Get the Look: Miami Fashion Week Swim with COVERGIRL

The great part about following Miami Fashion Week for Swim is even though we’re talking about collections launching in 2014, the beauty looks are both achievable and relevant now. No surprise the big trend from Mara Hoffman to VIX Paula Hermanny to all over the runway was bronzed, luminous, pretty skin with eyes that are anything from dramatic and smokey to just a simple black pencil with light shimmer opposite big lashes and a nude lip. Then for the cheeks we’re seeing either a more white highlighted shimmer or a warmer tone blush to make cheek bones pop.

COVERGIRL recently launched a whole slew of new products including their Flamed Out collection which includes a high volume Flamed Out Mascara, that offers full impact, high volume lashes (there’s also a water-resistant version available),  Shadow Pencils, which are great alone as a liner or can be blended to highlight, brighten, add a pop of color as a shadow, and the Shadow Pots which easily blend and are offered in a full range of 12 different powder shades that glitter and sparkly for a pretty highlighted effect.

Working with COVERGIRL and the GLAM Network to recreate one of the popular trends, I opted for a very wearable day look really bringing out the sun kissed, glowing skin which I think never goes out of style opposite a highlighted cheek bone and softer lip.

COVERGIRL

For luminous skin, I used the new COVERGIRL line of Whipped Creme foundation and COVERGIRL+Olay Eye Rehab 2 in 1 Brightening Concealer + Olay Hydrating Serum together. One goes under the eye, the other all over your face and delivers that very pretty, dewy skin that just looks bright and radient. From there grab a bronzer brush and apply COVERGIRL Cheekers bronzer (I like Golden Tan 104 for that natural looking beach tan look). You can build the coverage but it has a light shimmer that blends perfectly on top of the Whipped Cream foundation to give that healthy skin glow. From there I used the new COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in #305 Crystal Flame which is a highlighting white and stroked it gently along my cheek bone for some extra highlight and work in with my fingers. Sure it’s meant for your eyes but it works great as a face highlighter as well!

Then for the eyes you can use either COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner pencil for a more dramatic eye (or if you’re doing a smokey eye look) or the new INK IT! By Perfect Point Plus pencil (which I used) to get a perfectly precise thin line on the tops or bottoms of your eye lid. I then re-used the #305 Crystal Flame Shadow pencil for under my brow to highlight my eyes (Note: #350 The Blazing White Flamed Out Shadow Pot can also be used in it’s place) and went in with the Flamed Out Shadow Pot in #335 Charcoal for a more pigmented sparkly finish around my eye pencil area.

For a true nude lip apply a small amount of the Whipped Creme Foundation to lips to mute out the tone and apply COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick #830 in tease for a soft sheen (and to keep lips hydrated). If you prefer a more natural pink as part of the look (as photographed above) add COVERGIRL LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Blush Twist for some extra sheer coverage.
