Last week marked the first ever Mudderella event; a 6 miles long obstacle course featuring 15 challenges! The event, which is designed for women kicked off in Tamiment, Pennsylvania in the Poconos. With start times every 20 minutes, my team amped up with fake tattoos, purple face paint, and some instructional stretching all compliments of the course prior to the motivational speech at the start line by the Mudderella crew.
Rainbow Bright: Color Me Rad 5K!
It takes a lot to get me up at 6am on a Sunday morning, but earlier this month I was thrilled to join the early birds for a run. At the Color Me Rad race you start out fresh and clean (we recommend wearing white) but once the race starts the color party begins! Color Bombs of pink, purple, yellow, green and blue are tossed at you in colorful hazes as you run a 5K. By the end of the race you are pumped up, and a tie-dyed hippy vision of color and happiness (minus a few calories)! The Pretty Connected Team had a blast creating our own color powder wars, hula hooping, running, and dancing! All sober and all before 11 am!
{Making memories and busting calories! Yeah!}
{We all finished looking more “RAD” then ever!}
{Warming up our killer dance moves before we joined the crowd around the DJ for some more color bombing.}
This was so much fun! If your looking to get in shape with some friends or family this is defiantly something to look into. All the color does come off your skin and hair with a little extra soap and scrubbing.
Claire Bowen & Sam Palladio Rock the Summer with Self Magazine
Last night, Self Magazine hosted their Rocks the Summer event in honor of their July music issue at NYC’s PH-D at the Dream Hotel Downtown. And what kind of music celebration would it be without some steller music, which was flown in straight from Nashville (literally and figuratively). Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio of the ABC hit series, Nashville, flew in from Nashville to perform 3 songs in front of the live audience; including their first duet together on the show, If I Didn’t Know Better. Lucy Danziger, editor-in-chief of Self Magazine, made a joke about all of us wanting to be Clare and wanting to date Sam, which judging by all the sighs in the room was pretty spot on. Whether or not you’ve seen the show, it was next to impossible to watch the performance and not consider yourself a fan. They are so talented (and handsome, and they have accents, she’s Australian, he’s British — just saying).
Other highlights include getting my hands on the new summer collection from Essie nail polish, which was one of the event sponsors. All the signature cocktails being served we’re inspired by different shades from the collection. And also seeing Snooki (there’s something I thought I’d never say), who is now the size of my pinky (no seriously, she’s like a size 0). It was impossible not to stare…

Working out with Blink Fitness and Therafit
I’m on a fitness kick! Or rather I’m trying to motivate myself to be and had a great boost by Therafit Shoes and Blink Fitness!
Owned by Equinox, Blink Fitness is a newer chain of gyms that has been popping up all over NYC and is only $20/month! (Yes, I said $20/month). Don’t let the price fool you, it’s a really nice, clean gym with top-of-the-line equipment, TVs on cardio machines, comfortable locker rooms and a super friendly staff. Designed to make you work smarter, not harder to get maximum results, I took a the Bootcamp class at their new Murray Hill location with instructor, Stefanie Jordan and she packed the class with a whole lot of fun exercises that had me sore for 2 days after!
As part of the class I got to test out Therafit “Renee” sneaker! Developed by Dr. Lisa Matsterson of the Emmy Award winning series, The Doctors, Therafit is a line of footwear she created to
Color me rad… Lets do this!
When When one of my writers approached me about covering the Color Me Rad 5k race it sent the office in an uproar. Every person that’s ever been affiliated with this site and/or the consulting end of my enterprise wanted to be apart of it. I mean how could they not it’s running with a dash (okay not just a dash, maybe
