Recently, SEPHORA celebrated their 15th birthday and what an empire they have built over the past decade (and half). While the retailer is no stranger to collaborations, they have expanded their private label offerings to include everything from designers, fairy tales and a global color authority, in addition to their signature collection available at store. (Psst: August 9th they are launching the Marc Jacobs makeup line.)
This month one of our favorite Disney princesses is sharing her world under the sea with the bold, refreshing Disney Reigning Beauties Ariel Collection by SEPHORA. With such a broad range of color inspiration, from Ariel’s perfectly quaffed red hair to the shimmering tones of the sea, it is obvious that the pros at SEPHORA must have had a field day designing this collection.
If bright palettes are on your mind this summer, look no further then the Storylook Eyeshadow Palette Ariel Edition ($55). Bright and lustrous, this 20 shade palette has just about every shade to make your eye pop this summer. For something more compact and on the go, try the Part of Your World Eyeshadow Quad Palette ($30); which blends a shimmery white, green, and purple shades with a matte brownish beige base. The colors blend and work well together and alone. And can easily be carried from summer to fall.
The collection also boasts a fragrance named Kiss the Girl ($19 – $58). Initially we were expecting a heavy beach inspired scent, but were pleasantly surprised with the light watery fragrance that reminded us of a summer rain. Long lasting and signature, it’s just right for the hot days this summer has given us so far.
If you’re on the market for a new compact, the new Set the Mood Compact Mirror ($20) is about as solid as they come. The 3D compact looks almost like a compass Ariel may have found on the treasure chest and has the image from the scene of her and the prince on the boat (you know the part where he almost kisses the girl!). The quote, “you’ve got to be you” is inscribed on the mirror. While I don’t recall that being one of her quotes from the movie, it is inspired by her essence and nice to open your compact to.
Sephora also launched a glittery 6-Piece Nail Collection ($24.50) and 4-Piece Lips Gloss set ($38) with Disney which I haven’t tried yet.
