Together for almost 20 years and collaborators in business for 10, Gregorio Ruggeri & Craig Longhurst moved to New York 5 years ago. Perfecting the fine art of aesthetics has always been something that has, and still is, a constant mantra for them both. And it sure shows in the design and attention to detail in every corner of Salon Ruggeri.

UNO de 50 Goes for the Gold
Maybe it’s because I’m traveling through Europe but I’m having a real moment for Spanish brands and their craftsmanship. Last week I spotlighted Pikolonis shoes and today I’m all about Uno de 50. If you’ve ever seen the handcrafted jewels from Uno de 50, you know they have some seriously special pieces. Spanning rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, watches, and accessories, (they have a men’s section to!) everything is designed and made in Spain. The costume jewelry and accessories brand has a true artistry feel with strong craftsmanship. They are one of the few brands that can do chunky for me without it feeling heavy. They also have several great layering and statement pieces and I love the way they style their campaigns. Their pieces can take an outfit from day to night and everything is very wearable everyday and from the beach to a rock concert that you can really style them creatively.
Their renegade spirit and flair for coloring outside the line is evident in their latest campaign video (seen above). I always seem to gravitate towards buying necklaces and rings although with Uno de 50 they have women earrings with a unique style that I’m especially attracted to.
Michael Hill and the Art of Stacking Rings
Confessions of a jewelry addict: I love stacking rings! As you’ve probably noticed I like to bring a strong ring game to the table (it’s kind of my thing). I recently discovered Michael Hill, or rather got to know the brand better and acquired some jewelry pieces. They offers the perfect assortment of high end, special occasion jewelry pieces (they have engagement rings people!) to more affordable sterling silver pieces including a variety of stacking rings from $25-$45 (with diamond and gold bands starting at $200). Literally something for everyone and perfect for someone like me that likes to mix their high end with more moderately priced jewelry and get creative.
LAGOS Launches First National Campaign: MY LAGOS MY Way
Congratulations to my friends at LAGOS for launching their first National Campaign this week, MY LAGOS MY WAY (above). Featuring their Signature Caviar collection (which I happen to be a big fan off — love the stacked bracelets!), the campaign was shot by fashion photographer, Sharif Hamza.
Top Costume Jewelry Designer – Lele Sadoughi Launches Eponymous Collection
If you don’t know Lisa Sadoughi by name yet I’m sure you have see her influence. Lisa (Lele) Sadoughi has earned industry-wide credibility as a top costume jewelry designer. In 2006, Lele conceptualized and ran J.Crew’s jewelry division as their Design Director under Jenna Lyons. The line launched with great success (amazingly beautiful vintage inspired pieces) and followed strong to became J.Crew’s most successful category by the time she left. Sadoughi then moved to become the Jewelry Design Director at Tory Burch, and in 2012 she decided it was time to start her own eponymous collection!
Launching in Spring 2013 she was inspired by egyptian revival and symbolism, art deco, and the 1920’s. The collection includes bold statements of falcons and tassels on necklaces, bracelets, earrings and even some home decor. Simpler pieces include the slider bracelets that come with crystals or genuine stones hand set in frames secured with
Stella & Dot Fall Collection
Earlier this week, I peaked the new fall collection for Stella & Dot and it’s totally glam! SO many fun statement pieces and a perfect mix of delicate everyday necklaces and big, bold, compliment-worthy items.
First off, here are my favorites: layering necklaces (especially the thin arrow “On The Mark” one, which previously was only available in gold and now comes in silver), the large woven “Tempest Necklace” that combines a steel chain, brass cupchain, distressed black acrylic stones and silk ribbon! The complementary bracelets in similar form (although I wouldn’t wear the two together — it’s a little too matchy matchy unless you’re wearing a very simple, preferably strapless dress). And the the rock-glam “Lillith Fringe” dangly earrings are high on my list!
