Today was awesome, I took over the Newport Marriott’s Instagram channel to share my travel diaries. Newport is honestly one of my favorite places and is just so magical. Visiting the mansions, doing the cliff walk and dining and walking around downtown should be on everyone’s list. So much natural light and it’s so open and calming. The above photo is the view looking down from the fourth floor. The nautical theme is seen throughout — I like to think I dressed the part to match for my Instagram takeover. The view from our room was of the bay, sail boats in front and the downtown to our left. What more can you ask? A swimming pool and top notch fitness center? Yeah, they’ve got that too.newport-boats-marriott-view

As you can imagine the Presidential Suite was epic, TV’s in both rooms, and 1.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room table and lounge area. I would happily trade my NYC apt for it.

My goodness does it feel great to be back in Newport!! Not much has changed since last year, it’s still perfect. Today we hit up the beach and it’s not an exaggeration when I say at any given time I have three sunblocks on me. One for my face, another for the body and then Neutrogena CoolDry Sport SPF 50 because it’s great for quick application and isn’t messy. Lately my body SPF of choice has been Moroccanoil Sun Lotion SPF 30 it feels so luxe (it’s more of a wet liquid consistency) and smells amazing. And La Prairie Cellular Swiss UV Protection SPF 50 for my face, since when in Newport, be fancy. It smells like their signature moisturizer and doubles as a primer that works to repair past sun damage while preventing any future damage. Beach Hat, sunnies, a book, water and headphones make up the rest of my beach bag staples (all listed above).

James, Charlie went up with Luna Bars yesterday! And I took a surf class at SkudinSurf and hung out with the founder, Will Skudin who is ranked top 5 surfers in the world! Curl Hair While You Sleep with The Sleep Styler

the-sleep-styler-review-curlerI have a new product obsession!  As many of you may have seen on @prettyconnected’s snapchat or Instagram stories, I’ve been testing out The Sleep Styler this past week and I am obsessed!!!!!!! Now that I’ve introduced bleach into my strands I’ve been trying to minimize heating tools as to not add to the damage. The Sleep Styler is a re-invented old-school hair roller, that comes in a set of 8 plush cylinders, which require no heat and dry your hair to curl perfection overnight. They just launched kickstarter at thesleepstyler.com/kickstarter and the response has been so amazing! They had a goal of $10k and are already at $40k!!! It’s well deserved and the process could not be easier!

Step 1: Shower and wait for hair to be damp (as in about 80% dry)

Step 2: Section hair into 8 parts (or you can order 2 packs if you want more sections) and wrap damp hair around the cushioned rod and fasten with the velcro strap. I found this video helpful to roll correctly.sleep-styler-review

Step 3: Sleep (your curlers should be intact in the AM). Tip: I sleep on this memory foam silk pillow. The curlers are comfortable to sleep on as is but with a memory foam it was cloud like. And everyone should sleep on a silk pillowcase regardless everyday since it’s better for your hair since cotton can be abrasive — especially if you toss and turn a lot. the-sleep-styler-review

Step 4: Remove the curlers to release big, perfect, lush curls!

From there you can break up the curls, add hair spray or leave them as is. Day 1 hair is super glam, day 2 might have been even better. I used no product and had so much volume and a beautiful tousled wave.the-sleep-styler-shark-tank

Pictured below, Orchid Soleil joins the family in the same iconic glass bottle, only in Rose Gold. The scent is a unique mix of the Black Orchid accord surrounded in tuberose as well as Spider Lily Accord, Vanilla, Chestnut, Cream Accord and Patchouli. It doesn’t do for me when the original does but I’m trying to get used to it. It’s a signature scent with a lot of personality that I’m still discovering.

Jose Cuervo x 6 Shore Road

Jose Cuervo and 6 Shore Road have partnered to create a limited edition bathing suit inspired by margaritas. And go figure it’s probably the only one piece that fits me since I was in middle school. I’m in love. I’ve been a huge fan of 6 Shore Road by Pooja for some time. They are known for their vibrant kaleidoscope prints and this limited edition suit takes it to the next level. I love the bright pink color scheme and the side cutouts. I wore it all over the Hamptons last weekend from the pool, to the town and backyard bbq’s under my white Ella Mose shorts. Taking the #LessStuffMoreMe NuFACE Challenge

This is my first weekend at home, in my bed in months! Isn’t that crazy? And my entire apartment is a mess. Living in NYC and being a full-time beauty and fashion blogger comes with a lot of perks. As most of you see from my daily unboxings on snapchat (@prettyconnected if you want to follow me) I get flooded with surprise packages everyday and while it’s beyond flattering and exciting… averaging in an intake of 200+ products a month in an NYC apartment is stressful. So much so James is considering moving out because he can’t handle the clutter.living-room-clean

Let me give you an idea of my living room with a before and after. Or rather I’m putting the after up so you can get a sense of how zen my life feels when I’m organized. And the after below so you can feel how stressed it is walking into a cluttered apartment and know you have 15 more boxes to open and try to find homes for. I shoot a lot in my living room but I find it so unacceptable that I let the clutter take over the this extent.

Normally I have the situation moderately handled but when I’m traveling non-stop everything gets out of control and my apartment looks like a picked through Sephora sample sale. One of my favorite looks from this weekend was this Ella Moss Talada top and skirt (it’s not a dress!) which I got so many compliments on. Part of the fun of being in the Hamptons is getting to dress all fun and in vacation attire. The movement of this two piece exudes my excitement to be out east, shoes off and surrounded in green! I also brought out some new accessories starting with these Soleurs Alice Polarized Sunglasses. I discovered the brand a few weeks ago during this years Blogger Bash and actually won the pair (I never win anything!). I’ve been wearing cheap sunglasses mostly from Perverse whose styles are so fun but the quality is very limited past how fabulously fashionable they look. Switching to a polarized, lightweight pair of sunglasses made everything so crisp. I want them all!
