{PC Mother’s Day Gift Guide}

1. WIN IT (details above)Phebo Soap Bar Trio ($24) – While this set comes in a several fragrances, I’m partial to the Flores de Primareva. Not only does it make you’re bathroom pretty in pink, it’s refreshing floral change to your conventional clean-scented hand soaps. Phebo is 100% vegetal based, using a wide range of essential oils, botanicals, herbs, spices and fruit oils in all of their products.

2. Tocca Candle (10.6oz/$38) – Cleopatra is a classic Tocca scent (it’s a light/clean aroma that blends cucumber and grapefruit), that I’m a fan of, however you really can’t go wrong with any of their candles (especially since they have recently expanded the line with so many more choices). They burn for roughly 60 hours.

3. Philosophy I think You’re Wonderful Pure Grace set ($32) – I’m not sure what’s better, the packaging or Philosophy’s cult favorite products, Pure Grace. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever met anyone that didn’t like Grace’s beautifully clean scent. The gift set includes Pure Grace Foaming Bath and Shower cream (8 oz.) and Pure Grace Perfumed Body Lotion (8 oz.). No need to wrap… the packaging says it all.

4. Royal & Langnickel 12-piece Silk Pro Set ($120)- Synthetic brushes have come a long way in the past 5years that there’s no reason animal hair needs to be involved to have a high-end, quality brush. There is every brush you could ever want in this set and they are all so soft, durable and animal-friendly. Quality brushes are

Go BvB!! You know you want this shirt... (get it HERE)

While I’ve done several beauty and fashion partnerships, this was the first month where I was recognized in a national campaign by a beauty brand for my volunteer work — and for that I  am really honored to have had all of your support.

Blondes vs. Brunettes, is a flag football game that pits blondes vs. brunettes to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.  Last year alone, the New York chapter raised over $100,000, contributing to already $1,000,000 the organization has raised between nationally towards research.

Alzheimer’s is a cause close to my heart. I had a very difficult month with the passing of my grandmother. And while

March 1-4th: Donate a Suit Jacket to Dressbarn for Dress for Success

For the past week, I’ve been raiding my closet and putting everything I don’t wear into boxes and downsizing like a mad women. The only cure for my ‘maybe-I’ll-wear-this-someday’ pack rat condition is knowing that someone else can appreciate (and actually wear) the item more than me.  Two big boxes and a suitcase later, I’ve decided to donate to them to non-profits that focus on helping disadvantaged women regain economic independence by providing them with business attire and career skills. Two great organizations that do so are Dress for Success (which is international) and Bottomless Closet (which is NYC based).

And amidst all my organizing, one of my blogger friends sent me this info! Women’s apparel retailer, Dressbarn, is hosting a suit drive this weekend in benefit of Dress For Success.

What: S.O.S.-Send One Suit-Weekend.

7.6% of women today remain unemployed, with many of them lacking the most basic necessity: a job interview suit.  You can make a difference by donating to the March. 1-4 national ‘Send One Suit’ event conducted by to Dressbarn.

When: March 1st – 4th, during regular operation store hours.

Where: All of the 825 Dressbarn stores. A complete list of stores can be found at www.dressbarn.com.

As a thank you, Dressbarn will offer donors an additional 15% total purchase savings for their generosity.

I should also note for all you beauty bloggers and brands that read my blog, the other thing I really love about Dress for Success is they accept unopened products — both personal and corporate donations. And for someone like me that gets more gift bags of products that are the wrong skintone or type then I know what to do with, it’s wonderful way to donate them.

Sonja Morgan with blogger Jonanthan Valdez

Last night, Harper’s Bazaar and one of my favorite-if-I-could-afford-it stores, Jeffrey’s hosted an exclusive event to thank supporters of the Jeffrey Fashion Cares program. Hosted Harper’s Bazaar, editor in chief,  Glenda Bailey, and Mr. Jeffrey himself, Jeffrey Kalinsky, and designers Derek Lam, Peter Som and Rachel Roy it was quite an honor to be in the presence of so many wonderful fashion veterans.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares, is an organization that raises funds and awareness for people living with HIV/AIDS and members of the LGBTQ community.  Over the past 18 years, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has raised nearly $11 million for LGBT and LGBT youth charities and non-profit organizations, with 95% of every dollar raised going directly to beneficiaries through the New York and Atlanta events.

For those of you in NYC that would like to get involved, or attend the next Jeffrey Fashion Cares New York benefit, which will be held on March 26th visit jeffreyfashioncares.com

Timberland Keeps it Warm at Sundance

Official Sundance Film Festival 2012 Timberland Jacket

Once upon a time I was a Sundance Film Festival volunteer–as in one of those people that goes to Park City for 2-weeks just to walks you to your seat or give you to directions to the next venue in exchange for an all access pass! That of course was pre-blog, pre-press passes for bloggers and all that jazz I now take for granted. It was in 2005; I was in my early-20s and thought I had died and gone to heaven to be in the presence of  Gwyneth Paltrow, John Malkovich, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Timberlake and just about every celebrity you could ever imagine. Kenneth Cole was the sponsor that year, although the jacket they gave out for the crews, filmakers and celebs were—meh (I don’t think I’ve worn mine since). This year (and for the past 3 seasons), Timberland has been the official  Footwear and Outerwear Sponsor and all I can say is that I’m jealous. The women’s jacket this year is so hot!!

Additionally, they are using their Sundance presence to do a little good and elevate their Fade to Green platform. Fade to Green was designed to serve as a reminder that, like Timberland, film goes beyond commerce to celebrate innovation,
