Super Saturday

Yesterday, my friend Lorna from thefabulousreport.com and I drove to the Hamptons to celebrate Super Saturday in benefity of OCRFA. I’m usually out of town for it so this year I marked my calendar weeks in advance. OCRFA is the largest global charity advancing and advocation for ovarian cancer research. Their Super Saturday event is a daylong shopping event that brings top luxury brand names in fashion, accessories, beauty, children’s, and home at major discounts with all the sales from the day going to the cause.

Hosted by Donna Karen, Gabby Karen de Felice and Kelly Ripa, it was a beautiful day, filled with food, drinks, carnival rides and of course stellar shopping. So needless to say, I felt completely guilt free over all my splurges. Especially considering the day raised about $3.5 million dollars for the cause! I went double time at the Henri Bendel, LeSportsac, Jill Stuart, Nicole Miller and surprisingly Talbots booth. I snagged so much fun stuff! And Charlie made the Henri Bendel instagram page!

I have to admit though I didn’t make it to every booth. I was a little distracted with all the rides and whenever I bring Charlie anywhere I spend half my day meeting people and being asked a million questions. Plus having only one arm to shop is a good way to control my spending habits. Other activities included making your own flower crown with B Floral. I went with a white assortment to match my outfit but they had so many beautiful flowers for guests to choose from.

Easy Breezy in Free People

It’s been a hot week! I wore this Free People dress yesterday not even thinking I’d turn it into a style post but was so overwhelmed by the compliments I got on it I thought I’d share the details. Especially since it’s on mega sale and I’m having a major moment for all things off-the-shoulder and dresses that have pockets! It’s on sale from it’s original $98 price tag on Bloomingdale’s website for $49.99 and Macy’s has it in white for $59.99! Also the dress comes in white!!!  I’m thinking I may need a second for all the scorching days to come! I’ve also been rocking my new Soho Backpack from Henri Bendel all week. Now that Charlie is in my arms all the time backpacks are my world!

I Burned 3,000 Calories Doing this Body Treatment

Brush Smarter with Plaque HD Toothpaste

I’m a child of the 90s so I have a deep appreciation for anything that turns color from those tablets that turned our teeth pink to identify plaque to color-changing, heat sensitive tee shirts which I wish I still owned. The nostalgia alone made me excited to try the new, first-of-its kind toothpaste introduced by Plaque HD, which contains plant-based, all natural teal disclosing agents to color and identify clear plaque build-up on teeth.

Sexy, right? Maybe not, but it makes brushing a little fun. Crop Top + Flare Pants

I was definitely feeling a bit of a 70s meets 90s vibe this weekend with this H&M crop top and these retro oh so slightly flair pants Ella Moss Layla Flare Leg Pants (on sale!). They were the only pair of pants I packed for my staycation since they are so lightweight and comfortable, and fit me perfectly. There are my first pair of pants from Ella Moss and now I want a million. I also took the weekend to play with the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour collection and wanted to create an outfit around the deep wine shade, High Drama (swatches and full review with more shades HERE). Most people think dark shades are just for fall and winter but I think it’s always fun to break them out every now and again in summer.

This weekends staycation at the Renaissance Hotel was so relaxing and I figured out my favorite way to take in Times Square — it’s from my rooms balcony. No crowds, and with an impeccable view to just take in and appreciate what all of these tourists come to see, and what most of us New Yorkers take for granted. And then I can close the door when I’ve had enough and enjoy my private oasis of a hotel room that’s so quiet that I feel like I could be anywhere in the world.

The best part and most unexpected about staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square was as soon as we entered our hotel room, there wasn’t a single outdoor noise. So much so that I forget about the endless tourists outside my window and the central air was so cool I was oblivious to the heat wave. That is of course until Charlie needed to be walked and I figured I should take advantage of the shopping, people watching and use all of the above as an excuse to wear all of the cute summer dresses I packed for the weekend.ella-moss-bright-dress

If there’s one thing I learned this weekend it’s that staycations are all they are cracked up to be. Charlie and I partnered with the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square this weekend and it’s been one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had in a long time.  And the best part of being 15 minutes from my apartment is I didn’t overpack. Instead I brought a bunch of lightweight dresses in anticipation of this weekends heat wave and some of my cult favorite beauty and skincare products as well as an assortment of MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolours which launched earlier this year.  MAC-Retro-Matte-Liquid-Lipcolour

I’m usually gravitate to the brightest pink but surprisingly the more dusted pink shade, Divine Divine shade (I’m wearing above) was one of my favorites. The consistency is similar to Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks and like many of the true liquid mattes it is a little drying but the stay power is excellent. And  the pigment and shade range is gorgeous. There are 20 shades in the collection, five of which are swatched below:

Miami Swim Diaries

We flew in Friday afternoon, checking into the Townhouse Hotel, which is a humble boutique hotel perfectly located on 20th and Collins next to the Miami Swim venue. With beach and rooftop access the rooms were small but comfortable and the location could not have been more prime.
