Christian Louboutin Launches Lipstick Collection

christian louboutin red lipstick

Pucker up ladies because it’s almost time to bathe your lips in Christian Louboutin. Adding to the famed designer’s beauty profile which currently includes a line of nail polishes are lipsticks intended to make a statement. According to the iconic designer, “An object that embellishes the lips—the beacon of sensuality and organ of communication—has to be fairly amazing. The object should inspire a beautiful gesture.” And it does! These lipsticks are magic. After much hype (and press) over their existence earlier this month, I had the pleasure of joining the brand in their showroom for the unveiling.

Christian Louboutin Opens First Beauty Boutique in Paris

Christian Louboutin BoutiqueWell beauty lovers, Christian Louboutin has giving us another reason to visit Paris!

“Heels offer a gesture to the leg, and nail colour adds a gesture to the hand,” says Christian Louboutin.

The bottles that encapsulates Christian Louboutin’s saturated nail colours are almost as signature as the red soles that made his shoes a household name. Faceted glass, crowned with a glossy black spear cap, this bottle is the main focus of his first beauty boutique which was just unveiled in the 19th century Passage Vero-Dodat.

Photo Credit: Taylor JewellWho’s says “squares are bores?” Certainly, no one starring at the nails at Cushine et Ochs fall/winter show. The look, which was created by Madeline Poole, for Christian Louboutin Beauté was inspired by the colors used throughout the line and to complement the collection with geometrical precision nail art. “I had an intuition we would be using a small square motif,” said Poole. “Michelle and Carly had the clever idea to paint the square appliqués in nail colours that matched the collection.”

PC at The Blonds Fall 2012 Show + Video of the Show

As I posted yesterday, everything from backstage, to the audience to the actual The Blonds Fall 2012 show was electrifying! What a scene, there could have been a fashion show just out of the outfits in the audience.

Unpredictable as ever and just as over-the-top show as we like to expect from a The Blonds Show it unforgettable with the Tron-like motorcycles draped across the stage, Phillip Blond taking the runway, blond ponytails coming out of laser cut motorcycle helmet’s, crystal corsets, models that actually seemed to be having fun, Sebastian Suave… I mean really, does it get any better then that?

Shoes by Christian Louboutin and jewelry by one of my favorite avant garde brands, nOir!

CoupTessa Fools Day

ConTessa April Fools Day joke

Happy April friends! Yesterday, I woke to an email from a friend with the subject line “Jimmy Choos”? And inside was a link to daily deal site, CoupTessa for $5 for the designer shoes from Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik & more (Value $1200, Save $1195). A deal too good to be true? Yes, it was a big whopping April Fools joke, and I for once didn’t fall for it—I emailed my friend back saying it was a prank. Although a part of me was going to feel really stupid if I was wrong. What gave it away for me was the ‘unlimited coupons per customer’ part. I think had they said 1/per customer it would have been more realistic and hilarious since everyone would be calling all their friends, family and going nuts to get even more pairs.

That evening I received a press release about the occurrence and I was right! Apparently their phones were ringing off the hook all morning and everyone had a good laugh out of it, especially the subscribers themselves. Definitely my kind of prank –funny but not harmful or embarrassing. I have to give it to CoupTessa, that was a good one and considering how much the deal circulated and a really brilliant marketing campaign.
