The evening concluded with a surprise live performance of Bang Bang Bang accompanied by Amanda Warner of MNDR! The crowd went while as the duo instantly amped up (the already very energetic) crowd into a total dance and cheer-fest. Healthy Skin 101: Examining Your Skin From the Inside Out

Screen Shot 2013-06-25 at 9.17.41 PM

When talking about healthy skin it’s important to take a good look in the mirror and evaluate your complexion on a topical level and then examine what’s going on from the inside out. Common areas of concern include discoloration or sun spots, enlarged pores, dark circles, acne, premature aging and wrinkles. Additionally, it’s important to evaluate your overall complexion and hydration of the skin (be on the lookout for any areas of flakiness, excess oil or otherwise), and determine if your skin type is normal, oily, combination or dry.

There’s a whole world of ingredients and products in existence specifically formulated to help deal with these skincare concerns, however that’s just one step of many in the battle of beautiful skin. For skincare conditions, flair ups or

Initial me…

The monogram craze is nothing new, although my deep love and affection for anything with my initials and/or blog name has only seemed to grow with time! Call it vanity — although I prefer to think of it as more personalized or special but everything looks better with my initials on it!Monogram, c.wonder, baublebar, lands' end, pretty please

1. stella & dot Signature Initial Charms ($26 each) – Sterling silver initial charms. Simple and to the point, they are great on their own or mix and matched with other charms.

2. C. Wonder Reversible Pebbled Leather Belt Strap ($48) – C. Wonder has a whole section of their store and website dedicated to monogramming. The versatility of a reversible belt, plus initial combo is genius.

3. BaubleBar Medium Monogram necklace ($110) – This is a staple in my jewelry box and a great layering piece. It’s also available in silver and in a variety of sizes.

4. fleur du mal Say My Name Custom Monogram Panty ($98) – It doesn’t get any sexier then this pair of undies. (No seriously, find me a hotter pair). You can also have your name (or his…) written out, and is available in two shades of pink and your choice of thread color. Bridal shower gift anyone?

5. C. Wonder Wide Enamel Initial Bangle ($58) – as of the next time I go

PC Top Summer Beauty Picks Under $40

Now that it’s officially summer, here are some of my new favorite products to help keep you refreshed and hydrated throughout the season and well into fall.

beauty products

Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator ($40) – Stress has terrible effects on our bodies, including our skin! From blotchiness to premature aging (to irritation, acne, dehydration, skin fatigue and redness), this product is lightweight and packed with efficacious ingredients (like Rosa Gallica Botanical Extract, Mannose, Camomile Extract, Shea Butter, and Glycerin) to help counteract these negative effects. Plus it’s fragrance and oil-free! I’ve been using it for about a month and see a noticeable difference in my skins health and complexion.

BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector ($36) – I’m not big on silicone based primers, especially in the summer. Instead opt for a water-based one like BECCA’s oil-control primer which feels so good on (it’s like giving your skin a drink of water). It smooths out pores and lasts all day. It’s great alone or used before or after your foundation application.

Olay Ultra Moisture With Shea Butter Body Wash ($3.99/12oz, $5.99/23.6oz) – In the last three weeks I’ve changed to this body wash and my skin is noticeably softer and more hydrated. It packs some serious lather but rinses off light, and offers a pleasant scent that isn’t heavy or overpowering. If you’re skin is on the dryer side, it’s a must try; especially in the summer time if you’re hoping to switch to a lighter post-shower moisturizer (or tend to forget/skip that process all together).

Murad Clarifying Wipes ($18) –  Perfect for acne-prone skin, these wet wipes contain an oil-fighting formula that reduces shine, balances and tones skin by removing dirt, oil and bacteria that can clog pores. While it’s great for the face, I pack

Clinique Celebrates Dramatically Different Lotion+

Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion+

Rectangular bottle, green writing, yellow moisturizer… it can only be one thing: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion by Clinque. We all know it, most of us have used it — it’s the essential last step in the Clinique’s 3-Step Skincare System. Now it’s common to have a skincare routine but growing up this was my first introduction to a ‘cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize’ regimen. My story, coupled with the millions of people globally who share a similar experience is what makes this brand and this lotion so iconic.

On Tuesday night, Clinique invited me to Dramatically Different Party. Hosted at 620 Loft and Garden in Rockefeller Center, the party celebrated the launch of a NEW Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+.

Here’s a taste of the evening…

So why after so many decades did Clinique reformulate such a staple product?

Women’s Health Beauty Awards: Who made the cut?

Screen Shot 2013-06-20 at 8.08.00 AM

Last week, I had the pleasure of joining Women’s Health Magazine in celebration of their 2013 Beauty Awards. Breaking their usual format of presenting the products, the publication instead hosted a social media panel highlighting the role social networks play on both the launch and success of beauty products in the marketplace.

Sarah Kugelman’s 8 Tips to help combat stressed skin

Skyn Iceland

Stressed skin is a topic we can’t seem to escape and a trend we’re seeing skincare brands now address. And a woman who’s no stranger to this topic, Sarah Kugelman, a true pioneer in helping women combat their effects and the founder of the skincare line, skyn Iceland (which is formulated to absolve the stress from your skin) has shared her best summer de-stress tips with us!

You may be thinking, what’s stressful about summer? Where to begin… High heat and humidity. Being stuck in the city all weekend with your makeup melting off, sweaty crowds, ouchy sunburn. The intimidation of the ‘bikini’ body… (our list only goes on from there). Earlier this month I hosted an event with Sarah Kugelman and the Skyn Iceland team appropriately themed, Slow Down and Cool Down sharing Skyn’s Tips for a more relaxing summer. Take note!

 1. Skin Superfoods: When you are stressed and overheated your body craves ‘skin vital’ potassium. Seek out foods high in potassium like sweet potatoes, bananas, or raisins.

2. Make Plans With Yourself: Everyone’s out of town. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, head home and plan some “me time.” Light a candle, rent a movie, have a

Nail art is such a huge trend right now, and while “half moon” mani’s have been all the rage for some time, we’ve recently been seeing the new “window” manicures (which is a fancy way of saying part of your natural nail is exposed), get some attention. Simcha took all of it to the next level by creating a Leopard Moon Window Mani! If you get Ricky’s news letter you should be getting our newsletter today. Yes, that’s my hand…
