J Mendel’s spring/summer 2016 beauty look was all about creating a glowing delicate fresh face, hair and nail. Sponsored by beauty.com, Makeup Artist Romy Soleimani used Arcona skincare and Kevyn Aucoin makeup to create a natural radiant glow.
Romy began by prepping the skin with a myriad of skin care products beginning with Arcona Triad Pads to hydrate the skin, Arcona Booster Defense Serum, and then Arcona’s Desert Mist to seal and protect the skin. She then used Arcona’s brand new Wine Oil that protects the skin even further. For the makeup Romy then applied Kevyn Aucoin Eyelid Liquid Contour Wand (coming Summer 2016) on the eyelid but not for its intended purpose but to create a satiny finish. She also used Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin enhancer as a base to even out the skin tone and highlighted the cheek bones with Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Skin Liquid Lightening. For natural lip she closed with the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Lip Balm

For the nails, Nonie Crème used her Colour Prevails nail polish collection explaining that the goal for the nail look was to create a buff nail without actually buffing the nail. Mannequin Hands CC Crème Basecoat was applied to the nail then two coats of Wallflower sealed the nail and was topped off with Lacquer Locker Top Coat. Layering each coat created a smooth shiny satin finish that mimics a buffed nail
The hair on J Mendel’s models echoed the simple natural beauty of the face and nails. James Pecis for Beauty.com led the show using Phyto products to create the hairstyles. Starting with Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray and Phyto Professional Matte Texturizing Pastes the hair was parted on the right and pulled back softly from the face, giving the models a boyish look. The back of the hair was braided into a thick basket weave finished with Phyto Phyotlaque Soie Light Hold Hairspray creating a delicate feminine vibe.
