After announcing their partnership with actor and musician Bryan Greenberg (star of HBO’s “How To Make It In America”) at a recent press conference, Casio celebrated the official launch of their new men’s watch line, Edifice Black Label.

The collection is comprised of six styles ranging in price from $150 to $500. Sleek and functional, these water resistant, multifunction metal analog watches are equipped with stopwatch capabilities, LSI-controlled hand movements, world time, daily alarms, solar power and multi-layered dials.

The NEW as you like it Clinique Counter at Lord & Taylor Fifth Avenue

By now most of you New Yorkers have seen the rose adorned advertisements and shopping bags around the city for the announcement of Lord and Taylor’sUltimate Face-lift’. A $25 million endeavor the company invested in the renovation of the iconic department store’s Fifth Avenue location.

Although I was beyond honored to receive an invitation from Brendan Hoffman to the unveiling of  ‘The Ultimate Face-Lift’, I was unable to attend the gala (it was my birthday!). However, I did stop by Lord & Taylor that week for a preview and guided tour of the new Clinique counter. My guides, Clinique’s Anthony Battaglia, Vice President, Global Retail Design and Visual Merchandising and Cherie Werle, Education Executive and Makeup and Skin Care Expert, took me through the new shopping experience they created, based on Clinique’s service as you like it concept.

What does that mean? It literally means service as YOU like it.  From self service to full service Clinique’s organized the counter to cater to their clientele’s needs at all levels, through clear, concise messaging and merchandising that it is not intimidating or overwhelming.

For customers looking for a skin care analysis or application tips, they can enjoy a one-on-one experience with a staff member at the Clinique Full Service consultation table.  Equipped with a diagnostic mirror (which the consultant can

Rally to Restore Insanity and/or Fear

Over Halloween weekend, I took the train to Washington, DC for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s  ‘Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear’; which was pure  insanity (in a good way). I don’t think Colbert or Stewart knew their own strength when organizing the rally, so unfortunately there weren’t enough monitors or strong enough audio to really understand what was going on stage.  Even so, it was incredibly inspiring to hear their muffled voices over

Birthday Bliss

Lara's 27th Birthday Celebration at SPiN New York

I’m not a very big birthday person. I used to be when I was younger; my mom would stress out over what to do for me ‘since nothing was ever good enough’.  I supposed I just wanted to feel special on my big day, although looking back that’s pretty funny.  Then again it did make for some very memorable birthdays.

This year I had mixed feelings about even celebrating; however after traveling most of the summer I realized it was the perfect excuse to just invite everyone I haven’t seen in months and whoever showed showed, whoever didn’t, no big deal. It fell on a Tuesday so I wasn’t expecting a crazy turnout anyways.

Considering it was my day and I get to do whatever I wanted, it came as no surprise to most that I decided to have it the ping pong social club/bar, SPiN. I wanted to do something fun and low key that didn’t require a lot of planning, had a bar and served food. And the best part about SPiN is how spacious it is (and I never have to worry about feeling too crowded whether I have 10 or 100 guests). Plus the owners Franck and Jon are practically my brothers, so it
