Viktor & Rolf Magic Fragrance Collection

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren or Viktor&Rolf
Celebrating with Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren the Viktor&Rolf Magic collection

Last night was a dream. I met two of my all time favorite designers, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren aka Viktor&Rolf to celebrate their latest fragrance collection, Magic!

As Beauty Magicians, Viktor & Rolf believe everyone needs a little magic in their lives and to help spread the magic they created a collection of six magic potions – fragrance illusions with a magical twist. The whole event was stunning, hosted at Academy Mansion, an actual Mansion in NYC with magician Dan White levitating people and showing us the impossible, the whole night was magic. In the magical world the impossible is possible. The six scents are:viktorrolf-magic-fragrance-dirty-trick-liquid-diamonds-sage-spell-sparkling-secret-dancing-roses-lavender-illusion

Dirty Trick – Classified as an Oriental Leathery scent, it’s a unique mix of Iris and Ink Accord, and was possibly my favorite of the collection!

Liquid Diamonds –  The most floral of the collection it’s inspired by peonies, which like diamonds has many facets. Blending Peony accord with pink pepper, Bulgarian rose, patchouli and musks it kind of has a floral powdery effect that makes me think this is what laundry smells like in heaven.

Sage Spell – Casting a spell with sage and Absinthe the fragrance sparkles with notes of pink grapefruit essences, pink pepper and peppermint essences.

Sparkling Secret – this citrus woody scent combines vibrant woods with orange blossom and ginger, sweet lime and grapefruit, enveloped in a creamy cloud of vanilla bourbon.

Dancing Roses – This floriental fruity scent was a crowd favorite blending cherry liquor and roses. It reminded me of my Russian friends growing up who introduced me to Cherry Verenya which is basically a Cherry Syrup used in tea. It smelled like that to me.

Lavender Illusion – lavender and citrus caviar accord with some woody and musk mixed in.

Each fragrance was on display alongside their key notes to bring the scents to life. Packaged in irregular glass bottles to give a vintage feel to these reimagined apothecary bottles, the potions are laced with tiny, thin bubbles you can see through the transparent glass. The bottle is presented in a luxurious drawer case adorned with the iconic Viktor+Rolf black seal and a grosgrain ribbon buckle on the side. The fragrance is accompanied by a card featuring an ornately drawn illustration of that respective fragrance created by avant-garde Parisian designer Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak of M/M Paris.

I need to double check this but I was told the fragrance collection will be available starting in February at Saks Fifth Avenue.
