ED by Ellen DeGeneres takes over the world

Ellen DeGeneres is on a roll! Since recently launching her ED by Ellen clothing and home line, she has added some new partnerships to the mix! For starters we had the great honor of joining Ellen and wife Portia de Rossi for the launch of the ED home decor and ready-to-wear pop-up shop at Bergdorf Goodman! The event also celebrated the launch of her new book, Home.

Through Spring 2016, the Gap x ED collection and campaign will focus on empowering girls to feel pride for the very things that make them different, encouraging them to be exactly who they are. Talk about Girl Power!Screen Shot 2015-08-21 at 1.53.26 PM (700x526)

Furthering the empowerment message, social media plays a crucial role in the campaign. Using the hashtag #heyworld followed by a name, a girl’s friend, mother, father or mentor can issue a call to action for social messages of encouragement and love to any girl in need of positive support, cheering her on through the power of positive words.

The collection of clothing for girls, boy and a small assortment for adult launched globally in select Gap stores and gap.com.

Choupette’s Diary: 10 Lessons I Learned Being InstaFamous

CL

In my short three years, I’ve learned a thing or two (or ten) from humans. Some good and others that have prepared me for the next nine years of life. The most important lessons have come from my internet fame, which was neither planned nor a publicity stunt contrary to popular belief. Since I’m not just beautiful but also wise, I will impart my wisdom on you.

Choupette’s Diary: A Chic Guide to Feminism in Fashion

WeCanDoIt

Emma Watson and I have more in common than just our fashion icon, “Mommy” Coco Chanel – we know that ‘feminism’ isn’t a swear word, rather it’s misunderstood. Recently, the political world has seen a lot of promise on the issue but much less progress. This disillusionment about the female’s role in a patriarchal society extends down even into fashion.

The industry is one dominated by females, yet there is a disconnect between empowerment and exploitation. It’s easy to blame fashion for forcing scantily clad young girls onto the catwalk and photoshopping even the thinnest model on the cover of magazines. We justify it as being “edgy” even though it perpetuates a male exploitation of the female form.

Coinciding with the portrayal of women in fashion, there should be more women on the executive level of large fashion conglomerates. The roadblock is the never-ending debate over equal pay, which affects women disproportionately.

Instead of focusing on the past wrongdoings of fashion’s crawl toward female empowerment, we should be building a world where all women (and felines alike) have the opportunity to receive an equal education, opportunities, and careers. I’m calling for a restructuring on how the fashion industry – and the world – addresses youth, beauty, sexuality, and career-driven women.

Find out how Chanel is standing up for feminism.

Choupette’s Diary: A Chic Guide to Being a Cat Lady

Me

Not all cat ladies are created equal. Those not in the fashion sphere look at “cat ladies” as lonely single women who walk around their overstuffed (read: Hoarder) apartment talking to their felines. Non! The world of fashion has challenged this stereotype, transforming “cat ladies” into sophisticated high-style women.

I may have started said “trend” but since June is official “Adopt a Cat” month, I’d like to honor the Fashion Friends of Felines:

Choupette Lagerfeld Grazia

I didn’t start my career as an IMG model covering magazine’s like Grazia and contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t my famous Daddy who got me the gig either. Climbing the corporate ladder is difficult enough for mere mortals but try ascending the fashion industry in HEELS!

Style Mondays: Dark Summer

Pretty Connected Style Mondays Buddah Girl Jewelry styled by Tiffany Pinero

Going back to black is a perfect curve ball to throw at your summer wardrobe (especially as we start to transition to fall). While brights and vibrant prints are always a staple for the season, there is an overwhelming presence of cool associated with a dark and daring ensemble. A maxi dress you’ve worn dozens of times over can be transformed with a different shoe choice and some bold accessories. I recently discovered BuDhaGirl, their wrap bracelets and necklace (even wore backwards) complete the look. Unleash your inner
