Sparkle into the New Year!

Happy almost New Years everyone! Starting a new year always excited me. Whether or not I keep my resolutions it’s so great taking the time to make them and think about what I want for the new year. New Years eve, it’s my favorite time to break out the sparkles and sequins and shimmer my way into the new year.

Photoed above are some of my top picks and what I’m using tonight to get ready for the parties I’m going to tonight. Admittedly for the Christian Louboutin lipstick, I want to wear it as a necklace more so then wear the nude shade I purchased. It’s also a perfect time to use my new Kate Spade Cedar Street Dot Card Holder. It’s a clutch friendly wallet alternative (it holds 3 cards and has a pocket for money). It’s originally $48 but on sale right now for $38 plus 25% off (which brings it to $28.50), major score!

Body glitter is not my thing but I do believe in glowing from within and nothing makes that happen for me more then a killer fragrance that makes me feel like a million bucks. I’m currently having a love affair with Kilian’s Love & Tears, Surrender fragrance. It’s a blend of Jasmine with orange blossom undertones and is so incredibly sexy! I recently met Kilian himself earlier this month at Bergdorfs where I was introduced to fragrance and have been carrying around my travel sample ever since.

For makeup my favorite illuminating and brightening products at the moment are the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette and the W3LL PEOPLE Brightener Stick. Just looking at the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette is enough to make any beauty lover drool. It’s limited edition and has everything you need to contour, brighten and bronze yourself through the new year. It’s great for travel and has the perfect mix of blush, bronzer, and strobing powders to add dimension to your beauty look.

The W3LL PEOPLE Bio Brightener Stick is also a purse favorite of mine. It’s an amazing illuminzing stick that’s great to use as a highlighter and for strobing. It’s rich creamy formula that’s very hydrating and goes on smooth and weightless. It’s great to mix with powders and really packs a brightening punch.

Before you ask, I am actually wearing those sequins Dolce & Gabbana leggings you semi-see in the first photo. Go big glitter or go home in my book, and I’m just not feeling a dress this season. I’ve recently upgraded my Chi to one of their new Ultra CHI 1″ flat iron styles. I love how they come out with different patterns every season and the new Ultra CHI Glitter Sweet 1″ Iron is so girly and fun! It’s exclusive to Ulta and the pink/purple sparkle makes me so happy.chi-sparkle-flat-iron

Of my 6 million eyeshadow palettes, it’s the Japonesque Pixelated Color Eye Shadow Palette that I will be turning to tonight.  Ten high-resolution, micronized color pigments which includes four Pro Basic shades (a black, brown and two neutrals), and six Pixelated Colors which are light catching, high shine shades that range from silver to bronze, green and purple. It’s the Pixelated Color shades that I will be using tonight. They deliver that high impact, intense sparkly eye that shimmers beautifully in the light without being thick or heavy. I’ve mentioned this in my previous review that the shades do chip since the shadows protrude up out of the packaging (this is why most brands have their pans even with the shadows), but alas I still love it enough that it’s my #1 holiday pick.

Lastly the nail choice award goes to the highly coveted Essie nail polish color Starry Starry Night, which is being brought back as part of the Retro Revival Collection (the collection where Essie is bringing back 6 popular shades that had previously been discontinued). The shades re-launch in January and to celebrate this navy sparkle being revived I’m wearing it tonight. It also matches my sequin leggings perfectly.

Happy almost new years everyone!
