Let Get Lost this Spring with UGG Australia

Whatever preconceived notion you have of sheepskin and boots when you think  of UGG just ignore (or at least re-imagine) when it comes to spring! Hosted at the Egyptian restaurant, Casa La Femme, UGG threw a Lets Get Lost party where they unveiled their Spring 2013 collection. Vibrant patterns, animal prints and woven leathers dominated the collection throughout the offering of shoes, handbags and accessories. The shoes housed a variety of feminine silhuettes ranging from flats, to wedges to espadrilles. While there were several must-have women’s items (I need to order those cheetah or zebra flats stat), I was incredibly impressed by the mens collection — super solid. Chic styles mixed with UGG’s infamous comfort is a recipe sought up in foot heaven.

The School of American Ballet Annual Winter Ball Raises $1.1 Million and a moment with Carolina Herrera…

It was an enchanting evening… everything you’d expect and more from The School of American Ballet’s 2013 Winter Ball. Themed A Night in the Far East, the annual charity gala raised more than $1.1 Million for Scholarships and School Programs. Hosted at the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center earlier this week, the evening was sponsored by legendary French MaisonVan Cleef & Arpels. Cocktails began at 7pm and dinner at 8pm, followed by a one-time-only performance by the advanced students of The School of American Ballet choreographed by Silas Farley, who was selected by Peter Martins, Artistic Chairman of The School of American Ballet.

 “We are thrilled to announce that we achieved our goal of $1.1 million.  The overwhelming generosity of our sponsor Van Cleef as well as our attendees and donors made for a fantastic celebration last night,” said Margie Van Dercook, executive director of The School of American Ballet.  “Their much-appreciated donations will provide scholarships to aspiring young dancers as well as support the School’s student life programs.”

Fashion 2.0 Awards: And the winner is…

Last night the social-ably savvy fashion community joined the Style Coalition at the SVA Theatre in NYC for the 4th Annual Fashion 2.0 Awards. Hosted by Robert Verdi with Simon Doonan, Creative Ambassador at Large, Barneys New York as the Keynote Speaker. It was so great to be apart of such a fabulous evening that celebrates the most innovative brands in social media and had so many of my amazing blogger friends as presenters! All the ladies (and gentleman — now Style Coalition is open to menswear bloggers) looked dazzling in gowns from Rent the Runway, that sponsored their wardrobe. Their founders Jennifer Hyman and Jenny Fleiss were also presented with the Fashion 2.0 Visionary Award in acknowledgement of their achievements in disrupting the retail industry and democratizing luxury fashion. Color Me Polka Dots {Sponsored}

As we count down to spring, one trend that always resurfaces around this time is the polka dot. While the classic navy/white, red/white and black/white combination will always be a staple, this season it’s time to take things up a notch and add a splash of color. Some great ways to do that is with a scarf or accessory. Keep the outfit clean and polished, then add a dash of color (yellow is always a fun choice) or bright accessory to make the look pop. What’s so great about adding a polkda dot or bright accent is (as seen below) take out the scarf, accessories and shoes from any of the looks below and you have a very polished, spring look, then add them in and it reinvents it with some added personality and fun. PC Hosts PANDORA Grand Opening with Lucky Magazine

On Thursday night, I partnered with Lucky Magazine to host the grand opening of the new PANDORA store in SoHo alongside Lucky’s Accessories Editor, Melissa Lum and fellow blogger, Helena Glazer of Brooklyn Blonde. It was a charmed night, filled with bubbly, shopping and some of the most delectable cupcakes I’ve had to date. (Note to self, next time I’m in Williamsburg, stop by Sips & Bites).

PANDORA I’m huge into customizing and personalizing your own looks so imagine how much fun it was to host an event where guests literally had hundreds of charms to choose from. Plus, much like me PANDORA is all about mixing and stacking jewelry from rings, to bracelets to necklaces so I had a blast helping fans play dress up. And then there was the stories… one customer was telling me how every year for her birthday her boyfriend buys her a new charm. Another had been collecting them since High School and was almost done with her bracelet.
