Clinique Celebrates Dramatically Different Lotion+

Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion+

Rectangular bottle, green writing, yellow moisturizer… it can only be one thing: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion by Clinque. We all know it, most of us have used it — it’s the essential last step in the Clinique’s 3-Step Skincare System. Now it’s common to have a skincare routine but growing up this was my first introduction to a ‘cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize’ regimen. My story, coupled with the millions of people globally who share a similar experience is what makes this brand and this lotion so iconic.

On Tuesday night, Clinique invited me to Dramatically Different Party. Hosted at 620 Loft and Garden in Rockefeller Center, the party celebrated the launch of a NEW Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+.

Here’s a taste of the evening…

So why after so many decades did Clinique reformulate such a staple product?

“The world has changed. Skin care technology has changed. And so we have changed.” – Janet Pardo, Clinique SVP of Global Product Development. It took 3 dermatologist, 53 researchers, and 100 formula trials to create this new version which now includes a stronger barrier strengthening benefits and improved moisturizing technology (they’ve added in Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, and Urea). Consider all that we loved about DDML — the iconic shade of yellow, that silky texture and quick absorption still is there, just now they’ve added a “+” to the name for its added benefits. And as with all Clinique products they are allergy tested and 100% fragrance free.

It was quite the dapper party! Guests included Anna Wintour, Emily VanCamp, Stacy Keibler, Archie Panjabi, Katharine McPhee, Petra Nemcova, Rachel Roy, Nate Berkus and Selita Ebanks — all looking so summery and chic, which mimicked the crowd. Clinique’s Global Brand President, Lynne Greene, gave a speech toasting both the new product and heritage of the brand; which launched across the street from the event, at Saks Fifth Avenue in 1968.

Guests also had the opportunity to have their photograph taken by fashion photographer Sophie Elgort, daughter of Arthuer Elgort, or portrait painted by renown fashion illustrator and water-colour artist Izak Zenou, while sipping on signature cocktails and enjoying the beats of DJ Duo Marjorie Gubelmann and Hannah Bronfman. Couldn’t pass up a photo opp by Sohie Elgort, so Lifestyle Mirror’s Beauty Editor, Phillip Picardi and I jumped in what could pass for a family photo. As someone on twitter commented, look at those brows!
