Coachella Diaries: Neon Carnival, Victoria’s Secret Angel Oasis, Nylon, Bumbleland and more!

Coachella is always my favorite time of the year and this season, the parties were especially epic! The classics like Neon Carnival, I always look forward to as well as some new events like Victoria’s Secret Angel Oasis. This year we made it a double date and I traveled around with my girl, Kristi from Currently Crushing. COACHELLA DAY 1

Pre-festival hike with with Asics and Cobra Fitness Club.

If you’re in the Palm Springs Area, the Tahquitz Canyon Trail is a beautiful way to start the day. Asics outfitted guests outfits including these ASICS DynaFlyte sneakers for a pre-festival hike.

Victoria’s Secret VS Angel Oasis

This party did not disappoint, set in a beautiful mansion and with impeccable grounds there was not a shortage of activations or VS Angels dancing! They customized Levi’s denim jackets with angel wings by Phoebe Paints and Julia Adelina. Sarah Potempa of The Beachwaver and her team were doing hair (just like at the VS Fashion Show!), while Tarte was on makeovers (yes, their Shape Tape is everything it’s cracked up to be), and LECHAT was providing nail art and gel manicures. Frasier Sterling was also customizing chokers and RAD + REFINED was bedazzling their sunglasses and featured a special performance by Bebe Rexha! They also debuted their new Sexy Little Things collection, which is so hot! Quick slide show below of some favorites!

Victoria’s Secret Launches NEW Fragrance Victoria with Angel Behati Prinsloo

Victoria's Secret Angel, Behati PrinslooLast week, I joined Victoria’s Secret Angel, Behati Prinsloo and Victoria’s Secret Beauty President Susie Coulter at 620 Loft and Garden in Rockefeller Center for the launch of the brands new iconic fragrance, Victoria by Victoria’s Secret. While Prinsloo has been a VS Angel for some time this is her biggest campaign with the brand as the face of the fragrance. And she could not be more excited! As she took the stage in front of an audience of editors and bloggers, practically in tears (of joy that is), she expressed her gratitude to the brand, claiming this the best day of her life. And it’s easy to understand why. Coulter praised her for having all of the traits that embody this fragrance, which made her the natural choice for the campaign. The event also came mere days  after she was proposed to by Maroon 5 front man and coach of “The Voice”, Adam Levine. After the presentation I had some time with Angel who told me, “They came to me and told me the concept and I was really just so honored to be asked to be apart of it. I didn’t smell it until after we did the pictures, and I smelled it and I was like ‘thank the lord!’, it’s great! It’s like me, it’s subtle, it’s beautiful, it’s feminine, but it’s also got a little bit of an edge to it without being too over the top or too sweet.”

Talking Valentine’s Day with Victoria’s Secret Angels Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge

When getting ready for Valentine’s Day what better place to stop for some last minute gifts then Victoria’s Secret? I recently visited the Herald Square location to do a little shopping and meet two of VS’s Angels, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge!

LARA: What’s the best part about being an Angel?

CANDICE: It’s definitely a big title that every model wants and the recognition you get from the industry and the world, but for me the best thing is being able to travel to beautiful islands and to call the beach my office. That and being with the best people every time.

LARA: What are you most looking forward to on Valentine’s Day?

CANDICE: I’m funny on Valentine’s Day, I don’t expect too much. I do try to step out of comfort zone and wear something sexy and different. Also my boyfriend should plan something nice for us, it’s his day too.

VS launches new Body by Victoria and Love My Body collection angel style!

This morning I awoke to perfect weather, a gorgeous roof top, and supermodels and indulged in some yoga (poolside), polished off by a mid-morning massage. If only the next line of this post read “welcome to my life.” (A girl can dream…) This is in fact not my general routine — I’m not a morning person — however, when Angels, are involved, anything is possible!

Halloween is a fun time of year when you can really go outside your comfort zone and play dress up without any concern about looking too ridiculous or over-dressed.  This year, I decided to be Kim Kardashian.  It was very entertaining creating this costume considering it was my first ‘stuff my bra/butt experience.’  It also gave me an opportunity to test a lot of products.

Here’s a quick excerpt of the my Kim Kardashian look (more detailed review to come):

HAIR:

Redken Go Clean Shampoo and Finish Up Conditioner – Love it! This is part of Redken’s men’s line but it works really well on my hair.  Great lather, my hair comes out shiny and well, clean.  But yes, you’ll smell like a dude.  When men ask me for a list of products I recommend for them, this is always on the list (unless they have color treated hair).

Ken Paves Professional Styling Iron – Part of Ken Paves’ Travel line, is this lightweight straightener, which is fast becoming my everyday straightener – it’s that good.  Originally I was apprehensive about this product since I didn’t think ‘one heat setting fits all’ is viable for flat irons; however it gets very hot (up to 410 degrees F), which is what is really necessary for my curly hair.  Warning, if you generally use your flat iron on a low heat setting, this may not be the product for you.  Unless of course the heat settings automatically adjusts based on hair need, but either way there is no dial to manually control it.  I will investigate this further and report back.

Living Proof Straight Making No Frizz Styling Treatment – a great protective cream for when you’re using a flat iron or blow-drying your hair.  Helps fight frizz and only requires a small dollop to service your entire scalp.  It’s no wonder this line has been winning so many prestigious beauty awards!

Cutler Specialist Fly-Away Control Stick – This is my go to product for fly aways. Shaped like a deodorant stick, I just roll them over problematic areas and I’m all set for the entire evening.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Out Hold Hairspray – This product fell a little flat.  It has great hold, but didn’t maintain the volume I was hoping for.

LIPS:

L’Oreal Infallible Plumping Lip Gloss in Plumped Pink and Plumped Red – It tingles a bit, and I definitely felt a little plumping action taking place, but having pretty full lips already, it wasn’t

Victoria’s Secret to the Rescue!

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Week Suite at the Loft at the Byrant Park Hotel was a welcome respite for attendees taking a break from the tents and in need of some papering.  Offering beverages and snacks, as well as manicures in their new fall shades, guests had a place to just hang out and relax in between shows.
