Urban Decay x Gwen Blush Palette, Brow Kit and More!
The blush rumors are true! The latest installment of the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani collaboration is almost here and includes a Blush Palette ($45), Brow Box ($30) and series of 8 lipsticks ($18) and 6 lip pencils ($20). As most of you know Urban Decay launched an UD Gwen Stefani ($58) 15 shade eyeshadow palette last year.
The blush palette is amazing and is going to make you want to throw out every other one you have and just use this one. Six amazing shades, true to color in a gorgeous gold on white compact.
The Brow Box is in shade Bathwater Blonde and is for blondes so I didn’t get to try it but it has a highlight plus two shades on the top of the compact and two mini brow brushes and an eyebrow tweezer in the second row. Urban Decay does have darker shade Brow Boxes in their existing collection.
Sparkle into the New Year!
Happy almost New Years everyone! Starting a new year always excited me. Whether or not I keep my resolutions it’s so great taking the time to make them and think about what I want for the new year. New Years eve, it’s my favorite time to break out the sparkles and sequins and shimmer my way into the new year.
Photoed above are some of my top picks and what I’m using tonight to get ready for the parties I’m going to tonight. Admittedly for the Christian Louboutin lipstick, I want to wear it as a necklace more so then wear the nude shade I purchased. It’s also a perfect time to use my new Kate Spade Cedar Street Dot Card Holder. It’s a clutch friendly wallet alternative (it holds 3 cards and has a pocket for money). It’s originally $48 but on sale right now for $38 plus 25% off (which brings it to $28.50), major score!
Body glitter is not my thing but I do believe in glowing from within and nothing makes that happen for me more then a killer fragrance that makes me feel like a million bucks. I’m currently having a love affair with Kilian’s Love & Tears, Surrender fragrance. It’s a blend of Jasmine with orange blossom undertones and is so incredibly sexy! I recently met Kilian himself earlier this month at Bergdorfs where I was introduced to fragrance and have been carrying around my travel sample ever since.
Celebrating the Pantone Colors of the Year: Serenity and Rose Quartz
It’s a boy, it’s a girl, nope it’s Pantone’s color of year! Or rather color”s” of the year. The 2016 Pantone colors have been revealed and it’s Pantone 15-3919 Serenity and PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz. And what better way to celebrate then to break out the balloons and do a photoshoot.
If you don’t think that the color of the year has an impact, let me tell you! As soon as Pantone announces, I get non-stop emails from brands pointing out which shades match the colors the closest. The brand tells us the selection of the two colors was meant to be a “harmonious pairing of inviting shades that embody a mindset of tranquility and inner peace”. (We like the sound of that!). There’s also a lot of talk about gender equality and how the colors do not stand for one sex or the other but are meant to convey a sense of compatibility, comfort, calmness, balance and wellness. It’s a little funny talking about a gender blur which is very relevant to the times and then picking a classic baby blue and pink shade as the colors but I like the intention and meaning none the less. Also I think we can all stand for some more tranquility and inner (and outer) peace in the new year.
With a playful escapism as the theme the pairing of shades can be expressed through prints, plaids, color blocking, and of course makeup! Pantone has set a number of collaborations including with Sephora, Pink, KitchenAid. They also have an exclusive print with American Flat and of course the signature Pantone Color of the Year Mug, which is now a staple in my kitchen.
Pictured above, some stylish options from PINK. The Pantone 1026 Color of the Year is offered in shirts and accessories throughout the brand’s collection both as seasonal and core pieces. Highlights include the Gibson classic fit shirt in superior, the Elephant Family Print tie, BX Middlton Check Boxers and Odd Spot sock featured above. Also featured is the PANTON Universe mug I mentioned before. It’s dual sided to represent both shades as well the Pantone Color of the Year 2016 Fragrance, Harmony. Created by Firmenich, Harmony is an airy and delicate fragrance with notes of Centifolia Rose, crystalline Musks and a velvety Incense.
Current Avon Attractions…
I recently stopped by the Avon office for a holiday preview and finally got around to playing with their new launches and I have favorites! For starters their Makeup Design Palette is so impressive! It’s 21 eyeshadows, 6 lip glosses, 3 blushes and 1 bronzer for $21.99! The cheek products are nicely tinted (nothing crazy though) the lip glosses are decent and the eyeshadows steal the show. They are easy to apply and have great pigment. It’s a wonderful assortment of neutral and festive colors as well for the holiday. Perfect for travel, it was my go-to palette while I was in Miami.
Fifteen Minute Holiday Hairstyles
Holiday parties are in full swing and the endless primping and preparing can be tiresome. Don’t let the champs get to your head quite yet because with a few tips from RPZL Senior Stylist Azzy Parsiani, your holiday hair is quick and easy even with extensions. Leaving you more time to focus on gluing on your falsies (good luck with that).
Look One: Wrapped Fishtail Braid
1. Blow dry hair – NEVER leave your extensions wet! For RPZL salon-like results, use the CHI Touch 2 Touch Screen Hair Dryer, which has 3D Ion technology to reduce frizz and CHI ceramic technology to provide moist heat, keeping at a consistent temperature.
2. Straighten hair using the amika Movos Wireless (yes, really) Styler. With extensions, your natural hair might be a different texture and the Movos Styler is infrared heat technology preserves moisture and delivers smooth, shiny, and frizz-free results.
3. Pull two front pieces (of your real hair if you have extensions) towards the back of your head, twisting loosely. Make sure pulled back pieces fall loosely right above and on top of your ear resting on the top of your ear.
4. Merge to twist in the back middle of your hair clipping an RPZL glitter extension beneath the merging.(Note: RPZL glitter extensions sold in store but for clip-in color pop extensions shop HERE)
5. Fishtail braid the two merged front pieces including the glitter extension.
6. Clip an additonal color or glitter pop extension of the same color as the first where the braid starts in the middle of the back of your head, leaving it free-flowing below the braid.
BONUS: For a messy fishtail lightly pull the left and right sides of the fishtail braid for a messy lived-in look.
Look Two: Messy Side Pony
1. Curl hair. IMPORTANT: Do not spray with hairspray before running hands through hair to fill out curls. Instead follow loosening the curls with hairspray.
2. Pull one full side of curls rolling loosely towards the back, again resting the hair lightly above the top of your ear. Don’t worry about extra pieces falling in the back if you’re going for a messy look (Pictured Above).
3. Use a rubberband to hold the side ponytail
4. Cover hair tie with two finger width piece of hair wrapping it around and pinning under the pony.

This palette features 20 iconic shades from their collection ranging in finishes from buttery-smooth mattes and shimmering metallics to shades laced with micro-glitter. It’s a party in a palette!
