It’s been two years since the last Harry Potter film was released but fans have far from forgotten about their Hogwarts friends. Clearly a classic, the films are destined to inspire a world a magic for generations to come. Or so is evident by the line that formed to meet the infamous “Weasley Twins,” James and Oliver Phelps at the Harry Potter: The Exhibition at NYC’s Discovery Times Square (the exhibit runs through April 7th learn more HERE). Starting at 4am a line formed that wrapped around the corner to meet the twins. — they we’ren’t scheduled to arrive until 11am.

After hours of signing autographs, I sat down with the dynamic duo

Allison_Tavi_KatieMARLO1

Upon walking into the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center for the red carpet premiere of the documentary MAKERS: Women Who Make America”, I immediately felt this a ridiculous fierce energy just knowing I was surrounded by some of the most groundbreaking women in America.  Proudly presented by PBS, AOL and Simple Facial Skincare, in walked the likes of Gloria Steinem, Allison Williams, Katie Couric, Amy Goodman, Marlo Thomas (alongside husband, Phil Donanhue) and Tavi Gevinson (to name a few).  As part of a sneak preview of the documentary, they let guests view the 1st hour and  part of the third.  The film is a unique initiative that documents the extraordinary impact women from all walks of life have made in America over the past 50 years. The ladies featured filled me with tears of inspiration and awe.

Mark your calendars (literally go get a pen!), MAKERS: Women Who Make America debuts on airs February 26, at 8PM on PBS.  Watch the preview here.

LARA: What’s the best part about being an Angel?

CANDICE: It’s definitely a big title that every model wants and the recognition you get from the industry and the world, but for me the best thing is being able to travel to beautiful islands and to call the beach my office. That and being with the best people every time.

LARA: What are you most looking forward to on Valentine’s Day?

CANDICE: I’m funny on Valentine’s Day, I don’t expect too much. I do try to step out of comfort zone and wear something sexy and different. Also my boyfriend should plan something nice for us, it’s his day too.

Candice’s V-Day Gift Picks:

Very Sexy Push-Up Bra $55 – $68
Very Sexy Lace Garter Slip: $88

PC Honored by Mondrian Soho x NMRKT

Nicole Miller top, d.brand slip fit denim black pants

You know what, I really like hosting events. I mean really, REALLY like hosting them. Last week I was honored alongside D.Brand as part of a monthly fashion series that NMRKT and Mondrian Soho produce. Every month, the duo picks a different blogger and designer to celebrate and lets them host a party. And at Mondrian’s Mister H no less!

So basically, dream venue (if you haven’t been it’s straight out of the 70s nightclub — red lighting, stripper poles — and yet somehow it’s still manages to be classy). What I like most is that it’s a very intimate space so you can actually enjoy your guests instead of having to search for them. I had a ball! Over 150 of my readers, pr peeps, bloggers and friends came to support. I was so humbled by the turn out and felt so honored to host such an incredible group.

If you’re not familiar with NMRKT or D.Brand, lets fix that! NMRKT hosts an incredibly cute site that poses the question, what are you in the market for, and then
