Now we’re going to get old school for a minute. Starting with Eight O’Clock coffee — remember them from your childhood? You’re parents probably do. The 150-year old brand is making a comeback and in a big way. For starters they have introduced new packaging, redesigned their website, and launched a variety of new flavors including African Plains, Caramel Macchiato, Dark Chocolate Cherry and Cinnamon Bun.
In celebration of their stylish ‘redress’ of their packaging, Eight O’Clock Coffee debuts the Red Bag Collection, which includes a series of designer inspired red bags that will be auctioned off on eBay. And as part of this new makeover the brand is teaming up with White Collar star Tiffani Thiessen, to debut The Red Bag Collection; with 100% of the proceeds from the auction being donated to Dress for Success®, an organization that supports women getting back into the work place.
Remember all of my covered as COVERGIRL’s red carpet corespondent for In Touch Weekly’s post-VMA Icons & Idols party? (If not click HERE). Well In Touch included a little blurb about my role in this weeks issue and picture of me with NERVO on the red carpet. (Turn to page 30!)
“COVERGIRL Red Carpet Correspondent, Lara Eurdolian, prettyconnected.com, chatted up VIPs about their favorite #COVERMOMENT of the night. But fashion and beauty weren’t the only things on display on the In Touch’s red hot, red carpet. COVERGIRL’s mani-cam invited guests to show off their rockstar nail art.”
Elie Tahari has come a long way since coming to this country with only $100 in his pocket. His first fashion job was out of Newark selling hats and gloves on the street and decades later he’s built a dynasty. It’s an inspiring story; one that continues today with yet another milestone in the designers career. Today, is Elie Tahari’s 40th Anniversary and with that he’s earned the accolade of a holiday. Going forward September 4th is now Elie Tahari Day! It doesn’t get more official then an opening speech by Joan Rivers and a signed proclamation by Mayor Bloomberg.
Yesterday I featured my new Jena boots from UGG Australia so I thought it would be fitting to give you a peek at all the amazing styles they have for fall! A few weeks back I stopped by the brand’s preview — and you know else was there? Brad Goreski. And while I love his polished bow-tie look, I’m not gonna lie, this more rugged laid back style was really working for me! (I almost didn’t recognize him).
To the beats of a New Orleans’ jazz band, guests indulged in a sneak peek of all the fall styles to come. Many are already available, including my Jena boot, but scroll through the below for the women’s offerings featuring a medley of clogs (with heels!), leather boots as well as adorned classic UGG boots.
Happy Friday! For this weeks #FreebieFridays we were inspired by the VMA’s and specifically Ciara who I had the pleasure of seeing on stage at last weeks. Man she can move! And from the red carpet to the stage, Ciara trusts Degree with motionSENSE to keep her constantly protected and smelling fresh.
This week, we’re giving away Ciara’s new self-titled album, autographed by Ciara and bottle of Degree motionSENSE to one lucky fan!
As the only deodorant with exclusive motionSENSE technology that’s activated by motion; the more you move (or dance!), the more it protects. And as part of their DO:MORE campaign, which encourages fans to do more of what they love, it doesn’t get too much better then Ciara to get inspired to push your limits.
There are 2 ways to enter (each option counts as a separate entry):

2. Follow us on twitter and tweet about the giveaway or how you ‘do more’ using the hashtag #PCgiveaway #domore OR TWEET: RT & follow @prettyconnected for ur chance to #win an autographed @Ciara CD + @DegreeWomen#domore #PCgiveaway http://bit.ly/145kuwk
Last night, live from In Touch Weekly’s Icons+Idols party I was tweeting up the red carpet like it was my job! Which of course it was, since I was fortunate enough to be the red carpet corespondent for COVERGIRL! I already posted about my outfit, now for the fun stuff of who was there and the inside scoop on the top celebs #covermoments of the day as well as their must have beauty item for the red carpet!
Jenny McCarthy has been making headlines what with recently being announced as the newest member of The View, and dating New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg. Her #covermoment was showing her son NYC for the first time and experiencing it through his eyes. Her must have red carpet product is powder — don’t want to be shiny on the red carpet.
Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland arrived in Marchesa and was super sweet! She had the same must-have product, powder as well as added lip gloss to the list.It was so great meeting Taryn Manning, who was wearing a great mix of H&M and vintage, with some Rag and Bone jeans. Paired with a killer red lip that really competed the look, it came as no surprise her must-have beauty item — lipstick.
