Necessary Clothing Opens it’s 6th Retail Store in Downtown Manhattan
I am not sure when it started but if feels like all of a sudden Necessary Clothing stores are everywhere in downtown Manhattan. Whenever I walk by one, the window displays always tempt with their “on trend fashion,” and obnoxiously hard to resist low prices that have me marked that if I go in, I’ll likely end up with bags filled with clothes I don’t necessarily need but they serve me a season or two are well worth the impulse. (I call it Forever 21 syndrome).
Since launching in 2011, Necessary Clothing has skyrocketed in popularity (just ask their 22k fan-base Facebook). Last week, they celebrated the opening of their 6th retail location in NYC. Hosted by Betches Love This, guests partied it up with VitaFrute cocktails, a photo booths and temporary tattoos, while shopping to the beats of DJ Kalkutta. A graffiti artist from Klughaus was also on hand making personalized totes.
The new store, located at 261 + 263 Canal Street is 6500sq.ft with raw exposed brick walls, a back-lit shoe and accessories closet and landmark approved entrée doors. A definite upgrade to some of their jam-packed-with-clothing locations. They are also the first fashion retailer to open on Canal Street, lending to Mayor Bloomberg’s continued efforts to

3 Top Trends for Spring {Sponsored}
Over the past few weeks I’ve been sharing some of the biggest trends for spring and how you can get the look at Target. To recap we’ve talked about how to style polka dots, dip dye (aka ombre) and it colors for spring, corals and aqua. Here’s a review as well as a new introduction into my #1 favorite trend of the season… florals!
1. Florals – I have thought of nothing else since Drew Barrymore was on Katie Couric last week in an amazing floral print pant. This is my absolute favorite trend of the season. It’s happy and fun and adds a beautiful pop of color. The trend doesn’t stop at pants, we’re seeing the print on everything from dresses and skirts to jackets and accessories so my advice is to let the flowers shine. Keep the rest of your outfit simple and either do a black, white, or jeans combination with it or pick a non-dominating color from the print and incorporate a solid version of that shade as the matching top or bottom. For example, if you do a flower jacket (as seen below), you can do a light blue shade to pick up the tone from one of the flowers. If you want to add a stronger pop of color, do so in your accessories, makeup or sunnies to bold out the look.

Backstage at Daniel Vosovic F/W 2013 Presentation
Ombre nails, bold lips, aristocratic next day hair — needless to say I loved everything about being backstage at CFDA designer, Daniel Vosovic’s Fall 2013 Fashion Preview. (If you missed my post on the collection from earlier this month click HERE). Daniel is a true perfectionist, right down to the messy hair. His messy hair was even perfect!
Hosted at the W Hotel in Union Square I was greeted backstage by the beauty team. New makeup line, MAKE created the look in collaboration with Vosovic. Led by Kristin Hilton, MAKE’s team
