ROXY Pro-Surfers, Monyca and Kelia

Meet Kelia and Monyca, two of Roxy’s Pro Surfers who are living the dream! The ultimate Roxy dream that is. They travel to exotic locations (they we’re just in Spain and Australia and have a trip planned to Tahiti!) to surf and do photo-shoots for the brand. At the moment they are in NYC to promote the brands latest endeavor: Finding the next Roxy girl!

Earlier this month I posted about Roxy’s ‘Let the Sea Set You Free’ competition for the chance to live the dream of a Roxy girl.  If you haven’t had a chance to enter online yet… tomorrow, March 30th from 2-4pm Teen Vogue editor Mary Kate Steinmiller is hosting an event in celebration of the “Let the Sea Set You Free” competition at Roxy’s Soho store in NYC. 10/22: Teen Vogue Fashion University

On October 22nd (tomorrow!), join Teen Vogue online for their annual TEEN VOGUE Fashion University, which serves as an educational program where the business of fashion is taught by its leaders.  Hosted live from New York City, this exclusive event provides 500 young women who aspire to a career in the fashion industry the opportunity to learn from top designers, editors and fashion entrepreneurs, including Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Peter Som,  Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, and TEEN VOGUE’s EIC Amy Astley, among others.

This year, anyone not local can experience Fashion U. online!  Viewers will have the opportunity to watch the top six seminars from the October 22nd curriculum as they happen live from the Hudson Theater, and they can be viewed on demand whenever, wherever after the live event. Registration is open now at fashionu.fora.tv for $34.95.

As someone who went to ‘Fashion College‘ — I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), this type of exposure is huge! At best we’d get one honorary speaker during the semester, with Teen Vogue it’s a back to back line-up of industry favorites. Personally, I can’t wait for Jack and Lazaro from Proenza Schouler –I’m obsessed with them. It wasn’t until last year during fashion week when I got to meet and hear the duo speak of which I’m still inspired by.

And the Winners of the CLINIQUE Fresh Faces Contest Goes to…

Clinique teamed up with Teen Vogue in search of three fresh faces that embodied the essence of Clinique and Teen Vogue.  From September 22nd – November 6th Clinique traveled from NYC to LA, stopping in 10 cities, aboard the Clinique “Mobile Beauty Studio” vehicle.  Candidates who could not make it to the studio were encouraged to apply online.

To enter, applicants submitted a headshot and filled out an entry form that asked them to described their fresh face look in three words. After an extensive national search, a panel of Clinique experts selected 25 finalists.  Their headshots were then uploaded online for the public to vote for their three favorites.

Meet Monica, Misha, and Earth, the three winners (out of 7,000 entries) for Clinique and Teen Vogue’s Fresh Faces Tour.

These three lucky young women received a once-in-a-lifetime VIP opportunity in NYC including a glam head-to-toe makeover styled by Teen Vogue experts, a professional photo shoot that will be featured in Teen Vogue magazine, and a behind-the-scenes tour with Teen Vogue.  As if that’s not exciting enough, the winners also visited Clinique’s headquarters, and met
