G-Shock Shocks the World at 30th Anniversary Bash

I recently peaked into the world Casio G-Shock as the brand celebrated it’s 30th anniversary kick-off event at the Manhattan Center.  Casio has a lot to celebrate in the upcoming months, with innovative and impressive watches being launched throughout the year – several in collaboration with professional athletes and artists (any Eminem fans out there?).

The Future of Fashion: Tech Edition

I wouldn’t consider myself “techie” per se, but after attending last week’s Future of Fashion event, (which is part of the Emerging Startup Series held at Projective Space), there are several tech/app start-up companies that are now on my radar.

Several founders presented their creations to a crowd and high profile panelists, who included Steven Alan, fashion designer (@Steven_Alan), Philippe von Borries, Co-Founder of Refinery29 (@refinery29), and Keegan Vance Forte, Chief of Staff at AOL Ventures (@keeganforte). If you’re into fashion and keep up with current trends, here are some apps you should check out:

Cloth – If you’re that girl who posts outfit pics, then take note. The app allows you to snap a pic and keep track of what you wore and how you wore it, while connecting you to social media sites so you can get feedback from friends and fans. The best part is the creators recently started collaborating with wunderground.com so you can get real time weather data – these two sites working together means real time advice as to what outfits you should and should not wear for the current conditions! Follow @clothapp and visit clothapp.com for more information.

Bazaart – Pinterest meets scrapbooking with this creative and fun app. The idea behind it is a user-generated fashion catalogue. Users can shop while making art. This allows for each person to make personal shopping
