Le Meurice (Paris)
Here’s a fun fact (if you like dogs): During hotel renovations from 1905-1907, Le Meurice workers took in a stray greyhound that had been living on-site. Hotel personnel then adopted the dog, and it soon became the mascot and inspiration for the Meurice’s.

Located on one of Paris’ most fashionable streets, the Mandarin Oriental Paris boasts an array of pet amenities sure to please the most fickle feline (moi) or pampered pooch.

A chilled glass of champagne for the humans and a chilled bowl of water at check-in
A welcome letter from the Mandarin Oriental Paris mascot Archie Lewoof, a border terrier whose pet parent Philippe Leboeuf is the hotel’s GM
Linen Mat, name tag, feeding dishes

Gansevoort (NYC)
Not that they are bragging or anything, but the Gansevoort was voted the nation’s “Pet Friendliest Destination” by the readers of Animal Fair magazine. That’s what they tell me at least….

Premium treats from the Barking Zoo, pet bed, mat with a monogram, small fiji water, food and water bowls, toys, and a collar tag that reads: “I am staying at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC.”

The Muse – Kimpton (NYC)
Looking to spot the hottest camera-ready pets? The Muse is an impressively pet-friendly hotel, having hosted everything from snakes and penguins to a pig, all in town for castings and on-screen debuts. Ginger, a teacup Pomeranian, serves as the “Director of Pet Relations.”

Pet goldfish: Don’t have a mangy dog or fancy feline (or want to torture you cat)?
The hotel is happy to provide a goldfish at your request at no extra cost, which you can take home with you. Note: Nowhere does it say there is an extra charge if the goldfish meets an untimely death. Whoops?
Not that I care, but there is a dog park complete with fire hydrant water stations, bespoke benches, and garden design by Rebecca Cole.

(Dogs) Furry Friends Menu –Each meal includes one protein selection (hard-boiled eggs, salmon, chopped chicken or burger patty) and two sides (rice, peas, oatmeal, cottage cheese, chopped pineapple or sliced apple), with an option to add an extra dog biscuit for dessert. Guests are also welcome to bring their dogs along to a meal in the outdoor dining areas at Jimmy’s Pub or Oak Grill.
