9 Tips by Rebekah George to help combat Allergy Face

zyrtec, allergy faceI have a watery eye problem. Sometimes it’s in one eye, sometimes it’s both. It can range from barely noticeable to stop-me-on-the-street-because-you-think-I’m-balling-my-eyes-out bad. Don’t be fooled by my teary eyes, I’m not having an emotional breakdown, it’s allergies. And I’m not alone.

According to a recent survey commissioned by the makers of ZYRTEC®, 96% of women with allergy symptoms suffer from ALLERGY FACE™ – the beauty challenges resulting from watery eyes, a red nose, and a puffy face. Clearly it doesn’t stop me from moving and shaking (although it is quite embarrassing). However for the 1,000 female allergy sufferers surveyed we learned that 50% of women with allergies have missed out on something, such as a party or date, because of their allergy-related beauty woes. And nearly three in four (73%) have a “must have” item for dealing with it while on the go. The top make-up solution is concealer (32%), followed by foundation (24%). And Over half (53%) of women with allergy-related beauty challenges have worn an “allergy disguise.” Over-sized sunglasses being top pick (40%). I wasn’t apart of the survey but I can attest to that!

“According to the survey, 81% of women with allergies think they can never fully cover up their ALLERGY FACE™,” said beauty expert Rebekah George. “The reality is that allergy-related beauty challenges don’t have to get in the way of you looking your best. With the right beauty tips and solutions, you can combat ALLERGY FACE™.”

Avon’s mark Names Lucy Hale Beauty Brand Ambassador, Robert Pattinson gets Tapped for Dior Homme Fragrances

It started with Lauren Conrad, then Ashley Greene, and now the baton has been passed to the Pretty Little Liars star, Lucy Hale as the new Beauty Brand Ambassador to Avon’s mark. In addition to appearing in digital and print campaigns for the brand, Hale will also be the spokesperson for the m.powerment campaign, mark’s philanthropic effort dedicated to breaking the cycle of dating abuse and partner violence against young women.

“I’m incredibly proud to partner with a brand that is as passionate about empowering women as I am,” Hale said. “I’ve been a fan of mark’s products for years, but it was important to me to work with a brand that is truly about beauty on the inside and the outside.”

Her debut campaign will be mark’s August Magalog, as the official 10th Birthday issue for the brand.

9 Last Minute Father’s Day Gifts Sure to Please Dad!

Father’s Day is quickly approaching so there’s no time like this Sunday to give Dad some extra attention. Looking for the perfect gift can always be a challenge. Experiences (from a coffee tasting to wine tasting, taking in a baseball game or spending hours at the driving range) go a long way. Get the Look: Amy Adams at the NYC premiere of Man of Steel

As we anxiously await the release of the new Superman movie, Man of Steel (in theatre’s June 14th), I look forward to opening the papers tomorrow to see some of the feedback from tonight’s NYC premiere of the film. One things for certain, Amy Adams (the films leading lady, who plays Lois Lane) dazzled in a black Nina Ricci gown paired with a bold red lip and old-Hollywood Dita Von Teese-esqe hair do created by celebrity stylist Laini Reeves for Moroccanoil.

PC Hosts Calm Down and Cool Down with Skyn Iceland and Henri Bendel!

As summer heats up it’s important to take a moment for a little R&R and pampering and we did just that. And at my favorite store in NYC no less! On Tuesday night I had the pleasure of hosting an event with skincare brand, Skyn Iceland at the private event space at Henri Bendel’s (where you an now purchase Skyn Iceland products). We transformed the room into a relaxing mecca offering manicures by Spa Nail, cold juice pressed drinks from Liquiteria and the most amazing gluten-free cupcakes (arguably the most amazing cupcakes ever) by Kaked, and of course some bubbly to toast summer. Guests enjoyed an eye cooling bar using Skyn Iceland’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, which instantly de-puff eyes in 10 minutes and are everything you need to look refreshed after a night out or not enough sleep. There were also stress tests on hand, which involved putting a strip under your tongue for 30 seconds and it reads your stress level — on a scale of 20 to 91+ I got a 130 which was a bit of an awakening that maybe I need to slow down a bit!

We also showed off the perfect summer products to help you cool off and cool down (the theme of the event) and have healthy, radient skin. There’s so much you can do with matte nail polish it’s is great on it’s own or as a single nail as an accent. Lise Watier – One of the top prestige brands in Canada, Lise Watier has a full line of luxurious products which I’m so excited you may see some of their eye or lip gloss products in this months box. GHD Gold Series Proffestional: The Ultimate flat iron

Meet Sarah! One of the greatest people and artists I know! Sarah tasked me with finding the best flat iron for her extremely thick, coarse color-treated hair. As a GHD enthusiast, I recently got the ghd Gold Series Professional 1″ styler iron from the limited edition metallic collection, which can rival the thickest of hair strands for this challenge. What I like about GHD flat irons is they are lightweight, compact and has a swivel cord so it never tangles or is uncomfortable to use at any angle of straightening. (Although I’d love if they added a gripper to the handle — I always apply too much pre-oil or balm as my heat protectant and straighten with greasy hands). All of their flat irons come with a stylish head resistant styler bag, 2 year warranty and universal voltage. It also has a rounded barrel for those talented enough to use a flat iron to curl their hair.

The ghd Gold Series heats up EXTREMELY fast and beeps once it’s reached it’s optimum temperature of 347-365 degrees fahrenheit. Another feature I like (especially for any of you paranoid-you-left-the-house-with-the-flat-iron-on) is it goes into sleep mode after 30minute if not used. Only downfall is you can’t adjust the head settings, which isn’t much of a problem for the majority
