Viktor & Rolf Magic Fragrance Collection
Last night was a dream. I met two of my all time favorite designers, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren aka Viktor&Rolf to celebrate their latest fragrance collection, Magic!
As Beauty Magicians, Viktor & Rolf believe everyone needs a little magic in their lives and to help spread the magic they created a collection of six magic potions – fragrance illusions with a magical twist. The whole event was stunning, hosted at Academy Mansion, an actual Mansion in NYC with magician Dan White levitating people and showing us the impossible, the whole night was magic. In the magical world the impossible is possible. The six scents are:
Dirty Trick – Classified as an Oriental Leathery scent, it’s a unique mix of Iris and Ink Accord, and was possibly my favorite of the collection!
Liquid Diamonds – The most floral of the collection it’s inspired by peonies, which like diamonds has many facets. Blending Peony accord with pink pepper, Bulgarian rose, patchouli and musks it kind of has a floral powdery effect that makes me think this is what laundry smells like in heaven.
Sage Spell – Casting a spell with sage and Absinthe the fragrance sparkles with notes of pink grapefruit essences, pink pepper and peppermint essences.
Clive Christian Launches Noble VII Perfume
I’ve had a really blessed week. Minus the terrible NYC weather and my allergies trying to keep me down, I met so many beauty heroes, including Clive Christian earlier this week! For me, Clive Christian has always been this mythical person. Super mysterious, probably because he’s British and has what seems like this heritage fragrance brand that would date back to a royals in the 17th century. But alas he’s only been doing fragrance since 1999, starting with fragrance No. 1 which quickly earned him the crown for creating “the worlds most expensive perfume”. No mater in date, his fragrances carry that elegance and regal feel (the caps are even crowns). And it should be noted he was very established (or maybe famous is a more appropriate word) in the world of interiors when he introduced fragrance as an extension of his brand. I took none of that lightly as I walked into the ever elegant Baccarat Hotel, to meet him and hear about his latest fragrance pair, Noble VII Cosmos Flower and Rose Rock.
So just a few notes on brand for anyone looking to get more acquainted, Noble VII is in fact the 7th fragrance pair. And he launches every new fragrance as a pair (so technically its the 13th and 14th scent in the collection). Back in the day you could say the pairings were a feminine and masculine scent but now all the lines are blurred with so consider it unisex with one leaning more in one direction.
The Original Collection featured the first three scent pairs, followed by the Private Collection, which featured the next 3 pairings, and now in a new category we have the seventh scent pairing, Noble VII available in Cosmos Flower and Rock Rose.
Inspired by his magnificent residence, specifically the exquisite garden, which to give you some idea of how vast and stunning this property is it was Queen Anne’s residence in 1730! And of course it’s in the English countryside which just adds to the romance (click HERE to see an image and learn more about the residence).
Coach Launches new fragrance with Chloe Grace Moretz
COACH will be launching its new women’s fragrance this September with actress Chloe Grace Moretz as the face. Moretz has been a face of the brand for the past two years and embodies the Coach spirit – an all-American girl who is youthful, modern, authentic, and celebrates her natural beauty.
The launch party was hosted this afternoon at the beautiful Michelson Studio location in NYC. Hosted by Chloe Moretz and COACH’s Executive Director, Stuart Vevers the room was filled with flowers and editors had a chance to take a first look and sniff of the scent.
Spring Fragrance Round up: What’s New from Creed, Lanvin, Molton Brown and More!
Choosing a signature scent is a very personal experience. With new fragrances launching daily, it’s hard to sift through and yet there is something about the weather changing that gets me all excited for those more flirty floral scents. Brands like Ulta and Sephora will organize by top rated (Sephora also features what’s new) which are great resources. For me I need to experience a fragrance in person so I have been non-stop attending fragrance previews and have an entirely new updated scent range for the season. Here’s what were excited about:
Raw Spirit Desert Blush: All of the fragrances featured above are new with the exception of Desert Blush from Raw Spirit (the rollerball shown above). I recently discovered the brand and have become instantly enamored. This is the fragrance I
Inside the NEW Anna Sui NYC Flagship Shop and Romantica Fragrance Launch
After 23 years, Anna Sui moved her New York City flagship boutique from its residence at 113 Greene Street to 484 Broome St. Sui opened shop in the ’90s long before Soho was the shopping mecca it’s become today and thanks to early adopters like herself made the area one of NYC’s best attractions. After two decades in the original location the lease was up and it was time for a change (for the better).
According to Sui, “all the cooler shops are moving south”. The new location matches that cool-girl vibe while aligning with the designer’s unique sensibility and aesthetic: lavender walls with black and white vintage wallpaper, red-stained floor, Tiffany lamps, rock posters, Victorian flea-market furniture festooned with carved roses, painted glossy black and upholstered in purple velvet.
Henri Bendel Launches New Fragrance Suite 712
Launching in May, Henri Bendel will debut their first fragrance since the retailer announced last spring that they would no longer carry 3rd party brands (including beauty) and exclusively sell their own brand of fashion accessories.
