NARS certainly knows how to hit the sweet spot! The brand is no stranger to racy, sexual names, Orgasm, Super Orgasm — there was even the time where their makeup kits included condoms (anyone remember that?). Now there’s a newcomer on the block called Climax mascara that’s quickly building it’s reputation as a new NARS classic.

In gorgeous red packaging (thank you for making it so easy to locate in my makeup case), the Climax formula is designed to be clump-free and smudge-resistant. It doesn’t flake and does a fantastic job at separating and lengthening. I love a big brush and the wand features unique ribbed bristles that deliver buildable volume and coat lashes, without

NARS Limited Edition Orgasm Launches May 20th

Take a sneak peek at NARS Cosmetic’s best-selling shade, Orgasm in new form. Launching on May 20th to Sephora.com, NARS is launching the Orgasm Illuminating Loose Powder ($28), Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm ($28), and Limited Edition oversized Orgasm Blush ($39). This blush has been a staple in my makeup bag for over a decade. The universally-flattering pink shade lives up to it’s iconic status and I’m happy to see the range extended.

NARS x Erdem

OMG coming home from Mexico to this beautiful box featuring the new Erdem for NARS Strange Flower collection! I get a lot of mailers, but it’s rare one actually makes me stop, marvel and then literally drool. It’s almost too pretty to touch. Almost. 


The limited edition NARS x Erdem collection features two Eyeshadow Palettes ($49 each), the Lip Powder Palette ($49), 2  blushes ($30 each), 6 lipsticks ($28 each), 1 Multi-use Highlighting pencil ($29) and Mattifying Blotting Paper pack ($30). All are packaged in sophisticated soft-touch packaging adorned with one of three original floral prints Erdem created for the collaboration.

The shade range is insane! Usually with collections I find a few colors I like and the rest giveaway, but mine, all mine! Every piece in this collection, is perfection. I started with the Night Garden Eyeshadow Palette.

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation {Review}

NARS just launched their new Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and it’s epic. I’m going to go as far as saying it’s the best full coverage foundation I’ve every used. It covers everything, is creamy without being heavy or cakey. It lasts forever and makes me look ten years younger.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear FoundationAvailable in 33 shades, it’s medium to full coverage, great for all skin types and literally perfect. It doesn’t oxidize, fade, finish with powder and you’re good to go all day. Makeup sits beautifully on top of it and makes me feel flawless. The formula is enhanced with a mix of fruit extracts — Raspberry, Apple and Watermelon — to smooth and improve skin for optimal radiance. I’ve had a really hard time finding my perfect shade in the past, for this launch NARS used a unique combination of a translucent base with micronized aminio-acid coated pigment sand mineral tone balancing powders to mimic skin’s tone for a close match to skin.

Side bar, I’m also in love with their Soft Matte Concealer, it’s matte and is amazing for touch ups. A little goes a long way and you just lightly dab a small about to anything that needs covering, including dark circles. Use them together and you’re set!

NARS Drops Man Ray Collection For Holiday (and we’re OBSESSED!)

If you watch my unboxings on Instagram Stories, you know I get a million packages a day. While I like to think everything excites me, usually it’s a lot of the same. Leave it to NARS to always make me gasp! The Man Ray for NARS Holiday 2017 Collection is EVERYTHING! Killer packaging, incredible pigments, innovative colors, and so much creative expression. And the sets are all $55 or under, so there are some mega values pushing through.

So let’s start at the top, who is MAN RAY? He’s a visual artist known for some pretty spectacular black and white images, which reflect throughout this incredible collection. First, the sets…

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment featuring Bella Hadid and Justin Gossman

Bella Hadid and Justin Gossman lead the NARS 2017 campaignOMG I’m getting some serious feels for NARS‘ latest campaign featuring Bella Hadid and Justin Gossman. Her makeup, his jewelry and overall vibes are goals — I literally want bangs and I am totally feeling her Joan Jett vibe. And totally into Justin Gossman channeling his inner Jim Morrison. Shot by NARS Founder & Creative Director, François Nars, the campaign was inspired by 1970’s rock and roll. The duo are the campaign models for NARS Cosmetics’ Fall 2017 collection and the imagery was all over the launch party for NARS new POWERMATTE Lip Pigments. These lippies don’t launch until July so here’s a sneak peek!

These are NARS’ first true liquid matte, and features full coverage, high-impact lipcolor in a range of 20 shades. I love the wand, it’s not too fluffy or cushiony so I feel like I have control over it since you want precision when it comes to this formula. It’s long lasting and flexible to apply and then dries but is still comfortable to wear.

