As many of you know thanks to your countless votes I was the proud winner of the Ferragamo “W List”. The prize was a bag from their Spring/Summer collection (drool).

Last month my mystery bag arrived and to my great disappointment, it was –errr–ahh–not my style (you remember the post I wrote).  Unfortunately, when everyone you know and even more people you don’t voted for you, it poses the never-ending chain of emails and Facebook message of “did you get your bag yet?”

Winning a bag out of the support of so many is something I wanted to wear loud and proud, which is why I took a memorable stroll to the counter and exchanged it for what could be the new love of my life. After all of

Just now the door buzzer went off and it was FedEx dropping off a HUGE box for me! I checked the return label and it was from Ferragamo. You cannot imagine my excitement; my bag!!! As most of you know I entered The W List by Ferragamo competition which if you made it to the top 5 (of the list that is) you win a Ferragamo bag from their Spring/Summer 2011 runway collection. Ferragamo also selected one additional winner from the entire list who they deemed worthy of winning based on their inspiration. After months of posting, facebooking, tweeting and all around spamming the universe in a campaign to get my friends, followers, coworkers, family and well –just about anyone who was game to vote for me, I’m pleased to announce I was one of the winners of Ferragamo’s W List.

For anyone not familiar with the promotion, Ferragamo invited the public to sign up on their W List and disclose what inspires their style. Then through the ranking system, contingent on how many votes you received you would move up the list.  The first person on the list received

Today, Salvadore Ferragamo launched a really cool social media campaign and as a social media consultant I think it’s actually quite brilliant.  Basically Ferragamo invites you to disclose what inspires you and your style. Then through a ranking system, the person who receives the most votes makes it to the top of the W List.  The winner has the opportunity to inspire a one-of-a-kind custom W bag designed just for you by Ferragamo Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti. If you come in 2nd-5th place you will be gifted a special edition Spring/Summer 2011 runway W bag.  And no matter were one lands on the list, Massimiliano will be looking to hand-pick someone he finds especially inspiring to receive one last special edition W bag.
