Mondo’s Project Runway All Stars Dress Now Available at Nanette Lepore
On Thursday Night, I had the pleasure of joining the surviving cast members of Project Runway All Stars and Nanette Lepore at her store in SoHo for a private viewing party of that night’s episode. With only four contestants left, Mondo Guerra, Austin Scarlett, Kenley Collins and Michael Costello, this was a particularly exciting episode considering it would determine the 3 finalists that would be showing in the finale (for their chance to have their collection sold at Neiman Marcus!).
Nanette Lepore was a guest judge on the episode (along with Gorgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi) and the winner of the challenge would have their design sold at her store with the proceeds going to Save the Garment District. Despite some difficulty in hearing the episode from within the store, it was really exciting being with the designers as they showcased their designs, although much more nerve racking over waiting for the announcement of who was in and out. In all honesty, at the level these finalist are at I thought all the designs we’re good. Austin, was safe, Mondo won and Kenley and Michael fell to the bottom. Michael design was a little long but I thought otherwise very LA and wearable (it reminds me of a T-Bags dress I once owned) and Kenley, who despite picking a fabulous print, cut the print a little off and was eliminated.
Once the winner was announced, the designers final garments we’re put in the store for display and Mondo’s mass-produced design went on the racks officially for sale ($298). It’s so cute and spring, and I love that it has pockets! Congratulations Mondo!

Happy Birthday Daniel Vosovic
Last month Daniel Vosovic celebrated the showing of his Fall 2011 RTW collection and today we celebrate his birthday.
Fun fact: Dan and I went to college together –good ol’ Fashion Institute of Technology. And we were RA’s –people love making fun of me for that tidbit (my favorite ex-boyfriend used to refer to this time as “when I was a hall monitor”). I’d shower this post with old photographs but frankly I think I burned them all. Since our college days, the former Project Runway star, has gone on to write a book (it’s in my fashion library–okay fine, it’s bookcase) and successfully launch many collections and I could not be prouder. I get to follow him behind this year attend his RTW show. What really enhanced the experience is being seated next to another former RA with us –Marissa, the Market Editor for Seventeen reunions. It’s amazing how much changes in just a couple-errr, more-than-a-few years.
Check out the video from his Fall 2011 RTW Show:
Happy Birthday Dan! Cheers to you!

Week in Review (9.20 – 9.24)– Parties, Places, and Happenings
Monday (20th) – I attended the Swarovski Elements ‘22 Ways to Say Black’ charity auction. Hosted at Phillips de Pury, I registered for a paddle and partook in the auction, although I came home empty handed. The event raised over $100,000 to benefit breast cancer research. Guests in attendance included Halle Berry, Julianna Margulies, and Sofia Vergara.
Tuesday (21st) – The first day of the Fashion Coterie Sole Commerce show at Jacob Javitt center! I spent the day at the Chocolat Blu booth lusting over these shoes! I have to wait til Spring 2011 to add them to my collection. That should give me enough time to decide which color I want.
That evening I took my first Pole Dancing class (Intro to Pole Dancing, taught by Bonnie Fischer) at NY Pole. I’m not one for working out (I try, I just get bored), and I’m incredibly shy, so walking into the small studio, I was a little nervous. However, my friend and I had a blast! It was so fun, and we both felt so comfortable that it wasn’t scary at all. It was such a great workout and the time flew by. I even learned a thing or two;)
Wednesday (22nd) – I was a bad girl and joined my cousin at the Hermes sample sale. Meet my new friend (above). Love my scarf, but I’m officially cut off.
That evening the lovely Erika (from Shoes, Shirts, and Other Sh!t) and I attended the Baby-G & Hellz Collaboration Release Party featuring DJ Elle at 1Oak. Creating two signature watches, L.A. based designer Hellz and Casio Baby-G watches featured 80’s pop fashion homage to the NYC streets. What do you think of them? Better than the poor excuse of a drink 1Oak served up? Agreed. What can I say 1Oak if you’re not offering an open bar and are going to charge $18 a drink, put some alcohol in it.
Thursday (23rd) – Back to the Coterie show, this time to hang out with former Project Runway contestant, Daniel Feld and model his new line, Kymerah. I WANT IT ALL! I will post more about the line shortly.
After the show, I headed to
