UNO de 50 Goes for the Gold

unode50 gold collection

Maybe it’s because I’m traveling through Europe but I’m having a real moment for Spanish brands and their craftsmanship. Last week I spotlighted Pikolonis shoes and today I’m all about Uno de 50. If you’ve ever seen the handcrafted jewels from Uno de 50, you know they have some seriously special pieces. Spanning rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, watches, and accessories, (they have a men’s section to!) everything is designed and made in Spain. The costume jewelry and accessories brand has a true artistry feel with strong craftsmanship. They are one of the few brands that can do chunky for me without it feeling heavy. They also have several great layering and statement pieces and I love the way they style their campaigns. Their pieces can take an outfit from day to night and everything is very wearable everyday and from the beach to a rock concert that you can really style them creatively.

Their renegade spirit and flair for coloring outside the line is evident in their latest campaign video (seen above). I always seem to gravitate towards buying necklaces and rings although with Uno de 50 they have women earrings with a unique style that I’m especially attracted to. While several have jewel pieces that add great color, I’m more into their solid silver-plated and now gold-plated pieces. Here are a few styles I’m eyeing:

As some of you know the brand introduced it’s GOLD collection earlier this year, now for fall they are rolling out a new assortment of 18kt gold plated pieces; many of which have elements of smoky grey Swarovski crystals. Their rebellious spirit especially comes out in the pieces with Swarovski’s that are in the shapes of a skull. All of these pieces are part of the fall/winter collection and include silver-plated pieces as well. In addition to the Swarovski Skulls, there are several pearl elements as well leather incorporated this season. I’m really in love with the more delicate silver-plated pearl necklaces. Here are some of my favorites from the collection:

Having launched in the late 1990s by a group of jewelry designers, the Spanish jewelry brand originally created only 50 pieces of each design, hence the name “Uno de 50”. What’s super cool is well is each piece used to be numbered! Now with their increased popularity they do larger runs but still maintain their unique character. Today Uno de 50 is available in 42 countries and major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Barcelona. They have more then 100 stores around the world including their soho store in New York, which is my location!
