Avon Glazewear Lip Gloss: Steal Alert

When I first heard about Avon’s new Glazewear lip gloss with the headline ‘America’s #1 Lip Gloss’, the cynic in me somewhat rolled her eyes, thinking ‘aren’t they all?’  Regardless, I do love a good lip gloss and considering Avon sells 8 Glazewears every minute, I was curious to see what all the hype was about. Well go figure; they have a new life long customer since I have absolutely no intention of ever running out of Intense Plum, which now has a permanent home in my makeup case.

Glazewear comes in three forms, Intense (strong color impact with light sheen with medium to full coverage), Sparkle (shimmer and sparkle with sheer to medium coverage), and Shine (high luster with sheer to medium coverage), all in a variety of colors.  As I mentioned before my preference is the Intense line, however the formulas all feel the same when applied, it just comes down to your level of shine/coverage when choosing the right one for you.

What I like about Glazwear lip gloss is they are not sticky or tacky, and I’ve been wearing it all week and not once has it made it in my hair or teeth.  And yes, when I wear

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream

Danny Sanz, Creator of MAKE UP FOR EVER  has done it again!  When it comes to high pigment, HD (high-definition) color the woman is a goddess in my book.  The latest addition to the MUFE collection is Aqua Cream.

Sanz created the line out of deep need by makeup artists for products that can stand extreme conditions from television studios to fashion shows, that could combat high heat from spotlights and would also be resistant to water.  22 shades of pure smudge-proof, tear-proof, waterproof color, which can be worn on eyes, lips and cheeks.  The amazing burst of intense color glides effortless on all areas of the face, and a little goes a long way.  Once applied, you have about a 10 second window to

Spring Must Have: Cammie Hill Clutches

Last week a friend of mine introduced me to the bags of Cammie Hill and I instantly fell for her clutches.  Spring/Summer is when I shed my big bags and go straight for something smaller, more feminine and fun, and these clutches definitely fit the bill. Now, despite how attracted I am to a bag, I do have a few general rules when picking one out to ensure it won’t be just another pretty thing that collects dust on my mantle.  The smaller the bag, the better but it has to be shaped appropriately to fit my iPhone, ID case, and few makeup bag essentials. Measuring 10.5” x 6”, the clutches are tested and approved!  The other thing I look for is a strap.  This isn’t a deal breaker but more for my convenience since I lose everything.  All Cammie Hill clutches come with a beaded bracelet wristband, which not only adds personality to an already great bag, but also makes for the perfect accessory. The added perk is the wristband is completely removable.

There are two fabrications to chose from, reclaimed leather ($210) or organic cork ($145) , both in a variety of colors.

Meet the Ladies of Pylones

The most common questions you’ll hear me ask in my apartment (mostly to myself) are where’s my nail file? Tweezers? Nail clippers? Tape? Scissors? It feels like no matter how many pairs of each I own, in my moment of need they are no where to be found.  Well thanks to my new friends from Pylones some of my problems are solved.

Pylone’s line of grooming products, which includes a tweezer and nail file set, both have a suction cup to adhere to your bathroom mirror, not only has made me more organized but are also so cute!  The suction cup allows you to hang the product either upright or vertical (see picture) for your convenience and really brightens up my bathroom.  The Tweezers ($12) come in 7 different lady choices, the nail file ($15) in 8, all in various ethnicities, costumes and hair colors.  Both measure roughly 1” in base, 4” in height.  They are also incredibly purse-friendly should you be so charmed by these ladies you should want to put them in your makeup case.  However, if you have my

Estee Lauder Buys Smashbox

Amidst watching a presentation by Eve Pearl yesterday at The Makeup Show, I glanced at my iPhone to see an email from WWD with the headline “Estee Lauder to Buy Smashbox Cosmetics”. I almost fell out of my chair.  The makeup company was recently rumored to be on the market with many potential buyers, so while I was caught off guard, the news was not a complete shock.  In fact, I figured the buyer would either be the King or Queen of Prestige Beauty –L’Oreal or Estee Lauder. Although considering L’Oreal purchased nail polish brand Essie last month, it seemed about right this bid would go to Lauder.

While the cost has not been disclosed, it has been estimated by sources Smashbox was sold for between $200-$300 Million. Phew!

Sue Devitt Hydrating Marine Minerals Destination Eye & Cheek Palette

Be-cheek my heart! Given my addiction to pink blushes and bronzers, when I came across Sue Devitt’s new Hydrating Marine Minerals Destination Eye & Cheek Palette in Solomon Islands, it was love at first site.  A perfect gradation of pink to gold, the hues can be blended together for a variety of looks which you can customize to create your perfect shade.  I greatly appreciate that since I love to mix and match or for back of a better term – play.

My personal preference is to use the light pink as a highlighter under my eyebrow while applying the more bronze shade across my face and the sheerer pink on my cheekbone for a perfect sun kissed look.  Apply with a brush and the colors blend very naturally and evenly onto skin.  The colors are sheerer then they appear in the picture, which really allows you
