NYFW: Caught in a Daydream at Charlotte Ronson SS2015 Show

charlotte Ronson spring presentation 2015

Backstage at Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 2015 collection, the nails stole the show! Lead nail artist Miss Pop for OPI showed us a fun way to do nail art by showing off some of your natural nail by creating a nail look showcasing negative space, with alternating cutout half moon shapes.

To complement the collection’s feminine color palette, Miss Pop used OPI pastel mint shade That’s Hula-rious! (Launching February 2015) on the hands and for the feet she used shade Bubble Bath with the addition of a fun daisy on the big toe. (Both manicure and pedicure looks were prepped with OPI Base Coat and finished with OPI Top Coat.)

Endless Summer with Levi’s {Style Post}

20140822-205108-75068504.jpg

For some of you this may have felt like an endless summer. For me, quite the opposite, I feel like I blinked and we’re already into the next season. But I’m not ready to give up my bright colors and summer mentality and two of the best transitional spring to fall wardrobe items I find are scarves and jeans!

My new beloved Levi’s Mid Rise Skinny Jeans ‘Endless Summer’ style will be a year round staple and here’s how I wear them to keep the summer spirit as we move onto fall. Matched against my Levi’s Denim Tee (don’t let the name deceive you, it’s a light blue, lightweight cotton top), I’ve added my bright red tie-dye scarf and belt for a pop of color, and my black perforated wedges to balance the look. And because I’m all about accessories I finished off the look with some silver arm candy and an ear cuff to add some glitz and glam to the outfit.

What I love about the Levi’s Mid Rise Skinny Jean is it’s so comfortable and moves with the curves of my body so I never have to hike them up –the belt I’m wearing is more for fashion then function.

While these are a newer pair of Levi’s to my wardrobe, I haven’t been without a pair since I was a teenager. Whether vintage or new, Levi’s are timeless and have been a staple in my wardrobe for the better part of two decades. In fact, I can’t think of any brand I’ve been wearing longer.

I remember my mom’s friend Tracie (who I thought was the coolest) would tell me stories on how her family moved to Italy when she was in High School and she would make a fortune buying all of her classmates Levi’s every time she came back to the States. All I wanted in life after hearing that was more Levi’s in my life!

Levi’s is such an iconic, heritage brand, epitomizing classic American style. Having launched in 1873 as Levi Strauss & Co., they were the ‘it’ jean of their time and for generations to come, being one of the most recognizable and imitated clothing brands in the world. And it’s that history that gives us that nostalgia and the endless memories of moments in our lives with Levi’s.

You’ve heard my story, now they want to hear yours! In August Levi’s launched the ‘Live in Levi’s Project’ on their website to showcase stories and authentic moments of those who live in Levi’s.

They’re looking for stories that share why you have an affinity for the brand – and the memories created while wearing them. Anything with the hashtag #LiveInLevis will be considered to be featured on the Levi’s site, so get sharing!

NYFW: Saudner Spring/Summer 2014 Presentation

Saunder Spring/Summer 2015 collectionSaunder‘s spring collection is inspired the song “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” by Iron Butterfly. She worked around the concept of a rock-and-roll Garden of Eden. The collection featured bright florals and ladylike fabrics combined with edgy details and saucy prints. Her rocker Eves dainty dresses were offset by structured moto jackets, sequined booties, and dresses and jewelry featuring a prescription pill motif. Neons colors and borrowed-from-the-boys silhouettes also brought an edge to her spring line. Beehive-inspired hair and bright, pouty makeup wraps the whole presentation up in a 1960s vibe.

The Jean Scene with LYCRA® Brand & Cosmopolitan Magazine

Cosmopolitan Magazine

Fashion week is done! Now comes the fun part of going through my notes and sharing all the behind the scenes commentary from backstage at the shows and parties.

On Wednesday night I got my denim on when Cosmopolitan Magazine invited me to join their Emerging Designer Showcase, which was followed by the Jean Scene After Party, presented by the LYCRA® brand.

Both the Showcase and After Party took place at The Glasshouses in NYC. The Showcase featured a runway show by up-and-coming label, ROOMEUR, designed by Hagit Kassif. Then came the After Party, which included models strutting their stuff in jeans from DL1961 Premium Denim, Joe’s, and Hudson Jeans. What do jeans from these three brands have in common? They all feature LYCRA® fiber technology which is used to give jeans an amazing fit that lasts so they won’t stretch out or sag.

For the event, DL1961 Premium Denim outfitted me in a pair of Florence INSTASCULPT Skinny jeans. They contain all the amazing benefits of LYCRA® fiber, including 4-way stretch so they contour your body. The customized fit with 360° stretch is perfect for my lifestyle – especially during fashion week when I’m running around.

Save the Garment Center event

I actually premiered them earlier in the week when I hosted an event with cast members of Orange is the New Black for Save the Garment Center (which is all about promoting production of garments in New York). And seeing as the jeans were made in the USA, and are so flattering (and comfortable!), they were the perfect choice for the evening.
