Makeup10

The Makeup Show is not only a trade show or a place to shop beauty products (at steep discounts) and take classes, it’s also a place to get inspired, share your knowledge and connect with industry professionals. In honor of the 10-year anniversary, this years Makeup show will be filled with classes, keynotes, kit focused seminars and a career fair and new beauty tour.  And to mark this major milestone they will be hosting a week (yes, a week!) of events, from April 29th – May 5th.

Coachella Diaries: Day 2 with Patricia Field

After a  super packed day 1 of Coachella (check out the full recap HERE), we decided for day 2 (Saturday, April 12th) we’d take the morning off and start the day with Pandora jewelry. Hosted at the Parker Hotel where we were staying, Pandora did a super cool activation during Coachella in which every day they partnered with a different designer and featured an exclusive runway show. Friday night they kicked off with Siwy Denim, Saturday with Nanette Lepore and Plenty by Tracy Reese and Sunday with WHit.

Coachella Diaries: Day 1 with Patricia Field

It’s hard to believe Coachella has come and gone! James and I had so much fun this season and having Patricia Field as our date is every bit as awesome as you would imagine and more! The three of us hit some miles in our Chevy Trax (which was the perfect travel car!) in our 4 days in Palm Springs (plus two in LA!).

hard rock cafe coachella party

We kicked off Coachella the night before the music festival at the “Not a Pool Party” kick off at Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs. Headlining the event was Elliphant, who unfortunately we left before she went on (had to rest up for the 1st day of Coachella)! We did however catch, PPL MVR, which was by far one of the strangest performances I have ever seen (and that says a lot).

Real Simple Hosts Beauty & Balance Event

Real Simple Beauty Balance EventOn Friday, Real Simple magazine hosted their annual Beauty & Balance event at the Andaz hotel in NYC. It was the perfect de-stress day after a long red-eye home from LA (and my gearing up to be on another plane tomorrow). I took my first Pure Barre class — I know I’m late to the party on this trend — but I totally get the hype! I engaged muscles in my abs that have probably been asleep for the past decade and it’s an incredible class for anyone looking to tone and build strength (and flexibility) throughout their whole body. When I’m back from my whirlwind travels, I’m going back.

Promotional Items People Actually Want (As Seen at SXSW)

cool promotional merchandise

If there’s one thing every person has is a promotional item. Whether it’s a pen, reusable bag, or a tee shirt, you see brand logos on everything. Personally, I’m not big on being a walking advertisement and normally pass on taking them — however since being out at SXSW I have to say the tech brands know what’s up! Mixed in with all the usual branded merchandise I past on accepting, I thought I’d give a shout out to all the brands that are doing it right! Take note PR peeps, this is the stuff we actually want!

Share Your Beauty Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary in NYC

lesportsac share your beauty eventIt’s been an exciting week! This month we celebrate the 1 year anniversary of my Share Your Beauty program! As some of you know, last year I joined forces with the poverty relief non-profit organization Family-to-Family and together we created Share Your Beauty; the first beauty donation program, where we organize drives and events to collect beauty and hygiene products and deliver them to shelters and teen centers in NYC and the tri-state area.
