If you’re looking for top beauty, hair and skincare brands at a fraction of their retail price (we’re even talking brands that rarely discount…) then visit QVC. Recently, I stopped by their beauty event to sample some of the new products debuting on their site and network including finds from Stila, Laura, Geller, Josie Maran, Tarte and Philosophy (to name a few) and meet the experts behind the brand.
My first stop was to the Stila booth where I got to experience the new Countless Color Pigments Eye Shadow (#5 below) that offers long lasting full coverage and an endless shade possibilities. I have been using the Groupie shade and just love mixing different shades for different occasions. And since it’s color pigment don’t feel limited by using this product solely on your eyes. Depending on the shade, it can be a cheek highlighter, used as a blush on lips. It can even be used on your hair to chalk some very temporary color on a strand or the tips of your locks. The shadow + enhancing brush are available in four shades on QVC for $34.
Next stop was over to the Josie Maran (#2 above) counter where we chatted about the star ingredient of her line, Argan Oil (commonly referred to as “liquid gold.”). This oil comes from the Argan tree in the semi-deserts of Morocco, it has been used by Moroccan women for centuries for it cosmetic benefits. Argan Oil is an incredibly rich source of vitamin E and essentially fatty acids. It has conditioning and anti-aging properties that help keep skin and hair nourished and revitalized! The oil is infused into all Josie Maran products including tanning lotions, hand creams, lip stick and more!
At the Julep Freedom station I was introduced to their new nail polish that is activated by natural light and dries in 5 minutes! I’m not sure until this moment how I ever lived without their Polymer Top Coat, it’s a new staple in my beauty cabinet. It gives an extra shine to my nails and I really can not get over how quickly it dries (I’m terribly impatient when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry).
A classic brand favorite at QVC (14 years and counting!), Philosophy – a brand that promises to bring its customers products that inspire them to live a better life by being better to themselves. And what comes to mind when we think Philosophy? Their Grace fragrance collection; Amazing Grace, Baby Grace, Pure Grace, Living Grace… all available on QVC.
By far the coolest thing I saw and tried at the show was the Sarah Potempa Beach Waver Curling Iron! This curling iron is genius – invented by Sarah Potempa herself. I got my hair curled right there on the spot! The curling iron rotates in both directions with the touch of a button!!! No more twisting your arm to get identical flowing curls on each side of your head.
By this time the event was wrapping up and I did not have time to check out any other booths however some other products I have been testing and LOVE are the (#4 in picture above) mascaras by Tarte and also the one by Bare Minerals – Lash Domination. It is a close tie between the mascaras and I can not decide which I like best. Both offer very dramatic length and go on easy with little clumping. Tarte does get some points for the gold leather like packaging since it is easy to find in my make up bag. I have been using the Nuface – Collagen Booster with Copper Complex morning and night after I wash my face. Lastly I love the It Cosmetics – Anti-Aging Full Coverage SPF 50+ CC+ Cream. It’s highly pigmented cream smooths out everything , doesn’t crease in fine lines and also gives me a nice healthy looking glow. This is exclusive to QVC through September 1, 2013.
