Every day on Instagram, 55 million photos are uploaded, 86.4 million comments are posted and 691.2 million users like photos in their feeds — crazy right? So it’s no wonder our innovative friends at COVERGIRL unveiled Katy Perry’s television commercial for the #instaGLAM collection on their instagram channel first before the ad campaign hit news stands and television screens — you’ve all seen it right? The #instaGLAM collection features COVERGIRL’s Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation , Ready, Set Gorgeous Pressed Powder, Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer, Colorlicious Lip Gloss, XL Nail Gel and Bombshell Curveacous Mascara (both Katy and my favorite from the collection!).
This week we’re going behind-the-scenes of her COVERGIRL photo shoot! In the video below Katy talks her approach to makeup and her must-have beauty product while crediting her makeup artist Jake Bailey for giving her “the Katy Perry face.” No surprise here, she looks like a total Bombshell!
In case you missed the spread, (it was first page in my July issue of Marie Claire), the ad reads”Get Katy Perry’s #instaGLAM collection and #instaGLAM yourself,”. Which in case it wasn’t totally obvious, it calls out for you to make sure to use the hashtag #instGLAM and #covergirl on your social networks when posting your looks. I was pursuing the hashtag and there are some seriously talented ladies featuring their looks.
And in other big Katy Perry news, in celebration of her PRISMATIC world tour, COVERGIRL will be sponsoring the North American leg showing off Katy Perry’s #instaGLAM collection. Making all of the tour stops COVERGIRL is hosting a larger than life photo activations, giving out samples from the collection and hosting a contest to send two lucky fans up on stage with Katy!
Additionally, fans will be treated to COVERGIRL coupon booklets and diffraction glasses to enhance the show. Outside the arena, KatyCats and COVERGIRL fans will be able to engage with exclusive content on COVERGIRLs social channels including behind the scenes images, beauty how-to’s and more.
