Stuart Weitzman Pellets Shoes

To everyone that knows me, it comes as no surprise that I have a bit of a shoe addiction (they can be found along my closet, behind my door, under the bed, and any off-season shoes in my storage closet).  So lately I’ve been trying to be more responsible with my purchasing habits — if for no other reason then space restraints and to avoid being so wasteful.  So my new rule is no overlap – I do not need another pair of black pumps or brown flats no matter how cute or ‘practical’ they are.

When I first came across Stuart Weitzman’s Pellets shoes (the picture does not do them justice) I didn’t even realize they were made of rubber until I tried them on. And to be clear, I am not a jellies kinda gal, I do however lead an event heavy lifestyle, which when it comes to

Spring Must Have: Cammie Hill Clutches

Last week a friend of mine introduced me to the bags of Cammie Hill and I instantly fell for her clutches.  Spring/Summer is when I shed my big bags and go straight for something smaller, more feminine and fun, and these clutches definitely fit the bill. Now, despite how attracted I am to a bag, I do have a few general rules when picking one out to ensure it won’t be just another pretty thing that collects dust on my mantle.  The smaller the bag, the better but it has to be shaped appropriately to fit my iPhone, ID case, and few makeup bag essentials. Measuring 10.5” x 6”, the clutches are tested and approved!  The other thing I look for is a strap.  This isn’t a deal breaker but more for my convenience since I lose everything.  All Cammie Hill clutches come with a beaded bracelet wristband, which not only adds personality to an already great bag, but also makes for the perfect accessory. The added perk is the wristband is completely removable.

There are two fabrications to chose from, reclaimed leather ($210) or organic cork ($145) , both in a variety of colors.

PROM: Class of 2010 Brought to You by Joonbug and FashionIndie

Joonbug.com and FashionIndie.com took the NYC party scene by storm when throwing a benefit for The Society of Independent Fashion Journalists at Espace this month.  Naming the event PROM: Class of 2010, I had no idea what was in store, but like any good New Yorker, I don’t need much of an excuse to put on a party dress and get ready to expect the unexpected.

What an evening! The space was definitely prom worthy, as we’re the guests who took the dress attire very seriously –I even overheard the girl in the ladies room say she is wearing her dress from senior year. Impressive considering mine should be burned (I still can not believe I ever wore a sea-foam green Jessica McClintok princess dress –by choice). Great 80s and 90s classics had the dance floor packed; there was even a performance by the St. John Cheerleaders!  They really delivered all the perks of prom, with the added bonus of being old enough to enjoy an open bar.  The only thing missing was

Blake Lively at the 2010 MET Gala

When it comes to Blake Lively, I must admit I have total girl-envy. I attribute a lot of it to the first time I saw her at an intimate party she through for Penn Badgly after the premiere of ‘The Stepfather’.  She’s was so lovely, stylish and naturally stunning –I stared, it was impossible not to, she’s so effortlessly flawless.

Last night at the MET Gala, Lively looked gorgeous in her blue mini Marchesa dress and makeup look by Elaine Offers for NARS Cosmetics.

DVF Ups the Ante on FREE SHIPPING!

In my post from this morning (where I drooled all over the new DVF iPhone cover), I expressed some confusion over the promo code ‘DVFSHIPFREE’ that Diane von Furstenburg posted about on their Facebook page as well as some difficulties I was experiencing while trying to order it off their website.

Go figure, I check my email and within an hour of the post going live the lovely people at Diane von Furstenberg sent me an email! They clarified the promo code ‘DVFSHIPFREE’ (to sum it up you could buy as many $400+ dresses you’d like but if there wasn’t an item in your shopping cart for under $100 –like the $20 iPhone cover, you don’t qualify for free shipping). But lets forget about that nonsense considering they shared an even better promo code with me!  Use APRILSHIP at checkout during the month of April and receive free ground shipping on

DVF’s iPhone Cover

I’m obsessed!!! How hot is the new Diane von Furstenberg iPhone Cover?  She designed it in honor of the new iPhone application DVF launched earlier this week.

I saw on Facebook they are running a free shipping promo. ‘Use DVFSHIPFREE for free ground shipping on any order with an item under $100’.  Is it me or is that awkwardly worded?  The iPone cover is $20, which is under $100 so I think that means I’m getting free shipping?  And on that note, ONLY $20!!!! I’m so impressed (and surprised) they didn’t price it higher.

I need it and am ordering it now! Or at least trying to, the website seems to be having a meltdown at the moment when it comes to ordering them.  Maybe they weren’t expecting the entire female population to be ordering it all at once.

It also fits iPod Touches, for more information visit dvf.com

The Wellness Cafe at Norma Kamali

I received an invitation from Norma Kamali to visit her new Wellness Café.  Located at the Norma Kamali flagship store on 56th Street, I was no stranger to the café considering I used to work around the corner.  Tucked in the back of her store, it was an olive oil haven.  Filled with all types of pastries and snacks (all olive oil based); I was a sucker for the lavender shortbread.

I had heard during New York Fashion Week Norma made some adjustments to her life and was adding more raw and vegan elements into her diet. The café is an extension of Kamaili had thus evolved with her.  I was excited to see the changes to the café, and even though I knew the olive oil base would always prevail, I had a feeling this would be the demise of my beloved shortbread.

As some of you know I’ve been on an oil kick for sometime now, olive oil, macadamia nut oil, argon oil, coconut oil, essential oils . . . you get the point.  What began as something I only used on my body has now fully been integrated onto my face and hair as part of my regiment.  I’ve also been on a recent health kick (or at least trying to be), the downfall of months of traveling and abiding by the ‘there’s no calories on vacation’ rule.  And to that all I can say is it’s all fun and games until bathing suit season.  So perfect timing for this invitation, I would be in good company, and I can use all the inspiration I can get!

So through the entrance, past the mannequins to the back of the store I go.  Aesthetically it’s still very much the original café, however

The Next Generation of Material Girl

Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes (in conjunction with Iconix Brand Group Inc.), are set to launch a teen clothing line appropriately named –you guessed it, ‘Material Girl’ (MG).  Exclusive to Macy’s the line will consist of a back-to-school clothing collection, as well as handbags, jewelry and footwear, with plans of a fragrance launch in 2011.

Who would have thought in 1985 when Madonna released the song ‘Material Girl’, that she would one day dress the teenagers of the future?  But are diamond