NARS Velvet Lip Glide Review and Swatches

nars-velvet-lip-gloss-swatches-reviewNARS latest lippie, Velvet Lip Glide is the perfect marriage between a liquid lip and gloss in one. It goes on smooth with great pigment and high shine. The color range features 13 phenomenal shades which ranges from pretty nudes, bright pinks and reds to a range of wines to plums with a brown thrown in.

I assume the “velvet” is more directed to the sheen, since the finish is smooth and not textured like you would see from a matte. It’s great on it’s own and mixes beautifully with lipsticks and other lip products to adjust the shade should you want to or extend the wear. On it’s own it does have some staying power but like most gloss finishes diminishes as you drink, eat… My suggestion though if you want longer stay power is to put a matching lip liner or longwear lipstick under it and then apply on top. It will help keep it put and last longer then a glass of wine (or several). Plus whatever is underneath doesn’t mess with it’s brilliant finish on top, which makes lips look smooth and hydrated.

It’s been over a decade since I left my first corporate job, working in International at NARS Cosmetics. It was an impressionable era for me and one where I had the pleasure of watching and getting to know one of the most impeccable makeup artists of our time, Uzo. Ten years later (although let me be clear she was just as major back then) Uzo will be at the W Hotel on September 14th from 3-5pm as part of the W Hotel What She Said event series.

Uzo will provide the What She Said audience with an insider’s look in the beauty industry and her advice on success that every woman can relate to.

It’s been an exciting few months of events, launches and rebrands! I’ve been on the road so much it’s been hard to keep up but here’s some of the highlights!

FRANCOIS NARS Book– The founder and Creative Director of NARS has launched his photo-autobiography. A three year passion project that captures the most defining moments and images from his career as a makeup artist, photographer and creative director. The book is a stunning collection of visuals filled with our favorite NARS campaigns and iconic models who have worked with the brand. The book is $85 and available at lordandtaylor.com

Sephora Collection Rebrand – I love Sephora and I’ve being using their liquid lipsticks forever! The brand hosted a re-launch party last night and announced an exclusive Instagram handle for their namesake brand, @SephoraCollection. After launching 18 years ago — can you believe it’s been that long?!?! You’ll see new packaging, products and fun website features all broken down on their site, HERE!

It Cosmetics has gone mini! It makes me so excited they have launched a travel size of all their top sellers. Don’t get me wrong, I never want to be without their Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ but the monster size has been a makeup bag challenge. And with how much I travel I’m so pumped they have launched a travel size collection! Also in other big It Cosmetics news (which you probably heard), L’Oreal bought them!

DevaCurl Rebrand – My favorite (yup, I used the word favorite) curly hair brands has new packaging, and website update that now includes a blog and youtube channel. We’re a family of loyalist to their No-Poo Original and Gel for as long as I can remember — my sister, the curly hair queen, more so then me. She has been exclusively using their products for over a decade and anytime I try to get her to test out other curly hair products for me she’s utterly uninterested. DevaCurl also debuted a new product, the Wave Maker Touchable Texture Whip, which is designed to add texture and volume and frizz free waves when applied to damp/wet hair. I just got it and will try it soon and report back.

Fresh Turns 25! Can you believe it? At the beautiful 25th Anniversary party for the beloved skincare brand they the launch of a new range, Vitamin Nectar — starting with the Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask. It smells like citrus and exfoliates and brightens to wake it up skin.

The Red Door by Elizabeth Arden update – They have a new name, from Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa they are now The Red Door by Elizabeth Arden and have a new logo which you’ll see as part of the rebrand. They have also partnered with omni-channel to offer guests the best in beauty and wellness, in and outside of the salon and spa locations. Oribe launched makeup! The award winning hair brand recently launched a makeup collection consisting of two illuminating face palettes, three nail lacquers, and three cream lipsticks, Lip Lust. Okay it’s been about a month so it may be old news to some of you but I finally got my hands on the Lip Lust, The Violet shade (which is more of a wine shade then violet) and could not be more excited!!! Also stay tuned for more — rumor has it a skincare, body products and hair tools are on the next!

Smith and Cult – From a nails brand to adding in lippies, now for fall Smith & Cult is expanding to an eye range which includes the Book of Eyes Eye Quad eyeshadow palettes in 4 shades, B-Line Eye Pen in 3 shades — Still Riot (charcoal), Rush to Whisper (Steel) and The Shh (Deep Sable), and Lash Dance Mascara.
