have shot three editions of this infamous Calendar. The Pirelli Calendar, which has been produced yearly since launching in 1963 has previously been shot by big industry names including Helmut Newton, Steven Meisel and Annie Leibovitz and has featured so many iconic models and celebrities.

Jumping for joy

I am so excited! I woke up to a tweet yesterday that I was featured in “The Best Makeup and Beauty Blogs That You Need to be Following” by Total Beauty as one of six bloggers! I work my a$$ off everyday swatching, trying, going to events looking for the latest and greatest. Meeting so many of the pioneers and founders of makeup brands that to have that recognized, means a lot to me. I started my site 9 years ago and the changes I’ve seen — my site is older than twitter, snapchat and Instagram, if that helps put things in perspective. If you’re a beauty enthusiast, you should vote in Total Beauty’s 8th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards. You get entered to win prizes and most importantly help them pick the winners!

Anyways, it’s Friday, and after a very long, epic, Fashion Week (recap coming soon!),  I’m so looking forward to a weekend in sweats and to play with all these new products I just got.  This was one of my outfits from Fashion Week, I wore Eliza J almost non-stop. How cute is the jumpsuit with this velvet backpack? I picked up the bag at the Six:02 store, which is my favorite place to shop for workout gear. They just opened their second location in Times Square last week and if you’re going through an athleisure phase, or just like really hot workout clothes — the Ive Park, Fenty Puma… this is the spot. They also have a website, which I’ve been shopping on before they opened their stores (I’m like their super fan).

The art of body language and how to snag a man or a brand campaign…

I can not believe tomorrow is Valentine’s Day!!!! Do you have anything special planned? I feel like the big new buzz word is Galentine, encouraging all the single ladies to get together and do parties which while I’m all about girl power and celebrating your love for your gal pals, there really is no substitute (although besties come close!) for finding a partner in life. I can tell you that as one of the most independent people on the planet, so much of my world would be lost if I couldn’t share it with James and there would be a void without his support. I know the dating scene is hard but with online dating it’s never been more convenient. Although I was shocked to learn that over half a million singles register with EliteSingles every month! Wowza! Are there any relationships left besides mine?

Sutton Foster & the Amopé’s Insert Truck

Tuesday was a dream, hello the moment I hugged Joe Biden! But before that epic moment, I got to hang out with Sutton Foster (confession, I’m obsessed with Younger), for the launch of Amopé’s new GelActiv Insoles & Inserts. You may know Amope from their at home manicure and pedicure products ranging an Electric Foot File to moisturizers to keep your hands and toes on point. Now with their new GelActiv Insoles & Inserts it takes everything next level making virtually every shoe — flat to heels, open toe to closed up their comfort game and add extra support. And with fashion week here, I want them all!

Gilt x Livelihood Launch with Joe Biden

Considering the current state of affairs to say I needed a Joe Biden hug was an understatement. Last night, the former VP came out to support his daughter, Ashley Biden for the launch of Livelihood, a socially and ethically conscious apparel company which is partnering with Gilt today to sell a collection of hoodies with 100% of the net proceeds donated to Livelihood’s community development initiatives.
