PC Honored by Mondrian Soho x NMRKT

You know what, I really like hosting events. I mean really, REALLY like hosting them. Last week I was honored alongside D.Brand as part of a monthly fashion series that NMRKT and Mondrian Soho produce. Every month, the duo picks a different blogger and designer to celebrate and lets them host a party. And at Mondrian’s Mister H no less!

So basically, dream venue (if you haven’t been it’s straight out of the 70s nightclub — red lighting, stripper poles — and yet somehow it’s still manages to be classy). What I like most is that it’s a very intimate space so you can actually enjoy your guests instead of having to search for them. I had a ball! Over 150 of my readers, pr peeps, bloggers and friends came to support. I was so humbled by the turn out and felt so honored to host such an incredible group.

If you’re not familiar with NMRKT or D.Brand, lets fix that! NMRKT hosts an incredibly cute site that poses the question, what are you in the market for, and then

First Look: Inside Monique Lhuillier Closet

Monique LhullierMonique Lhuillier owns a couture fashion house based in Los Angeles, California. The fashion designer most prominently known for bridal wear — or rather bridal everything — with her expansion into fine jewelry (her engagement rings are GORG), dinnerware, and wedding invitations and fine stationary.  For the rest of us who didn’t put a ring on it, Lhuillier has a ready to wear collection filled with red carpet worthy gowns.

Her recent big news was after 16 years of being in the biz, the designer debuted her first NYC store in the Upper East Side.

Our friends at The Coveteur are giving us an exclusive first look inside Monique Lhuillier closet. (Doesn’t being a glam-bassador for them rule?) Visit The Coveteur tomorrow for an in-depth look into the world and home of Monique Lhuillier.

I Love Jewelry Auctions

In the age of this dot.com boom where everyone’s got a million dollar idea, it still seems rare to hear an actual success story.

Prior to launching the wildly successful I Love Jewelry Auctions Facebook business she did PR for Cartier and then founded her first jewelry site, Jordann Jewelry (www.jordannjewelry.com). Jordann has become the new face of web entrepreneurs – one that doesn’t need funding or years to build technology. Click HERE to see how its done – it’s so simple you will be amazed. Even Facebook is impressed, considering many have tried and failed to use Facebook as a viable selling platform; Facebook is currently using Jordann to promote their new initiative Facebook Marketing – www.facebook.com/marketing.

Michelle Obama Wears Jason Wu AGAIN to 2013 Inauguration Ball

President Obama And first lady Attend Inaugural Balls

It would be the biggest news since Michelle Obama’s bangs — of course I’m talking about her dress of choice for the 2013 Inauguration ball. Out walks the First Lady in her gorgeous ruby colored full length gown (with v-neck back) and alongside the President, they share the first dance. (All the while we’re all holding our breathe, in anticipation of the dress announcement.) Finally it’s revealed, she’s wearing Jason Wu… again. What’s so crazy about this momentous fashion moment is no one knows who she will wear — not even the designer — until she makes her entrance. She complimented the dress with Jimmy Choo shoes.

Having a reputation for wearing young designers and bringing them in the spotlight — as she did the first time around in wearing Jason Wu, and with all the speculation over who she would be wearing. I don’t think anyone anticipated it would Wu again. She already made his career the first time around,

Touring EFFY Jewelry

IMG_4894Located in the heart of the diamond district on 46th street in NYC, I had the pleasure of joining Lucky Magazine for a private tour of the House of EFFY.

Founded in 1979 by Effy Hematian, EFFY jewelry has become infamous for his pave work and use of color — something that was rarely done precious and semiprecious jewelry back in the 70s. The company is still family run, with Mr. Effy at the helm alongside his three sons who work with him.

When I entered the EFFY offices, I was immersed in a room of treasures. The showroom is filled with diamonds, sapphires, ruby’s, emeralds and semi-precious stones (yes, I was in heaven).

Mr. Effy’s love of panthers immediately shined through not just in his Signature Collection (which were some of my favorite pieces) but throughout the office in it’s decor — his collection of panther pictures is something to be envious of. Then in walked Mr. Effy himself, sporting a custom panther lapel and the signature Hermes belt with a panther molded to the H buckle — last I checked Hermes didn’t offer a panther style (he had it added).  He’s a man after my own heart. I asked Mr. Effy what the fascination with panthers were and he answered point blank, “strength, power, and beauty.” Perfect answer.

Screen Shot 2013-01-04 at 9.14.24 AMLooks like Gap Inc. is entering the luxury market! The clothing retailer, which owns Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta is purchasing multi-brand retailer Intermix Inc. for $130 million.

Intermix doesn’t produce its own clothes and has 32 boutiques across the U.S. and Canada. But the chain has relationships with designers, including Herve Leger, Fendi, Yves Saint Laurent,

#GIVEAWAY: Win This Limited Edition FOTINI Scarf ($250 value)

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Cindy B. and @bethanymariebphoto-6

I LOVE my FOTINI scarf! So much so that I wore it in my recent Essie/BaubleBar Campaign (and it tied the whole outfit together). It’s been a staple in my wardrobe for the past few months and I don’t see that changing anytime soon — I’m convinced it’s season-less.  The limited edition scarf is made from 100% silk georgette. And the print was designed personally by Fotini herself and created in collaboration with RATTI the world’s leader in prints located in Como, Italy.

I’m giving TWO lucky readers a chance to win!

The perfect holiday hair combo: Fekkai and Jennifer Behr!

IMG_4861‘Tis the season to glam up your tresses and Fekkai definitely taught me a thing or two about holiday hair! I recently visited the salon for what can only be described as a complete hair transformation. Fekkai teamed up with hair accessories designer Jennifer Behr for the evening and her collection makes for the perfect accent for any holiday look.

With the cold months ahead one of the first battles when it comes to healthy hair is combating winter dryness. Fekkai recently launched their PrX Reparatives Collection, which is designed to transform dry unmanageable hair into soft silky hair with movement. The collection consists of the PrX Shampoo ($30-$49), PRX Conditioner ($30-$49), PrX Preparative Intensive Fortifying Mask ($49) and PrX Reparatives 3 Day Transformation ($100).IMG_4877

My fabulous Fekkai stylist, Hos Hounkpatin, used the shampoo and conditioner on my hair as well as Fekkai styling products and as embarrassing as it is
