With the whole athleisure trend (the fitness fashion revelation) growing strong, it was only a matter of time when beauty brands started to follow suit. Recently I spent the evening with Birchbox for the launch of just that brand called ARROW. Specializing in lightweight, long-wearing makeup and refreshing skincare, Birchbox‘s new beauty brand ARROW is designed to keep up with your on-the-go, active lifestyle. Each breathable product creates a fresh, natural, beautiful effect, so you can feel cool and confident from an A.M. visit to the gym to a late-night work session (and everywhere in between). Bonus: Every product in the ARROW line is vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
Currently their are 3 products in the line, PROTECT Deodorant, BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm, REVIVE Cooling Cheek Tint (available in 2 shades). They are also debuting the ARROW Limited Edition Starter Kit for anyone that wants to try the whole set. Naturally being such a fitness fiend I wanted it all, but some products were better then others.
ARROW PROTECT Aluminum-Free Deodorant ($9) – I wanted to love this. It’s so hard to find an aluminum-free deodorant that works, unfortunately this one was no exception. While it’s better then it’s competitors if you’re doing anything past light yoga it doesn’t hold up. At least it didn’t for me, which is too bad because it smells amazing. The bright citrus scent is designed to neutralize odors and features notes of pink grapefruit, mint leaf, ginger flower, and sea spray. The rolling experience on is nice and goes on clear without staining clothes. I don’t have strong sweat glands so I do use it for my daily, but any high impact or if I smell from working out I have to keep re-applying to mask the scent.
ARROW BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm ($14) – This high-tech, moisturizing lip balm is formulated to adjust to your unique pH, it enhances each wearer’s natural lip color to create the perfect, just-for-you hue. It’s lovely on with nourishing ingredients like mango seed butter hydrate and protect lips with a lovely minty scent.
ARROW REVIVE Cooling Cheek Tint ($18) – The cooling cheek tint has a breathable, oil-free gel formula that allows it to seamlessly sink into skin—without clogging pores or streaking—for a natural-looking flush of color that lasts through every part of your day. I’m not a big cheek stain wearer but it did it’s job nicely and is available in two shades (Berry Flush and Pink Flush).
