As you can probably imagine I’ve been to my fair share of spas but I’m embarrassed the say, that past my immediate family, I’ve never done a spa day with the girls. Maybe it’s because I work in the industry, or subliminally consider being pampered my “me” time but if there’s one thing I learned it’s everything it’s cracked up to be in the movies.
One of my favorite NYC sanctuaries, Oasis Spa recently got a makeover at their One Park Avenue Flagship location. A perfect place to take some time for yourself and unwind, the award-winning spa, deemed “Best of New York” and “Best of Westchester,” continues to remain true to their core values of providing luxury spa services and relaxation at affordable prices. The spa has undergone a complete restorative makeover, and while the ambience has changed for a more modern and luxurious feel, and are incorporating new extensions to their quality services, their prices have remained the same.
AMOREPACIFIC, is one of those elite skincare brands that’s actually worth every penny (if you can afford it!). Known for being the only cosmetic company to grow it’s own Green Tea (which is harvested on the JeJu Island in it’s volcanic mineral rich soil), the brand has a new collection of innovative products that launched for fall. Boasting the use of botanical ingredients and breakthrough technology, AMOREPACIFIC uses their signature green tea extract, bamboo sap, and red ginseng among other things to create a rejuvenating formula for skin.
While vacationing in the Big Island of Hawaii, I spent 5 heavenly days at the Four Seasons Resort in Hualalai, soaking up the sun and enjoying the sensation of having sand underneath my feet. I’m generally a big explorer on my vacations but the Four Seasons offered so many great activities and services that I didn’t leave the property during my stay. The adventures would have to be saved for Maui; this portion of my trip was all about having no agenda and unwinding from all the running around I do in NY.
Well I picked the perfect place. Having taken full advantage of the amenities the property had to offer, I was very excited for the opportunity to interview the woman largely responsible for making this establishment so great, Hualalai Director of Sports and Spa, Karen Cosgrove.

Karen Cosgrove (KC): I have been in the spa industry for 11 years. I spent 3 years in the Middle East in Qatar and Egypt, 4 years in the Caribbean before ultimately coming back to the US, where I worked in California and Arizona before moving to
