Talking Valentine’s Day with Victoria’s Secret Angels Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge

IMG_6112

When getting ready for Valentine’s Day what better place to stop for some last minute gifts then Victoria’s Secret? I recently visited the Herald Square location to do a little shopping and meet two of VS’s Angels, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge!

LARA: What’s the best part about being an Angel?

CANDICE: It’s definitely a big title that every model wants and the recognition you get from the industry and the world, but for me the best thing is being able to travel to beautiful islands and to call the beach my office. That and being with the best people every time.

LARA: What are you most looking forward to on Valentine’s Day?

CANDICE: I’m funny on Valentine’s Day, I don’t expect too much. I do try to step out of comfort zone and wear something sexy and different. Also my boyfriend should plan something nice for us, it’s his day too.

Candice’s V-Day Gift Picks:

Very Sexy Push-Up Bra $55 – $68
Very Sexy Lace Garter Slip: $88
Victoria’s Secret Eau De Parfum Gift Set: $45
Victoria’s Secret Vosges Chocolates

LARA: What’s the best part about being an Angel?

LILY: Everything! It’s the best job in the world, I’m so blessed to be apart of Victoria’s Secret. It’s so much fun and getting to do the fasihon show and being the face of the company. It’s just such an honor.

Elettra Wiedemann’s Exclusive Interview with Diane von Furstenburg (& Carolina Herrera)

If you don’t know Elettra Wiedemann by now, you should. The Supermodel (she’s a spokesmodel for Lancome and has done countless campaigns), entrepreneur (she started the GOODNESS fashion week pop-up restaurants), and philanthropist (she also co-founder of the non-profit onefrickinday.org), has a new venture!

NYFW: Charlotte Ronson Fall 2013 Fashion Presentation + Samantha Ronson’s Playlist

Charlotte Ronson Fall 2013

The Charlotte Ronson Fall/Winter 2013 collection was inspired by British Rock and Roll. There was a definite trend of leather, color blocked florals, and gray wool blends that streamed through the collection. From slouchy grunge

Spring Preview: G.H. Bass & Co.

Founded in the 1870’s, G.H. Bass & Co (named after it’s found Gearge Henry Bass) is a brand with true american heritage. What I appreciate most about the collection is while the label has evolved, (especially in their color range) it’s still a classic brand showcasing their iconic weejuns (the original penny loafer), saddle shoes and boat shoe styles. Combining New England prep, rugged outdoor design there are some new modern

Prabal Gurung for Target Launch Party

Prabal for Target

In what could easily be described as the best event I’ve been to in the new year — and hands down most creative, the Prabal Gurung for Target launch party at Pier 57 in NYC was out of this world. Or rather out of a carnival. With classic rides, including a carousel and games you’d see at a fair, there was a break in the middle for a stage. With it being hush, hush as to who would perform when out came Ne-yo!

Hopefully you caught my writeup on the celebrity studded, walk for a cause Red Dress show (if not, click HERE), which took place last night at Hammerstein Ballroom. Here’s a peek into backstage, moments before the stars stepped onto the runway…

Heart Truth: Celebs Kick off NYFW with Red Dress Collection

IMG_2309

Infamous for kicking off NYFW, every fall fashion week season, The Heart Truth Dress Red Dress Show premiered this eve at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. With celebrities as models, A-Listers walked the runway in the name of healthy hearts reminding women everywhere of their role in the fight against heart disease. This years lineup included Kelly Osbourne, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Toni Braxton, Jillian Michaels,

Cynthia Rowley hosts LYSOL Touch of Foam Launch Party

IMG_5999Lysol’s sanitizing a whole new surface as of recent, your hands! This week we celebrated the launch of Touch of Foam Antibacterial Hand Wash, a rich, creamy rinse that is soft on skin and hard on germs. It works on contact to kill 99.9% of germs, while moisturizer‐enriched micro‐bubbles leave hands feeling soft and comfortable.

Hosted by fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley, (Sign, I love her!), the duo announced that they are partnering to launch the CYNTHIA ROWLEY + Touch of Foam Label Design Contest on Lysol’s Facebook page. Come March, Facebook fans can compete for their chance to win a trip to NYC Fashion Week and a $5k shopping spree. (Follow Lysol on Facebook to stay in the know!)

I tested out the product at the event and it’s surprisingly foamy! It left my hands so clean — almost too clean and they we’re so soft for well over an hour. And considering I’m one of those people that has the hand soap and moisturizer as separates in their bathroom, it’s super convenient having a 2 in 1.

#ThrowbackSunday 16 NYFW Highlights

I know, I know it’s supposed to be #ThrowbackThursday, but considering by then we’ll be back in New York Fashion Week again, I thought I’d take a moment to highlight the top 16 moments that went down during the Spring/Summer 2013 shows from this past September.

Prabal Gurung for Target Launches Feb 10th

I LOVE Prabal. I met him once at an event I was producing a few years back and was literally so in aww of him, I couldn’t speak. His designs slay me… and come February 10th, I can afford them! That’s right, he’s doing a collaboration with Target and instead of the price tags reflecting upwards of $1500, this collection starts at $15! With over 80+ looks (we’re talking clothes, bags, shoes and accessories), here are some of my favorites:
