Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones

In early June right before Bose released their new headphones, I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek at the new headphones and test them out. Bose is undoubtably the headphone masters but what they were able to do in these latest launches is take everything to the next level by elevating the sound and making them wireless. For headphones it was with the launch of the noise canceling QC35 Wireless Headphones ($349.95) and for all my fell runners and fitness friends, the new Soundsport Wireless Headphones ($149.95). From the moment I demoed the Soundsport at the event, I was counting down the days to the launch.

Finding earbuds for when you run in this heat is so hard! These are sweatproof, weatherproof — rain, sweat or shine you’re covered. They clip to the back of my sport bra so at any point I can drop them down around my neck without worrying about them falling off.  The earbud portion comes with three different silicone inserts so you can match your perfect inner ear size which locks into the bud which creates an umbrella shape that suctions in your ear which the extended wing locks up for a comfortable fit that doesn’t move.

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since Wednesday! I know it’s only been a few days but since I got back from Boston all I’ve wanted to do is get my apartment in order and stay local. Every week for over two months I’ve been in a different state, and while it’s all been with amazing brands, it’s taken a toll.

On the up side, while I haven’t had as much time to write I have been playing with some new accessories I’m excited about starting with these Sudio Sweden Vasa Earphones. They only recently started selling in the US so I’m honored to be one of the first to get my hands on a set. I’m going through a perpetual rose gold phase (although they come in other colors too!) and love the simplistic and yet elegant design of them. They also have great sound quality, and come with a chic travel case, which I need, since I’m the queen of tangling everything (you don’t want to look into my jewelry box. They also have a wireless version I have my eye on for when I go running! I’ve been using them non-stop for travel since they are less bulky then my headphones and offer a really crisp, studio quality sound. Plus now that I carry Charlie (my rescue pup) around everywhere with me I’m trying to pack as light as possible. They are offering my readers and exclusive discount of 15% off with code: PrettyConnected.

Taking Product Scanning to the Next Level with 3D Capture and Sprout by HP

sprout by hp review

Sprout by HP

Having spent the past decade on a laptop, I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have a desktop back in my home. The Sprout by HP really does feel like a machine from the future, it has a touchscreen, projector and touch input mat which allows for a lot of different possibilities. So far it’s beyond any type of computer I’ve ever owned, in addition to your usual desktop capabilities, the Sprout is a fully functional creative workspace with a dual touch interface that lets you scan documents and products and morphs them onto your screen with the click of a button. You also have a toolbar that allows for full editing capabilities to move images, add text, clip art and do drawings. It’s completely interactive and such a great product to use for the type of collaging work that bloggers do everyday.

The touchpad lets you take 3D snapshots to scan multiple products all at once and the software splits up the images with transparency (as seen on the left of the computer screen above) or scan them individually. You can then move the images around for perfect placement and save them into your library for future use. You can also drag previous images scanned to create your collage and then add any additional copy or drawings using the toolbar functionality.

HP 3D Capture review

3D Capture by HP

The latest addition to the Sprout is the 3D Capture, which is an affordable at home 3D scanner. While the Sprout 3D Snapshot is great for quick and easy 3D scans, the 3D Capture allows for a full 360 degree image scan of your object and is great for 3D printing. Unlike the 3D Snapshot, for the 3D Capture you can only do one image at a time and it needs to fit on the Capture’s circular pad. Objects cannot be larger then 8x8x8 inches or weigh more then 4 pounds. The circular Capture pad has to calibrate the image and the process takes a few minutes in between scans. Models made from objects that are matte, solid, non-transparent, and not too thin, especially organic objects like sea shells, stones, wood… are more successful than models made from shiny, furry, flat, or transparent.

Top Model Josephine Skriver Stars in New G-SHOCK Campaign

Josephine Skriver g-shock

As some of you may remember, last year Casio G-Shock launched the S Series, a collection for women. Prior to that G-Shock was for men unisex, and Baby-G was the solo women’s line.  This season, Casio has taken the young and rugged nature of the G-SHOCK brand and sassed up the S Series by partnering with Victoria Secret angel Josephine Skriver to debut the newest summer launches. Utilizing their 30 plus years of expertise in structural durability and technical functionality, the G-Shock S Series was designed to create a fashion accessory piece for the modern day woman who embraces life and its challenges.

Father’s Day: Portable Audio Top Picks

Most guys love audio, some more than others. Personally, I can never get enough hardware, whether in the studio or going around the city. These are my three favorite portable devices, each of them serves a discrete situation very well. With Father’s Day a few days away here are our top picks:

audio guide top picks
Sennheiser Momentum: I’ve had these in my round up for well over a year. They look great, sound great and are comfortable even with glasses on, unlike temple-crushing Beats. Not only that, but there is great care taken in the design of the details, such as the remote and swivel jack. I’ve put some serious miles on these and only love them more with time.
Sol Republic Deck Wireless Speaker: When I watch movies off of my laptop, these connect quickly using bluetooth. They are small enough to take with me on my travels, tucking easily within my laptop bag. The sound for the size is admirable for the speaker size and the battery life is amazing – it really holds a charge.
Soundcast Melody:  On the larger size of portable, but thats what you need sometimes. With its size comes a much richer and balanced sound than you would normally get from a ‘carry around’ kind of bluetooth speaker. I’ve used this for everything from laptop movies, stoop parties and even in my classic 1977 Landcruiser which doesn’t have a sound system to speak of – unless you like AM/FM. It actually amazes me that I can hear it over the engine and wind noise. There are so many uses for this: poolside, on the boat, in the park or at the beach.

Breakfast with Colbert MD Skincare

8 Labtop Bags that are NOT Labtop Bags

Lab Top Bags Option 2 - Top Shop

Since I am constantly running around the city from appointment to meeting to preview (to who knows what?), in between sessions I can generally be found nestled in a coffee shop glued to my laptop. And considering my laptop is almost always by my side, having a bag that’s functional and fashionable is important.
