While generally my Sunday nights consists of sweats, my laptop and takeout (it’s a joyous ritual), I had a more exciting night planned for the evening. Susan Sarandon and Mary-Louise Parker we’re hosting a benefit for Hope North, a boarding school in Uganda for escaped child soldiers, orphans, and other victims of the country’s civil war. I posted the invite so hopefully some of you made it and bought tickets in advance since the event sold out! That’s quite a feat considering it was hosted at 13,000sq ft table tennis social club, SPiN New York.
And apparently the line (even for ticket holders) was out the door and around the corner—I somewhat anticipated this type of reaction considering besides our lovely celebrity hosts, Rufus Wainwright, Josh Ritter, Jesse Malin, Joseph Arther and Martha Wainwright were all playing. I devised a not-so-solid plan for my date and I to crash the VIP cocktail party to avoid any unnecessary crowd shenanigans –I am the club’s #1 member. My club card should come with some perks… although even then I needed text message verification from one of the owners and contemplated an attempt to sneak in through the back (always a solid fall back plan). But for the record, I did buy my tickets and donate to the raffle.
I had a great time and played a lot of ping pong (Charlie Mars walked by my match and heckled me with a Steffi Graf comment). I appreciated it. And seriously what better way to hit then with great live performances in the background. The last time I saw Rufus Wainwright live was 2005 at Sundance and I LOVE HIM. I was hoping he’d sing Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk, but it wasn’t in the line up.
The Benefit also had an awesome silent auction –I wanted the autographed Soup Nazi picture, but a friend, Roxy won it so I compromised with getting a picture of the picture of the Soup Nazi.
Tucked away in the basement of Lavo, John Frieda hosted a private screening for the premiere of his short film “The Decision” starring Katie Holmes. While guests got settled inside, the red carpet was buzzing with excitement and as fans gathered outside to catch a glimpse of Katie Holmes, and other high-profile guests including several of the NY Housewives, Tinsly Mortimer and Julie Benz.
First off Katie Holmes is stunning. I was at the bottom of the stairs checking my coat as she walked in all tall and lanky with this amazing white blazer and black pants on looking so tasteful and natural. Her hair in was down in loose curls and her skin was glowing. Shortly after she was seated, Elle’s Creative director, Joe Zee gave a short speech and introduction to the film. I was expecting Holmes to say a few words, however other

Last month Daniel Vosoviccelebrated the showing of his Fall 2011 RTW collection and today we celebrate his birthday.
Fun fact: Dan and I went to college together –good ol’ Fashion Institute of Technology. And we were RA’s –people love making fun of me for that tidbit (my favorite ex-boyfriend used to refer to this time as “when I was a hall monitor”). I’d shower this post with old photographs but frankly I think I burned them all. Since our college days, the former Project Runway star, has gone on to write a book (it’s in my fashion library–okay fine, it’s bookcase) and successfully launch many collections and I could not be prouder. I get to follow him behind this year attend his RTW show. What really enhanced the experience is being seated next to another former RA with us –Marissa, the Market Editor for Seventeen reunions. It’s amazing how much changes in just a couple-errr, more-than-a-few years.
Check out the video from his Fall 2011 RTW Show:
Happy Birthday Dan! Cheers to you!

And she did it all by herself –it’s probably her guilty pleasure! Or who knows, maybe there’s more to the story. Stay tuned since right after
On any given night the odds of you seeing me at a club are roughly 364:1. However, it was St. Patrick’s Day and this year I was all in for Patrick McMullan’s infamous annual celebration hosted at Pachca. If I’m going to subject myself to this debaucherous holiday, I may as well do it right, and skip the cover charge and overly packed bar and instead fill it with good friends, complimentary beer and vodka, in a crowd filled with weirdos and freaks (present company included) –it’s a sure way to not have to worry about making a fool of yourself on St. Patrick’s Day. Plus it’s always a pleasure to run into Steve Sands and hear about his latest uproar and he does always take the best pictures of me.
Patrick McMullan was quite the host, greeting guests, camera in hand. I was welcomed with a kiss on the cheek, and for that brief moment despite being in a packed club, the party felt quite intimate. Then sometime after the open bar ended my body needed out of the club district before it turned into a pumpkin so I ended up at 7A, gorging on everything fried I could get my hands on. Keep it classy Eurdolian, it is after all St. Patrick’s Day.
In an effort to provide clean water for millions of children around the world, during World Water Week (March 20-26) restaurants in New York City and across the country will help raise funds for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Tap Project. Participating restaurants will encourage patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free. Their donation will aid UNICEF’s water and sanitation programs in Togo, the Central African Republic and Vietnam. For Every $1 Raised, UNICEF Can Provide One Child Access to Safe, Clean Water for 40 Days.
If you ever have the means (and I recognize how unnecessary this is), and are feeling a little bit ridiculous, a helicopter ride in NYC is an exceptional way to invest 10 minutes of your life. Especially if you happen to be flying to JFK and need a quick route back to the city. This is one sure way to avoid traffic!
Talk about a view…
My dates…
Perfect landing!
Although if you’re going to do it and are paying for the whole aircraft, grab some friends –preferably really handsome ones and have them come all the way to the airport only to ride back, they will not regret it! It will make you feel like a complete baller when you land at the V.I.P. .Heliport trailer in Chelsea.