COVERGIRL spokeswomen, and stylish DJ duo NERVO made a fashionable entrance on the red carpet — their style is sick!!! It’s super original and they always look amazing head to toe. Sporting some COVERGIRL Flammed Out Shadow Pots and Smoochies Lip Balm, we gushed over our love for the new Flammed Out Collection!! Their #covermoment was the moment before they stepped onto the red carpet and were getting their makeup done. Now my next guest is tough to say without singing his name… yes, I’m talking about Jason Derulo.
Well this is unexpected. After a highly suspenseful speech for the official unveiling of the global celebrity spokes person of Sexy Hair (from the description our money was on Katy Perry or Dita Von Teese), it turned out to be Marilyn Monroe. And not that she doesn’t embody the essence of Sexy Hair, but you know, she didn’t actually use the product considering it was decades after her passing that the brand even came into existence. And while it’s definitely weird she’s the new spokesperson, I’m willing to be imaginative enough that if she was actually still with us (and could speak for herself) this would be the brand on her vanity. After all, in the words of Marilyn herself,
Last night, Self Magazine hosted their Rocks the Summer event in honor of their July music issue at NYC’s PH-D at the Dream Hotel Downtown. And what kind of music celebration would it be without some steller music, which was flown in straight from Nashville (literally and figuratively). Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio of the ABC hit series, Nashville, flew in from Nashville to perform 3 songs in front of the live audience; including their first duet together on the show, If I Didn’t Know Better. Lucy Danziger, editor-in-chief of Self Magazine, made a joke about all of us wanting to be Clare and wanting to date Sam, which judging by all the sighs in the room was pretty spot on. Whether or not you’ve seen the show, it was next to impossible to watch the performance and not consider yourself a fan. They are so talented (and handsome, and they have accents, she’s Australian, he’s British — just saying).
Other highlights include getting my hands on the new summer collection from Essie nail polish, which was one of the event sponsors. All the signature cocktails being served we’re inspired by different shades from the collection. And also seeing Snooki (there’s something I thought I’d never say), who is now the size of my pinky (no seriously, she’s like a size 0). It was impossible not to stare…
Last night NYC was happening! Skincare brand, Kiehl’s Since 1851 kicked off Gay Pride weekend at their flagship store in the East Village. Hosted by Kiehl’s President, Chris Salgardo and Ben Cohen, with music by KISSETTE, the brand made a special donation to the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation. Special guests included Ally Sheedy, Leigh Lezark of The Misshapes, Ana Matronic of the Scissor Sisters. As well as the dynamic duo Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra of Costella Tagliapietra.
Then off to the Meatpacking District to the CATCH Rooftop for Fendi Perfumes & Modern Luxury’s Manhattan Magazine for a live DJ set by Mark Ronson to celebrate the new Fan di FENDI Pour Homme Acqua Fragrance.
The evening concluded with a surprise live performance of Bang Bang Bang accompanied by Amanda Warner of MNDR! The crowd went while as the duo instantly amped up (the already very energetic) crowd into a total dance and cheer-fest. The only thing that could have possibly made the moment better was Q-Tip and the rangers.
The video is too good not to share…
We then crossed the street to Toy, for their re-location party. The restaurant-bar hotspot celebrated it’s final night in the Meatpacking with a sensual burlesque performance — all eyes were on this feathered goddess. As to where Toy will be re-locating to, it’s under wraps… for now!
Meanwhile at the Jade Hotel our friends at StyleCaster celebrated their 5th birthday with performances by The Misshapes and Mick! Congratulations StyleCaster, we love you!
Rectangular bottle, green writing, yellow moisturizer… it can only be one thing: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion by Clinque. We all know it, most of us have used it — it’s the essential last step in the Clinique’s 3-Step Skincare System. Now it’s common to have a skincare routine but growing up this was my first introduction to a ‘cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize’ regimen. My story, coupled with the millions of people globally who share a similar experience is what makes this brand and this lotion so iconic.
On Tuesday night, Clinique invited me to Dramatically Different Party. Hosted at 620 Loft and Garden in Rockefeller Center, the party celebrated the launch of a NEW Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+.
Here’s a taste of the evening…
So why after so many decades did Clinique reformulate such a staple product?
